Is Chatty Cathy the narrator, the one doing green text? I don't think she was ever mentioned by name, at least not in public. I was actually really unsure about whether we even hear the green text, wanted to ask about it eventually. :'D

Yeah, I swapped the clip to show the full game instead. Either video gets to the Energize bit just as quickly.



The Green Text is going to be apparent fairly soon, maybe. But it’s not Cathy. I just wrote her in as an excuse for how Casanova and Kurumi know the names of people at Pub, now that Blabbit’s away.

Johnny Piano is the game music and Chatty Catchy is the exposition / IC knowledge.

Green text… it’s OoC knowledge, but feel free to have your character get a vague feeling from whatever it says. Dig Doug was being influenced by the words.

Yes, I know those intimately. I won't say how many quarters were lost to Dragon's Lair though probably less than to Gauntlet and Street Fighter.

Yeah, Gauntlet and Marble Madness were at the roller skating rink, which is where I would go to play arcade games while wearing rented skates (and sometimes skate). I think Gauntlet ate many of my quarters.

I tested on my "test game" to see if "Drink for Casanova" would trigger food as long as I inserted "P5" in the reason.

I actually rolled the 19!

(Calling the beer "Root Beer" is a reference to Root Beer Tapper, which was the sequel to Tapper. Same game, but with A&W as the sponsor instead of Budweiser.)

Also, the colored text looks good if you use Dark Mode. On the default white background, my "bright green" text is regular green.

I had you off-camera.

The party is split. Kurumi and Casanova are in the pub (called "Pub"), and Pira and Princess Diamond are in a weird cartoon-game situation. You can barge into either scene.

If you enter the corn maze, I think you need to enter through a wall of corn as destructively as one can through a ten-foot-tall wall of corn stalks. (That would not slow you down in any way if you want to attack the scarecrow.)

Either scene will lead to some sort of "boss fight."

Nah, nothing to do there. I was basically giving the princess a couple Dragon’s Lair-like challenges, which are normally solved by a single action.

Since a hit (1 success) can cause a complication (by normal L&F rules), I thought a 50% chance of the pitchfork falling at a player (if I rolled your player #, the princess’ or Thundra’s) would be a fun visual.

I’ll move every scene forward sometime today. (But my next post after today will be on the 8th.)

Also, have one of my favourite Baba Yaga versions! It's from a children movie where two kids save the granddaughter of Grandad Frost from a folkloric necromancer. Baba Yaga here is a member of a music band with two other fairy tale creatures. :D In this clip she's pretending to be a kind forest fairy while also kinda singing about how she wants to cook children. It's a fun movie.


And here are all three of the music band villains during a chase! Kid me loved this song, and I'd say I still do. Sadly I don't think there is a version with subtitles, but the gist of the song probably is understandable. XD
