Chapter 10 - Is it a heist, if we bought it?

Spotting the Rodians, Ken looks around for AD-hoc. They won't recognise Creds or Zailor but Ken and the droid definitely have history with the Yiyar Clan and this isn't the moment to test out whether they remember them. He slides in behind AD-hoc and raps on his metal carapace, 'A quiet word,' he whispers, and nods towards the Rodians.

"Oh, is that the same group with which you have . . . history?" AD-hoc ask bluntly.

Ken rolls his eyes as best he can. 'Do you remember where we got the ship from?' He jabs a finger towards the Rodians. 'Them.'

Creds notes Ken's agitated body language. He leans into the Sullustan beside him and says, "Oh my heavens." His voice is quiet enough to sound like he's trying to keep this under his hat, but loud enough that others can probably hear. "I hear those Rodians are bad news. Now, if you ask me, the rumors about the auction are a bunch of hooey. But at least I'm not threatening to vaporize anyone who outbids me." He gives the Rodians a wary glance. "Those fellas are."

AD-hoc replied to Ken "Oh, right. We already change the name. If you don't think that is sufficient, maybe we should also repaint it?"

Sigh. 'I think it is a bit late to repaint it now we're docked in the spaceport. We changed the transponders at least. But let's you and me keep our distance and watch these Yiyar boys from a distance. Let our new recruits see what they can find out.'

AD-hoc will hang back with Ken, trying to stay out of site of the Rodians. He mentally takes 'paint' off of his shopping list.

"Bad news, they are..."

Zailor will try to move closer to the Rodians without trying to draw their attention

Ken tries to follow the Rodians at a distance, to see where they go. He has a lot of experience tracking quarry, sentient or otherwise.

Spotting Ken nearby Zailor whispers Did you by any chance understand them? What are getting into here?

Seeing his partners slip out of the bar, Creds underscores the building story about the threat of the Yiyars. "Make no mistake, friends," he regales the patrons. "Those Rodians are the biggest reason not to bid in the auction tomorrow. Frankly, I'm thinking of staying away completely—I value my hide, see." He sinks a bit into his stool. "Too bad there's no way to work together to make sure they don't win the damn thing."

Keeping on the tail of the Rodians, Ken hisses to Zailor, 'I understand them well enough. The Yiyar are always looking for trouble...'

As they approach the auction lot he gets close enough to see what the Rodians are doing.

Zailor follows Ken's lead and while Ken is spying on them, Zailor will keep an eye on their own backs.

AD-hoc is just lurking, keeping an eye on Creds

Creds sits upright on his stool as if being hit with a flash of inspiration. "You know what? We don't have to let those Rodian bullies push us around." He claps the Sullustan salaryman on the back. "How many groups you reckon'll be bidding on those crates tomorrow?"
