@Psybermagi are you sure you have got +9 to hit, I read in monster manual

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 5) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage

Update (after some reading): Not a big expert on multi-classing combos, but I guess rage would give you +2 to damage instead of to hit, turning that into (1d8 + 7) and (2d6 + 7) damage, but it is still + 7 to hit.

I get the beast +5 STR bonus but keep my own proficiency bonus, at level 10 that is +4 right?

Until you could point me to proof that it must work otherwise in 2014 we will
Quote:
Make it simple
Attack roles - you're using the beast. Attacks aren't class features but general rules.
It doesn't matter if you are lvl 2 ot 20 druid - once you turn to a mouse you have very little change to bite dragon, because you are physically a mouse.

I see both online but it boils down to one thing as far as I can tell. Anything the droid is not proficient with themselves uses the best form bonus. Since I am not proficient with natural weapons I guess that would be the beast bonus. Will fix that on my sheet.

Wild Shape
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a beast that you have seen before. You can use this feature twice. You regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Your druid level determines the beasts you can transform into, as shown in the Beast Shapes table. At 2nd level, for example, you can transform into any beast that has a challenge rating of 1/4 or lower that doesn't have a flying or swimming speed.

Table: Beast Shapes
Level Max. CR Limitations Example
2nd 1/4 No flying or swimming speed Wolf
4th 1/2 No flying speed Crocodile
8th 1 — Giant eagle
You can stay in a beast shape for a number of hours equal to half your druid level (rounded down). You then revert to your normal form unless you expend another use of this feature. You can revert to your normal form earlier by using a bonus action on your turn. You automatically revert if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die.

While you are transformed, the following rules apply:

Your game statistics are replaced by the statistics of the beast, but you retain your alignment, personality, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of the creature. If the creature has the same proficiency as you and the bonus in its stat block is higher than yours, use the creature's bonus instead of yours. If the creature has any legendary or lair actions, you can't use them.
When you transform, you assume the beast's hit points and Hit Dice. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before you transformed. However, if you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form. For example, if you take 10 damage in animal form and have only 1 hit point left, you revert and take 9 damage. As long as the excess damage doesn't reduce your normal form to 0 hit points, you aren't knocked unconscious.
You can't cast spells, and your ability to speak or take any action that requires hands is limited to the capabilities of your beast form. Transforming doesn't break your concentration on a spell you've already cast, however, or prevent you from taking actions that are part of a spell, such as Call Lightning, that you've already cast.
You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can't use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense.
You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form.

Actually found exactly the same question here
I would like to rule your bite was 11 = (4) + 7 instead of 13=(4)+9 and it missed, but I welcome you to add rage damage bonus if you didn't
Apr 29, 2025 4:15 pm
Yeah that's about what I found. I only get the bonus to stats but keep proficiency if I use some form that allows me to use weapons, great ape or such. Will have to look into that though.
Already posted adjustments to that effect in ooc on story post.

Did Cavebear attack the distant ghost 2 rather than the close ghost 3 or specter? Just confirming this.

That attach against 2 was my barbarian rage ability which is random wild surge. It does a 5' radius force damage. That was the only enemy I can target without affecting allies

I see. Is the bite and claw damage against ghost 2 also? Or is the bite and claw damage against ghost 3 or Spector?
Apr 29, 2025 9:50 pm
No, just closest most damages ghost
That is always my default as player and dm.
I will state specific target if needed. Shall I?

That would be very helpful to me if you can always state the target just as everyone else do. I am trying to guess your melee attacks are against ghost, but you also have specter in range

@Psybermagi I'm sorry, but I'm going to be the annoying DM who insist players to follow the rules of the game we play. So
1. Since we play 5.0 Inspiration is not a reroll. You need to announce use of advantage before you roll. I know it is different in 2024 and I love 2024 version of it, but we are not playing 2024. So please keep you inspiration and next time roll 2d20h1 instead of 1d20

2. Haste say (and well - you know - player did post that in the spoiler of spell description)
That action can be used only to take the Attack (one weapon attack only).

Since attack and attack action are two different things in DnD You can't bite AND claw attack, you choose one and I'm terribly sorry but since you rolled to hit twice instead of once I'm taking the first roll only. Don't want players to be roll-phishing.
Apr 30, 2025 7:08 pm
So are you using inspiration on bite or claw or disallowing it this round? If disallowed I will just use it next round

Haste adds limited action so only 1 extra attack
Total attacks this round = bite claw bite ?
I will do 3 attacks next time

roll 2d20h1 instead of 1d20 . Once. That's what inspiration does.

Bite+claw+bite OR Bite+claw+claw. Your choice

EX-Criella had 14 HP and both of the attackers would do over 14 HP of damage.

Which one hit Criella first as it would have knocked her 0 HP, unarmed, bleeding, prone. The other one would automatic hit and crit doing 2 bad death saves to her but no HP damage. Would she be needing a MAX save for both since one actually does no hp damage?

Academy as she did pass the second hit. That is assuming the ghost was first to take her down.

Damn Tobias was killed twice
May 2, 2025 3:12 pm
Sorry for Tobias. Not much left of him. How does Criella achieve having her max HP returned to the former level of 64 rather than the 9 currently?
May 2, 2025 3:18 pm
full day rest I think, or a greater restoration
May 2, 2025 3:30 pm
Yeah. Hunted and it is a long rest or two greater restorations as she was drained twice. YES. Draining really SUCKS. And lots more healing spells.

After long rest, Criella can HD heal for 10d10 hp and will have her 6 slots (4x1st, 2x2nd) available for cure wounds as she can heal herself.
