OOC:
I thought we would Mage Hand insert the last cubes. :P
Does Ixion have the chance to bonus action Misty Step out before the slab falls? If not, I'll roll Athletics.

OOC:
more creativity: does me opening it up a little give them BOTH the line of sight/time needed to misty step?

OOC:
yes BA spell works for me.
With a loud bang stone block totally block the entrance a moment after both teleport out of tunnel. You can now see the block is perfectly sized to not let you see inside.
Tinkara realize eight cubes left inside...
Mar 13, 2024 8:56 am
Tinkara flies up to examine the area where the top of the block and the tunnel meet. She looking to see if there's any opening at the junction. Even just a small hole she can see through.

Well, that didn't work as we might have hoped. I can't teleport back in there unless I can see where I'm going. We have one block left. I suggest that we read the obelisk for a clue as to how to proceed. If anyone has another idea, let's hear it. Our only hope at this point seems to be that this is an elaborate trap, and that the true entrance is hidden elsewhere.

Seeing that the others are free Vatoris continues to scrape the moss off of the obelisk... "Everyone Ok? No one Smashed or Broken?"
Mar 13, 2024 6:17 pm
No injuries. If we were meant to be in there, and the inner door is now open, then this may be over before it starts. Hopefully the obelisk will reveal something. If not, I can fly up and do some aerial reconnaissance, look for another way in.

OOC:
I have a weird "stretch" of an idea. Could I hypothetically use Druidcraft in a novel way?

Druidcraft says "You instantly make a flower blossom, a seed pod open, or a leaf bud bloom." Could this be seen as speeding up the process that a plants life cycle takes? Could I use Druidcraft to speed up the lifecycle of the moss or manipulate it in some way to clear it off?

again, it isn't exactly how it is worded but worth the ask
Mar 14, 2024 5:38 am
OOC:
no I would like not describe druidcraft destroy a plant

OOC:
annex says:
I thought we would Mage
me too. But never seen that action described or Tinkara's action dismissed. Again I narrate your actions not discussing an action.
Vatoris has meanwhile figured out wine drapping makes it very hard to clear heavy moss. One would need to use a knife or other blade to do the job.
OOC:
let's say clearing it with mage hand will take 1d4 hours.
After a few minutes the stone block start slowly ascending until some magic puts it back where it descended from. You find your 8 cubes on the floor near where you put them (they dropped ). Otherwise no changes inside. Just the sand and small stones on the floor where block descended
Mar 14, 2024 11:37 am
Tinkara flies over and collects the 8 cubes.

Hmm. Seems we do not have the correct solution here.

She flies back out of the tunnel and lands. She starts walking around the area, looking for any clues that might have been missed.
OOC:
Including an investigation check.

"Hmmmm... they were rejected by the mountain mouth... so maybe they were not 'worthy' or... prepared good enough. I would go with the Tink's idea of immersing them in basins of oil now. But... let's use the Magic Hand this time for the last cube. I don't want to find out that that the stone can fall in different place too... by experiencing it." - he smiles with the blink in his eyes. And before departing he throws:
"Any other plans for clearing the moss? It looks like it will take ages this way..."

If no one opposes, Zean takes the cubes from Tinkara, goes to the small tunnel, immerse them in oil basins (in correct ones - of course:) ), then gets back to the group, gives one of the cubes to Vatoris and goes with the rest towards the stone doors once again and starts to insert them in the same way as before.

Tosses a crowbar up to the Mage Hand to scrap off the moss.
"While I clear this maybe look around incase we missed something else."

Thad walks carefull around the area. Studying the area around the block, and looks for potential clues in so far as how to properly fit the cubes.

Your magic hand is taking to long. Throgin then pulls out a hand axe and begins chopping at the vibes.
Mar 15, 2024 7:02 am
Throgin quickly clear wines and moss before any damage is done to the obelisk or writings he soon finds out. It appears to be another warnung message from Acererak.
OOC:
see message here
Thaddeus makes a conclusion cubes were put properly.
Mar 15, 2024 12:21 pm
Tinkara carefully reads the message.

Hmm. The enemies oppose, so I think we were basically correct with the placement of the cubes. In darkness, it hides. Sounds like we should light the oil. The keys turn on the inside only. Maybe we all need to be standing on the inside, and let the block fall, before the doors will open? I don't get the bit about the mask or the doomed child. Any other thoughts?
Mar 15, 2024 3:00 pm
Zean in this time is back with the cubes sticky from oil and wrapped in some cloth.

"Yes... I think you are spot on again Tinks! There could be the last hole for the last cube on the falling stone and we didn't mange to see it from the outside and you teleported fast. But... that means we all have to be between two stones in order to enter. I don't like it... but we don't have a choice I think. I think the rest of the riddle is for the things that are yet to come. So do we fire the oils after my little bath for the cubes? " - Zean asks puzzled.
Mar 15, 2024 3:19 pm
Well, I'm small enough to sit on someone's shoulder, which should give us a bit of extra breathing room in there. I think we should light the oils, make sure there's nothing new or that happens once we do that, then get cozy in the space between the door and the block before we insert the cubes. Might kill us all, but if we aren't going to take any risks we might as well go home. It seems that if we still don't have it right, we can hope for the block to lift back up. Maybe.
Mar 15, 2024 4:01 pm
Zean showing that he is ready to go: "My shoulder - at your service. Destination: trap closed from both sides. Attractions: limited space, feeling of having no way out, BUT... in the good company of sweaty adventurers. Everyone ready for the dream trip?" - Zean jokingly asks.
OOC:
Maybe not everyone have time to write so I think a little pool could be in order:

Lets go between the stones... together? Public

Let's do this then, I can light the oil if everyone else would want to stay out of the passageway in case anything goes wrong

Throgin will set unlit torches just over the basins of oil, then he would prepare to light them one by one with Druidcraft once he gets the signal from everyone.
OOC:
I think I can stand at the closest to the opening basin and back up as I light them so that the last basin is lit as I leave the tunnel
