Thanks for your patience! I got hit with a mid-week work swamp all the way up to this Saturday's deliverable. All good now, can't wait to grease your robot gears!

By the way, does anyone have a preference for using it vs they pronouns for the robots (when not specifically stated, I imagine PCs each have their own)? I've been using exclusively it because the book said to, but I wanted to check if maybe anyone does have a preference? Since I can go with either!
Oh I've been meaning to ask if we had preferred pronouns! But I was holding off because I figured there'll be a plot moment for which the robots recognise or admit their own sentience, and that would be the moment we'd use the correct pronouns. What do you think?

For now, I'm using they for robots, and it for drones.

Sounds good to me! :D

I'll probably stick with Halcyon thinking about every machine as it until they request otherwise, since it probably wouldn't have been programmed to think of robots in the same way as humans. (Except maybe companion ones, since they would be maintaining an illusion of humanity, right?) Unless it bothers anyone, then I can just as easily go with they.

I don't care either way. Sid generally refers to Drones as it and Robots as they in their thoughts, I doubt in speech they'll use anything other then names though.

That being said Sid views it as somewhat more negative, than They.
How long has everyone been around, pretty much everyone Sid knew has fallen into disrepair/died at some point I assume much the same for Halycon but I'm curious about the others are they a newer model of robot, older or somewhere in between?

I generally use it for drones, they for other robots and he for Sir. Feels more natural for me because of his name.

But I don't mind either way, feel free to use it/they/he with my robot. =)

I will take my cue from all of you then, I don't mind any direction you take. Let your descriptors be part of how you characterise your PCs.

Oh by the way, do you still need me to post up the Players' Section?

Also, feel free to read each others' threads if you like. I have no concerns about player knowledge vs character knowledge.

I was using "it" to follow what the rulebook was doing. But it does feel a little unnatural. I think I'll switch to "they".

I wasn't quite sure about how old Halcyon is, but I'm leaning towards it having witnessed at least some humans - so probably pretty old! Maybe manufactured in the last decade before the humans disappeared? Not enough to be ancient, but still old.

I wouldn't mind it, just in case we ever change our modules and stuff?

How long has it been since the humans left?

Great question ;)

Lemme clip the next chapter of the player section in, that one has a bit of history included, and the robots would generally have all of this as common knowledge.

The humans haven't been around decades, they all up and left one day, with the instructions to keep doing, keep producing what it takes 'to win'.

Mechatron is getting increasingly resource scarce though where it counts. On the flip side there's all this stuff being produced that's totally useless.

@BedzoneII I just noticed that we are using default dice rules.

A possibility to make it easier for us to see the number of success, is to go to Advanced Rule Definitions and click on the "Tales from the Loop" button, then save. It would automatically count the number of success (ie. 6s) for us, I think.

Of course that's not needed, and if you don't wanna that's ok, but I think it's a nice feature to enable. If you need any help, just let me know =)

Rolls

Testing dice - (10d6)

(6661642424) = 41

Thanks htech, I totally should've thought of that!

And I spoke too soon regarding your first roll being an easy one. :P
May 23, 2024 10:34 am
Thank you! Now its easier to see the single 6 among 13 dice in Sir's roll! =)

I loled at the single 6! Go ahead and add a little narrative post to that roll, something to the effect of a success, but barely. I'll reply to say Ducter's a bit reticient and evasive, but will still say stuff.

At least you got a 6. :'D

Sorry folks, had a little health scare so I needed to pop into hospital two days ago. All good and discharged, nothing to worry too much about. I even managed some posts while lying there, but couldn't get to my GM notes at home.

Am back, just thought to explain the delay. New posts are in!

No worries at all! Your health comes first. Glad to hear you're doing better and were able to get discharged.

Thanks for the update and for getting back to the game. Looking forward to even more posts!

I feel good, thanks for the concern, I'm just at that age where if there are strange inexplicable symptoms, it's always best to get it check out earliest, and thankfully I did.

Loved the HAL reference by the way!

Good to hear it was nothing worrying, BedzoneII! :D
