Chapter 10 - Is it a heist, if we bought it?

'That's what make it fun,' replies Ken sulkily.

"Just tell us what you have in mind, Ken," Creds prods. "It might be that we can get actual customs to do our, ya know, spot customs inspection."

'I just wanted to get a look on board. There's no way their ship isn't filled with black market tech. But we can do things the easy way if you want...just tell them you saw armed Rodians coming out the ship on direct contravention of the rules on weapons...'

"We may be able to do both if Ken acts quickly"

Ken takes out a little bag shaped like a satchel and opens it to reveal a selection of Rodian-specific hairpieces and various other items to form a disguise, including some patches that look like generic station security badges. He roots around, applying a bit of makeup and sticking the patches onto his outfit until he's made an approximation to a station security operative - if you don't look too close.

'Well, shall we take a look inside?

Ken starts strolling up the ramp. 'Customs inspection...' he bellows as one of the security patches peels off his shoulder and flops onto the floor without him noticing.

Creds looks to the others. "That didn't go too well, did it?" He rushes over to Ken's side. "Howdy, howdy, howdy, neighbors! We were just docked nearby and thought we might come by to say hello to an auction competitor!" The Lutrillian gestures toward Ken. "Forgive my colleague here. His sense of the exotic can sometimes get the best of him."

Ken strolls up the ramp, blissfully unaware of his disguise deteriorating around him. As Creds joins him he does a double take, and whispers behind his hand 'Shhh, we're security!'

AD-hoc would sigh if that what's something that droids did. But as it's not, he spent that energy looking to see if there was a speeder or something else they could use to make a hasty escape

edit: so no speeder, but maybe he notices an exit it would be hard for the Yiyar to follow? IF Creds does t smooth things over

Ken freezes at the sight of the blaster. 'Lethal weapons are forbidden in the spaceport!' he continues, seemingly unable to conceive of the possibility the Rodian has seen through his disguise.

AD-hoc leans over to talk quietly to Zailor "This sort of situation is common. Well, Ken's disguise falling apart is new. Nevertheless, I'm glad you're here, since I am not sure how we should proceed."

Unaware of the situation taking place at the ship Zailor turns to AD-hoc "well I suppose for now we see what happens and we back them up if they need us. I'd guess we improvise"

There is a short pause (that would have been filled with another sigh) "I greatly dislike improvising. I will follow your lead."

Creds begins backing down the gangplank, hands raised. "Perhaps we miscalculated, friend. We'll just be on our way." He clears his throat. "We BOTH will be going," he says, directing the words at Ken.

Looking back and forth between the Rodian's blaster and Creds look of panic, it finally dawns on Ken that perhaps his ruse has been detected. 'Ah yes, we seem to have the wrong ship...' and he backs towards Creds, looking out of his peripheral vision to calculate the chance of surviving stepping sideways off the ramp.
