None of these questions have to be written in stone before we play. It's just food for thought in character design.

Here's a question I'd like to pose to you all:

Would you like to have known each other (a little or a lot) before The Apocalypse? Or would you rather be independents who were suddenly thrust together?

I don't mind. Maybe we know each other in the game but not what we do IRL.

Yeah, I think we could have known each other in the game, perhaps we could have belonged to the same guild? But often for MMO friends, we may not exactly know much about each other's private lives. This would give the party a good reason to band together when the apocalypse happened too. I don't mind if other people prefer it another way though.

Sorry, I was busy yesterday and didn't get a chance to check things out. I will probably play a weapon master, either an assassin or swashbuckler. The Grim Reaper style seems pretty cool, KO-ing mobs with a giant scythe! :D

Thanks for the update!

Assassins are great damage dealers in a lot of ways & Swashbucklers are good combatants with enhanced criticals and hand out Negative Status effects with successful weapon hits.

Feel free to play whatever catches your eye. As I've said in a post or two above, some of the character creation stuff is written from an in-game perspective.

I'm finishing up the Pirate and Sorcerer Classes. Monk is next up to go in so it should be in for you to check up on tomorrow.

Everyone can feel free to go ahead and Submit their character sheet. It can be edited at any time so you can continue to work on it after you submit it. Submitting it will let you start to Post as your character.

Anyone unfamiliar with the process? I can walk you through it, if so. It's a pretty easy process.

I'm assuming they're a minor? (Just to clarify). Sounds like the character will have lots of good plot hooks!

I've got a few more logistical questions:

What does the world around us look like? Is it a realistic version of the game, or is it clearly still a video game world? Do our new bodies look like real people or stylized video game characters? Do we see floating HP bars, monster levels, menu pop-ups and such, or are those things just behind the scenes?

Oh, and do we start with any equipment?

Equipment? Certainly!
That's something we'll discuss once characters care a bit more solidly definite. Equipment should be fun and flavorful! Also, useful.

To answer your other questions:
•The new world will be as real seeming as this one...other than the obvious additions like monsters, magic, cat/wolf/fox people and the like. It's a post apocalyptic world that resembles modem day in a lot of ways but is crumbling, fading and wildly overgrown. (I'll AI up some examples and post em for you.)
•There is a UI (User Interface) that the characters discover and it does feature HP/MP bars, Monster levels, and a host of other information that a player would have access to. How it works is part of the discovery process. It's not a constant thing though; not always visible.
•Characters are on the stylized side... Not 8-Bit sprites but definitely not 'normal' human looking. The images in the "8 Good Races" drop-down in the Character Creation Thread are a good approximation. J-Pop and Anime influenced, as if made from the game's character creation screen, but with details the creep through from the player.
