Yeah. My choices were to be flexible or to point out a rigid rule and make Ysolde redo her turn. Here’s my thought process on that:
The rule
was written for a reason. If engineers can work it so one heals the ship and someone else reloads, and you can do that every round, I can never crash the ship. I don’t
want to crash the ship. But I do want it to be possible.
So why be flexible? Letting an engineer reload in a round in which a 🚀 was not used still means you can’t heal and reload one round after another.
But now that I’ve allowed that, there’s nothing stopping someone from using a 🚀 first and then another player immediately reloads in the same round. If that happens, I’ll keep the
LOADING screen lit up for an additional round. (And because I’m flexible, yes, someone could still load the other 🚀 while the load-screen is lit.)
Sadly, this flexible side is me as a teacher.
[ +- ] My Rule on Eating in Class
As soon as a student says "I’m hungry," I am probably going to cave on this rule! (But the ants are gross, so I’m gonna tell myself, "this is the hill you die on! It’s this hill or the anthill!")
