Nesta is not really optimistic about doing that unknown side mission, but it seems it would be the only way to get to their ship.

She looks at the rest of the crew and shrugs her shoulders as to say: "what can we do"

"It's a simple task. You must use your scout ship’s planetary survey equipment and a bunch of seismic charges, which are aboard the ship... Presumably, since they were given to the previous crew... To carry out a geological/seismic/tectonic survey of a region not far from the capital. It would be in my best interests that you recover your ship, if you accept. Moreover, our government is not rich, but I can offer you a 3,000 credits payment if you do this job. Do you accept?"

Hugging everyone in a big circle we start discussing, football style, in hushed voices so that they can’t hear us

"I don’t know what you all think but I’m all for it, it’s the deal that will lead us to the ship we want, but I think someone naturally better at talking could try to sweeten this deal, we will surely need some sort of port and skilled workers to equipe the pieces provided to the ship, we could ask that besides the credits we are given a space in the hanger and some hours of help from those mechanics we met when we got here"

The Minister's smile widened at their acceptance, relieved that he had found a solution to the problem of the abandoned ship. "Excellent," he said, clasping his hands together. "I'll provide you with all the necessary information and assistance to locate the ship and carry out the task. And of course, you'll be compensated for your efforts."

"So, here's the situation," Greener began, his voice grave. "Mount Salbarii, the volcano on Settlement Island, has shown signs of activity after millennia of dormancy. While initial assessments indicated that there was no immediate danger, I want to conduct a more detailed survey to assess the risk of eruption within the next decade."

He paused, allowing the gravity of the situation to sink in before continuing. "Originally, I had intended to hire an University team from Satton V to conduct the survey, but when the crew showed with the necessary equipment I hired them instead for the task. As you know, something went wrong and they fled. Now that you're here, we have an opportunity to finish the job and gather the necessary data to assess the volcano's activity."

"As you can imagine, the location of the ship poses a challenge," Greener added, almost as an afterthought. "It's crashed in the crater of Mount Salbarii, a possibly active volcano a dozen or so kilometers to the south."

Maya could not hide the disturbance of her thoughts as she stuttered after an audible gulp:

"D-d-did you just say 'possibly active'?"

She then tried to calm her mind while drinking water with her eyes closed, she was always appreciative of a good glass of water whenever she found herself nervous.

"Well... I guess there are not a lot of options for us... Was I ready to explore an active volcano? Probably not. Am I always happy to help science? Yep! Could you give us any guidance in terms of how we can get there and what are the "must haves" that we need to gather to not find ourselves in... - Maya paused for a second - ... troubled situations?

Nesta jaw drops to the floor hearing how their easy job turned out, she only manages to close when Maya starts talking.

joining in after Maya stops asking for "must haves" she complements:

"Maybe where to find fire-proof shoes.....and clothes.....and underwear"

Her face getting more worried with each word

"Sure. Maybe you can go on a train. Its the cheapest way but it would take you only to the nearest city and them you would have to travel by foot a kilometer and then climb the Mount Salbarii. Or you can rent or buy some vehicle like an offroad car. The travel and the first 500 metres of the ascent can be undertaken aboard it, albeit not quickly. After that, it is not really feasible to drive a wheeled vehicle any higher... About 'must haves' you should pay attention to the thin atmosphere and predators. You can buy clothes and other supplies here at Central City."

we get all the info needed to find the ship and start making our way to the stores where we can buy the supplies

"about the transportation options guys, i know that it seems we are always picking the cheapest option but i think we should also pick the cheapest one now, we will have to walk the last part of the way anyway so i don't see a point in wasting money on a car"

but before looking for transportation we go and buy the supplies needed

Nesta and the crew knows that there are 3 ways to deal with thin atmosphere. Either they:

1. Buy a compressor (a special kind of atmofilter) that uses the own planetary atmosphere to provide breathable air (ie. works forever, as long as there is some reasonable external pressure and oxygen for it to compress) or;
2. They fit an atmofilter with oxygen bottle (each bottle weighs 1 encumbrance and functions for six hours) that don't require external atmosphere/inputs but has limited duration or;
3. They go using a full vacc suit (with the advantages and disadvantages of using that).

"Hey guys i think we should pass by the store and get some compressors, a vacc suit is very useful for our new ship, but i would imagine the ship might come equipped with some of those, i would hate to have to buy something that becomes obsolete, and also i think we should try to be as mobile as possible while running away from a active volcano"

We continue making our way to the stores, i will try to buy some food, and some kind of shelter, and maybe some way to repel the predators.

The pressure tent is the size of a queen bed. This tent maintains a breathable atmosphere, tolerable temperature and serviceable sleeping quarters for up to five, very friendly (or desperate) occupants.

Or 1 or 2, more comfortably.

Maya arranged her eyebrows for a moment, listening to Nesta's thoughts, and decided she too wanted a tent, she felt like the group could be in even greater danger if not properly rested. "Sleeping uncomfortable is better than no sleeping at all" - she thought to herself.

"I'm down for sharing a tent, we do what we gotta do. You guys better not snore too loud! By the way, I'll need a compressor and a ration of food too, we better be prepared."

Maya then let a nervous laugh escape.

Okay, but I still need feedback from other players. Your carrying capacity is limited and we can't use their money without their approval to buy items for them. =)

I have a suggestion to make it easier, though, to choose and buy equipment. My suggestion is that each player can only own, individually, Ready items. That's half their strength attribute. All their Stowed items (and stowed carrying capacity) will be shared and tracked by us in the shared character sheet. Buying, carrying and selling shared items can be done by the group.

Can we do that? @arthur12320,@ligera,@swehtam,@tuinho2012,@Spectro

This way it will be faster to buy and equip the group's gear.
