@witchdoctor Does Grace’s action advance the clock, as she’s not actually trying to hurt the archer but prevent her from shooting anyone?

Also does Tabby's initial "Get 'em!" count retroactively to the clock? That's what I was trying to do, I just didn't jam the mechanics.

I don't think Grace's action would advance the Clock since it's directed at Serena rather than at the Lowbie Mob.

@GreyGriffin: I think that's a fair valid point. Did he make a Roll for it? If not, give us a retroactive roll DC 8. I'd guess maybe INS+WILL?

"Get 'em!"

Rolls

Get 'em! - (1d10, 1d10)

1d10 : (10) = 10

1d10 : (2) = 2

Okay, then I’ll stick to the current action and try inspiring the crowd in Round 3.

What’s important to Grace (I think) is knowing whether her grapple works. She doesn’t have to know whether she’s circumnavigating the game’s code (or level differences) by holding the archer’s arms. (And OoC, I got a damn good roll considering my modest strength stat, so I know if it works it is game mechanics IRL.) So she might have a logical flaw in her interpretation, but I think I know what I want her to say in Round 3.

You might know that Pathfinder has Diplomacy, Bluff/Deception, Intimidation, and D&D probably has at least three talky skills. Would FabU have different rolls for different methods of persuasion, or is it going to be INSP + WILL no matter how Grace tries to persuade?

EDIT - if 8 was the DC, I think the clock just has two more successes to go!

FabU has different rolls for different situations. Some of the examples it gives are Ins/Wil for negotiations, Wil/Wil for an earnest appeal, and Str/Wil for trying to intimidate someone with physical force.

Sorry for being so quite lately. I'm having serious focusing problems with how busy my life has been lately.

That's understandable. Things got really hectic for a lot of us during Helene and then Milton. RL issues always come first. Jump in whenever you feel like playing. These games should be fun & never a chore.

Speaking of which, I know I'm running a little late. I should be able to get a post out after work tonight.

Sure thing. I was going to post an update tonight so you should have time to get yours in.

@vyshian Calamity needs a Might+Agility roll for her Powderkeg attack, please.

I added the roll to my post.

@witchdoctor Are we moving the clock forward with some of our moves? That was Grace’s intention. I just want to know if it’s working. (Y’know… definition of insanity is to try the same thing and expect a different result.)

Note that this question was asked before I posted my turn. So did Grace move the clock on her previous turn with the good roll? This turn… well, it’s for the best she at least didn’t fight back. I’d be more annoyed if she abandoned her principles *and* missed.

Yeah. There's a Clock Counter at the top of the Status Update. You guys have pushed it to 5 of 6 segments completed.
Oct 27, 2024 1:19 am
Oh, I see it now! So… hopefully someone who acts before the enemy can push that to six.

This is tough. Clara would not be able to just stand by and watch Grace being killed. Her instinct would be to charge forwards and protect Grace and Raquel, but I'm not sure about the relative distance and whether she could make it in one turn. I'm also running out of ideas to rally the crowd. Even if we complete the clock, seems like they wouldn't reach the PK party in time before our team was harmed?

I think finishing the clock is worth it.

Surviving Turn 3 will still be tough. Not sure if finishing the clock on a higher initiative than the enemy prevents them from attacking.

@vyshian if the DC is still 8, we might be good from that reroll.

If not, you can do a bond invoke for a flat bonus, if you have a relevant positive bond. (I believe only Grace had already spent 2 points prior to this turn!)

Unfortunately I don't have any bonds at the moment. Maybe I should form one during our next resting scene.

@DrifterDwarf I just saw that fumble. Guess we spent all our luck on initiative already.

Yep, I just had to laugh at it. I'm surprised Max isn't dead already, so here we go!!!
