I thought dashing would use my action? If not, I'll gladly try and do something else if I can
OOC:
Here's what I captured (correct me if I've missed something):
Start: Zin gets hit by the carriage.
Round one: Zin tries to catch the carriage (action), misses, and uses her bonus action to give inspiration to Adran. She doesn't move.
Round two: Zin runs after the carriage (move), dashes (action), and gives inspiration to Bramlin (bonus action).
Round three: ...?
OOC:
Didn’t realize we were three rounds in. So for her third round actions:
Having little skill in slowing the carriage, Eozindra reaches for the flute she had been playing so happily earlier. She continues running after the carriage and breathes a sharp, high, yet clear tone on the instrument. "Look out! she calls to anyone who may not have realized the charging chaos. She repeats the tone and alternates another note, creating a pulsing alarm in aims of alerting as many individuals as possible. "Out of the way!" The alarm song continues between shouts.

It'd be Acrobatics to leap off (as you are going to try to tuck and roll to avoid being hurt). I'll allow you to repurpose that 17 roll as either your Acrobatics check to jump off the carriage or your Animal Handling check to gain control of it, though you can also roll your Bardic Inspiration die to add to the result in either case. Just let me know which one you're choosing so I can narrate the outcome correctly.

Sry, I got off track. I reading-failed, and thought we were all bailing. Bram will stay and help Adran to try stopp8ng the wagon. Prof with Vehicles (Land), to try steering away from nearest wall. 17+Dex 2+Prf 2 = 21 on the check. Is that viable?

Yes, that's fine. Good on you to add the Land Vehicles proficiency; I'd overlooked it.

Findal Dinfizzle Findazzle
Elowin stands protectively over Findal after helping him back to his feet. "I'll...I'll recover. That was a near thing!" The gnome replies, nodding in gratitude for the concern. Then he realizes that the others have run after the carriage. His jaw drops in amazement. "What are they doing??"

Eozindra's piping galvanizes the people in the plaza into further movement, and the crowd parts in front of the charging horses. Elysia calls to the passenger in the carriage, whose wild eyes stare out at her in alarm. Where once there was a dwarf, Morik is now a horse, cantering next to the horses, trying to exude a sense of calm and purpose to the panicked animals. On the buckboard, Adran and Bramlin together grab the reins and haul on them, leaning almost horizontally backwards. The bridles of the horses pull their heads back and they rear. As their hooves touch the cobblestones again, the momentum of the massive carriage pushes them a few steps further. But as the elegantly-dressed dwarf in the carriage pops open the door and prepares to leap trustingly into Elysia's arms, the vehicle finally comes to a stop less than a pace from the front door of a shop with the picture of a gleaming ball on a shingle hanging over it (in small letters below the picture it reads "Briny's Best Baubles" for those tourists who can read).

OOC:
As the immediate danger is in the past and the party has saved both the passenger and the carriage, we are no longer tracking rounds.

Argus Goldblood
The horses snort and stomp nervously, and as Findal and Elowin join the rest of the party, your gnome employer applauds: "Well done, everyone!" The dwarf passenger laughs in relief. "Yes! Ha-hah! You've saved me! I don't know what got into the horses; I would have been crushed under the wheels if I'd tried to leap clear or dashed to pieces if I'd stayed inside. But then you saved me! How can I repay you? Oh, but where are my manners?" He shifts the wooden case he holds in his arms so that he can execute a graceful and respectful bow. "I am Argus Goldblood, and I am in your debt." The driver comes running up and begin stammering an apology to Argus. The dwarf, well aware that the heroes are watching him, cuts off the driver's excuses. "Nonsense, man, nonsense. You had the good sense to get off when the horses panicked, as I should have done. If the horses are back under control as they seem to be, let's get back underway as soon as you're ready." The driver goes to the horses and begins checking them and their tack, readying the carriage for continuing their journey through the city.

Argus sets the case back in the carriage and gestures broadly to all of you. "Please allow me the satisfaction to reward you for your valiant service. Let me take you to my lodgings and treat you to one of the best meals in the city and see if there's any other way I can repay you for saving my life." He gestures inside the fancy carriage. "There's just enough room for all of us."

As you consider this offer, you notice that the Duke's guards are converging on the area to see the cause of the commotion. Findal ducks nervously behind Elowin to avoid attracting attention.

Well thank you Master Goldblood. We would be delighted. Elowin ushers Findal into the carriage.
Apr 4, 2024 1:49 pm
"Thank you, good sir. I'll join you in a moment."

Turning to the driver, Adran points out the small bolt. "You keep the animal calm while I remove the bolt and heal the wound?"

Given that we’ve been in the area for a while, would any of the guards be recognizable to Zin/Sia?

Morik was stunned that the horses stopped in time, and immediately reverted back to his normal self, patting himself to ensure everything was transformed back in the right places, and then patting the horses to calm them. The cause of the panic became evident, and Morik whispered soothing words to the injured horse.

"Best get that out." He said to himself even as he yanked it free, rubbing the the wounded area as the magic of the earth coursed through his hand and into the wound, mending it gently.

Thank you. I’m glad we could help.
Bram packs into the carriage. Wary eyes upon gathering guards!

Hesitation is the response Elysia has to the offer. Goldblood might be higher in society than she’d prefer to be around Eozindra or herself, she’s not sure yet. Seeing Zin looking around though, she waits to voice her rejection of the offer to see what Zin feels about the situation.

In a moment of quick decision-making, Eozindra takes stock of the approaching guards and proffered company. The half-elf moves to tuck her flute back into her belt, then notices an invisible errant boot lace. As she stoops to adjust her laces, she ensures that the hood of her robe flips carelessly over her head. When she arises, there is a subtle yet distinctive difference in the bard's appearance. No longer is her skin a pale, perfect porcelain, rather a fair milky complexion. Her hair, still wild and curls abounding, gives off the faintest hint of yellow when the sun hits it. Eyes, now a bright blue, shine happily over pale pink cheeks. She sneaks a wink to Sia and follows the troupe into the now-stilled carriage.
OOC:
Just a quick little Disguise Self while she is "tying her shoe" to be her same self, but no longer albino. As pale as a very fair-toned person might be. Basically just the subtlest shift so as to be able to pass a double check someone might do when looking for albinism characteristics.

OOC:
I wouldn't assume so - Grayhaven is huge, with hundreds of soldiers wearing the Duke's colors alone - but if you want to say that you've frequented the Eastgate district and recognize someone, that's fine by me.

Bram and Adran jump down from the buckboard, and after thanking Argus, Adran joins the shape-shifting Morik to examine the horse as the driver arrives. Between the two of them, they pull something out of the horse's flank and then heal the horse's wound. Adran palms the bolt, figuring that it's something he can examine at his leisure later, with some privacy. Elowin accepts Argus' invitation and ushers Findal into the carriage. Bram accepts the thanks of the fancy dwarf, and hops into the carriage also. The interior is lushly apportioned, with artistically carved scrollwork around the windows, cushions built into the seats, a miniature table attached to the floor, and several other decorations or features whose purpose is unclear. It's clearly a carriage meant to be hired by wealthy people. Findal sinks into one of the seats with a sigh. "This is quite an improvement over the wagon!" he beams, then claps a hand over his mouth, realizing that his piping little voice might give away that there is a gnome here.

Still outside, Morik helps the driver (who completely missed the druid's transformation into a horse and back again) finish harnessing the team - something Morik had much practice at during the caravan's journey, the many times he assisted Gavath - as Eozindra bends down and stands up again looking plainer, or at least somehow less striking. Adran has a momentary thought that the two half-elves, Elysia and Eozindra, suddenly look like two sides of the same coin, one dark-haired and mysterious, the other platinum-haired and ebullient. That impression passes after a moment like the sun passing behind a cloud. The driver is leading the horses around in a wheeling circle, repositioning the carriage so that it can proceed down the streets again. The Duke's guards are almost upon the group. It is not clear whether they heard the gnome or are just coming to see that everyone is unharmed after that dangerous near-crash.

Breathing a bit easier as a small smile meets Zin’s wink, Elysia links her arm with her fellow half-elf, gently leading her over to the carriage. "Go ahead and ascend into the carriage, dear. I’ll be but a moment." It was rare that she embraced her finer speech patterns, but with her nicer, stolen borrowed cloak on and the obvious signs as she peeks into the vehicle of wealth, she decides that embracing the "higher class" persona would possibly be a better use around this new person. At least until she had a better feel for him.

Keeping an eye on her surroundings, Elysia watches the guards that approach as she moves slightly away from the carriage door, prepared to either be the last person to enter or step in and deal with the guards knowing who else is currently hiding inside. While unknown he is to her, Sia isn’t one who likes the bullying of these select individuals.

Morik finished helping with the horses, and went back to check on his companions. He noted guards on the way, and was glad he’d changed back to his normal form. It felt strange, shifting around, but he was excited to try to do it again.

The others had apparently been invited to dine with the rescued dwarf, and Morik was happy to accept the offer.
