Albert already had a hand stretched out to give a blessing, but then simply grabs the rope instead and replies "I'm not sure what you mean by that. But, very well." He puts his staff back behind his back so he can hold the rope firmly.
"Don't do anything foolish." Is the only other thing he can tell her, realizing that what Ezme was about to do would probably be described as foolish in and of itself. But who was Albert to judge? He had already done the same in similar situations. Funny how foolishness and bravery often are distinguished based on the outcome. Goes through his mind.
