At the bottom Lothar waits to catch Elaria if she needs it -- Browyn's tumble looked painful, and it wouldn't do for Ms. Moneybags to fall and break something. He's a touch disappointed when she catches herself, but still helps her off the rope before turning his attention to their surroundings as Kris lands quietly behind him.

Drawing his sword and readying his shield, the man ignores the tracks on the ground and tromps up to the doors -- and the two statues.

If neither makes a move, Lothar will listen at, and then try to quietly open, the doors.
OOC:
Let me know if you want a spot-hidden roll. I'm generally not a fan of players making rolls without the GM calling for them, but I know it can speed PbP play.

Browyn started falling with his arms flailing and tried his best to twist and grab the rope. But, he unfortunately missed that spectacularly and fell straight down hitting the floor with crunching sound. Something is surely broken! He lay there dazed looking at the square entrance on the ceiling unable to move his body.

OOC: Wow, the dice gods surely hate me. This will be the end of Browyn. Okay, so I pushed in order to save myself but I got a failure and a condition. Now agility is my most important attribute for fighting. All my bow attacks rely on it. I want to take a stretch rest to heal that condition or else I am useless from now.

Rolls

Acrobatics CS12 - (1d20)

(19) = 19

Acrobatics CS12 (pushing) - (1d20)

(18) = 18

OOC:
@Stalker05 You can choose the condition you take, it doesnt have to apply to the stat you rolled as long as you can explain it. For example, Disheartened could certainly be explained as having your confidence a little shaken.

OOC: @KaeJae Hey, you are right! I totally missed that rule. Okay, I am taking disheartened, because I am losing confidence in my abilities.

OOC:
Can... Lothar -also- make a Boob check?!

OOC:
Boon! D'oh. This is what happens when fat thumbs posts via phone.

OOC:
Lol!!! And here I was getting ready to add that as a new skill on the sheet!
May 12, 2024 6:42 am
OOC:
To be clear, Lothar would pay good coin to see Krisanna employ that skill...

Felskrudd also slips from the rope taking 4 points of damage almost landing on Browyn.

You have all gotten down now and have gotten your bearing in the room.

Browyn gave an audible grunt as he tried to stand up. This had really hurt, but he got up anyway, trying to move his body, which felt painful. After some hobbling and grunting, he stood up straight and noticed the bats. If he is going to survive this dungeon, he will definitely need to see a healer.

OOC: Rolling Beastlore to see if Browyn knows anything about vampire bats.

Rolls

Beastlore CS12 - (1d20)

(10) = 10

May 15, 2024 4:38 pm
Browyn points out the vampire bats and told everyone, "Nasty creatures these are. They attack as swarms, and a bite will cause them to suck blood which might rejuvenate themselves. I don't like so many of them sweeping down on us. At greater numbers, they are fearful foes."

Krisanna's face screws up in an expression that can only be summarized as,"Eww." After a moment of contemplating the situation, she speaks again, this time in hushed tones so as not to spook the swarm. "Ok, I see two possible avenues here. Well, maybe three if its A and then B.... Option A - we haven't disturbed them yet, so we can try to be super quiet and calm and sloooowly get out of this room and shut the door behind us. Or B, we can light another torch (or two) and try to use the flames to keep them at bay while exit stage left or right or whatever. And then there's A and B, if we spook them while trying to sneak... We might want to keep extra torches handy and light them off the first one of things go south."

After a short pause while still looking at the mass of flying rodents, "But that's just my thoughts. Other ideas?"
May 15, 2024 7:14 pm
"I was thinking we could smoke them out if need be," Felskrudd says, getting up from the ground and dusting himself off. "We don't know what else waits down here. Would be dumb to sneak past and then have to flee right into angry riled up vampire bats."
May 15, 2024 10:20 pm
"Aye, let’s smoke ‘em out!" Lothar says, agreeing with Silvergrin. "Bind a couple of torches together, wrap some rags ‘round it to make lots of smoke… we’ll send these little bastards flutterin’ skyward!"

If we smoke them out won't they come back? Though if you want I can create fire if needed.
May 16, 2024 4:52 am
"Simple as," Lothar says confidently. "Once they leave, we burn the nest!"
May 16, 2024 9:33 am
"Have you ever smelled burning guano?" Krisanna asks as she ties a bandana around her face.
May 17, 2024 1:54 am
Lothar looks knowingly at Kris and smiles. "Now you know I 'ave, lass..."
