That's perfectly fine. Threading conversations can be tricky, especially with the topic jumping around a bit. I appreciate the effort to keep things clear!

Also, I'm not super happy with the image of the Guild Building. I'll replace it with a better one. Just wanted to put that out there to eliminate the confusion when it changes.
Here's the new image:

Hey all, wanted to apologize for disappearing. It was a combination of trying to pull family members out of a doom spiral, and the busy season hitting my job. Things are settling down now though, so I'm eager to get back into the mix, if that's alright.

Glad to have you back! Jump in wherever you'd like Wheeler to be. I think the group is currently split between hanging out near the Silver Leaf Beam Tree and in the Cathedral.

Welcome back. Hope your family is doing okay. I understand how busy things get sometimes. My job's also been hectic lately, which is why my posting frequency was on and off.

My impression is that most people on GP get that Life Happens, so it’s generally not held against you if you disappear and reappear. We all go through busy times and hard times, and it’s nice to game in a community that treats others as real people with lives outside of the one or two (or five) games we share.

Short version: welcome back!!!

I think it'll be alright. Bit of a one-two punch between the SO getting most of their news via Tiktok post-election, and her little brother getting pulled over and charged with a DUI (he says he wasn't, and I believe him seeing as how he has a medical condition where drinking alcohol would be a quick trip straight to the ER). She's settled down a bit, and he's got a new job in walking distance of his home and has a scheduled meeting with an attorney on Monday. I think he's got a good chance of getting the case dismissed (though he'll still have to pay damages for the crosswalk light he took out and the damage to his car).

I've had a few bad bounces in that regard, admittedly, so I'll apologize if I seem a little unsure when this happens. Still, glad to be back. Should finish catching up tonight, and be in a position to post when I get back from work tomorrow.

I'm sorry things have been rough but we're glad to have you back!

I’m assuming (1) the PK-ers know Grave is Lv.12, a.k.a. non-threatening, and (2) a Lv.45+ character with no unarmed combat skill is still able to use their fists, so being unarmed just makes them less dangerous than they are, but still at a huge advantage vs. Grace and Raquel in a two-on-two.

Grace wants to meet in the city, where it’s still No PvP. If they agree to a guard standing by, she will ask the guard if No PvP means they can’t harm each other.

If you want to narrate this happening, and skip to the meeting—if @Dmbrainiac, Serena and Boaty all agree to a peaceful private meeting, that’s fine too. I mostly (in the OoC post) am trying to establish Grace is taking some measure of precaution, but I don’t feel the need to RP every step of that since it’s probably overkill.

I’m down with it. Raquel hasn’t had much to add to what Grace is saying set so she’ll just play the strong silent bodyguard for now. :)

Please let me know if the quote-heavy posts are too chunky and hard to read. I'm trying to keep everything threaded together as much as I can and keep everyone involved, but it's certainly not very beautiful. >.<

Also... where are we geographically? My guess is, like... Montreal?

>>>Mound City is roughly East St. Louis, Illinois. Tabby (and anyone else who's a returning, experienced former player) would also know that the Mississippi River (or the Elder Tales equivalent) is the 'server boundary' dividing the Eusa (Eastern U.S.) and Wesa (Western U.S.) servers. Server boundaries could only be crossed at certain points, Mound City being one of those.

>>>The quote blocks do help keep conversations a bit more coherent. I think it's easier on my side since I have different NPC characters involved in different conversations so it's easier to identify what part of the narrative is being addressed. Quite blocks in player responses are helpful given the lack of that crutch I tend to rely on. I find it helpful but I'm not everyone...

>>>Serena and her cohort can access the same information Grace and the others can about each other through the Status Box (Name, Class, SubClass, Level, etc.) so they're aware of what level they are. Probably why they thought the whole thing would be a piece of cake and not be a 'big deal' (to them anyway).

>>>As Grace understood things, they'd be meeting with Malbraith, Serena and her Crew, and some other interested parties in the Guild Building so there would be some guarantee of protection from the 'no PvP' mechanics as well as a bunch of other people around who are already pretty upset at what went down.

Yeah, that makes sense. So Grace’s offer should probably get a response like ‘the guild meeting is private enough, see ya there.’

As far as her concerns go, Serena wanting to talk is a step in the right direction.

@witchdoctor , did you want it to wrap like this?

https://i.imgur.com/fzT170gs.pngBradL33: "Not to interrupt your sightseeing at the Cathedral but we're headed over to the Guild Building for that meeting that SilverOath guy, Malbraith, mentioned. Are you guys going to meet us there?"

Yes. That's it.

I tried 'float-left' & that didn't work for me. Nm. I see how you did that. Format tag within a format tag. 👍🏾

Honestly, I learned a lot from your GM posts. If you’ve read any Hero•Girl•Sprite (⚠️warning: weirdness, Nintendo-ripoffery), I’ve been using little boxes for the NPCs.

It’s a lot easier (to me anyway) than having a bunch of NPC headings, and as an added bonus, the image is bigger.

I know, still a little behind. Going to write up another post for arriving at the Guild Meeting when I get back from work, but there were some things I wanted to cover.

If you want me to spend a Fabula Point to establish anything from that first paragraph, I'll gladly do so.

>>>H-G-S is a fun game and I love how bright and colorful the whole thing looks and feels. You started that game a bit before I started this game and it kind of inspired me to do more with the formatting and images.
>>>Despite the fact I exclusively post from my phone, I assume most people interact with GamersPlane via desktop and have a bigger screen so I never thought about the NPC images needing to be bigger.

>>>Definitely no FP needed to justify any of that. It's all pretty in-line with the source material. Glad you got a chance to chime in! I saw your post right after I dropped the introductions post. I try not to gloss over anyone or run roughshod over conversations when I can avoid it. Let me know if you need me to slow my roll a bit.

Wow… I had no idea my first attempt at running a game on GP could have inspired anyone. Thanks!

You're good. I'd rather you continue your pace, and I catch up, than have you slow down the game on my behalf. I'm just scrubbing a little rust off the gears, getting back in the swing of things.
