Crow shares his thought on the matter "We should have reached town by now…Some kind of magic, no doubt related to this fog has lead us…elsewhere…by the sound of those wolves I think we should find ourselves a defensible position."

OOC:
Jerinvar will have Fauntleroy return to him. If needed, Jerinvar will provide a "locating" sound to guide the owl to him. It would be a sound they'd previously utilized.

The growling of the wolves is getting louder... closer. Some Growls sound a lot louder then others. It feels like the wolves are trying to get you to turn around.
The fog around you is getting thicker so much that it is getting harder to breathe and even think...
OOC:
Red dots are possible wolves. You can not see them at all do to the Fog.
@MaJunior,@Basil,@Sardis I need Con saves from all of you. If your familiars are out (As in not in the pocket diamension) I need one from them also.

Yes Fauntleroy made it back. They were not that far away to cause it an issue.

Not Poison related.

The wolves seem to want us to turn around? Go back the way we came? I thought they were trying to herd us
Jun 6, 2024 4:35 pm
Jerinvar ponders on the actions...and inactions...of the wolves and can only draw a single conclusion:

"I know not what is in our best interest but if those wolves wanted to, they could have attacked us by now. As we move farther in the direction we've been going in, the fog has gotten thicker and it has gotten harder to breath. Perhaps their instincts know something that we do not. I suggest we stay alert but retreat the way we came."

@Basil,@Sardis. All three fail the Con save and receive 1 level of exhaustion. I haven't heard from @MaJunior in a bit, but we are going to continue. MaJunior I am going to pick on your character but everything will be fine in the end. Giving Jorah 4 Levels of Exhaustion.
[ +- ] Exhaustion
Dr. Crow and Jerinvar, increasingly uneasy, realize they should have reached the town by now. The absence of any sounds or lights from the town is profoundly unsettling. As they carefully turn around, their eyes still on the wolf patrol trailing them, the dense fog and their exhaustion make the search for freedom even harder. Jorah seems to be succumbing to the fog more than the others—he moves sluggishly, loses focus, and struggles to stay awake.

After what feels like an eternity, the party spots a few dozen flickering street lamps in the distance. Hope flickers briefly, only to be snuffed out as the lights start to flicker and fade, one by one, leaving only a few dim remnants. The howls and growls of the wolves grow louder and closer, their number seemingly increasing, filling the air with an ominous symphony.

Seeing Jorah struggling, Jerinvar moves closer to him in case the man gets to a point where he needs help to stand. The elf's mind races at trying to figure out what is going on. It doesn't take long to conclude that whatever it is is beyond his understanding. He had no idea what they should do to escape this madness. He frantically looks around for any clue as to where they should go.

Can Dr. Crow use his medicine skill to see if he can help? I know you said this wasn't poison... but i thought id ask anyways
Jun 7, 2024 3:58 pm
Jerinvar - Looking around you think the lights could mean a town of some sort is ahead of you. There might be a safe location to lodge for the night. The lights are still a good distance (1/2 Mile ish) but somehow you can see them through the dense fog.
OOC:
Yes, you can roll Medicine or Arcana.
Jun 7, 2024 4:20 pm
OOC:
if possible, Jerinvar will use a help action to give Dr. Crow advantage on a medicine check if he makes one. I don't think he'dbe able to help much with an arcana check.
Jun 7, 2024 4:36 pm
Dr. Crow tries to ascertain what is going from a medical perspective… apart from the symptoms they are all experiencing he considers a few other factors while narrowing down a diagnosis.

1. It seems to be related to the fog… inhaled…
2. It can affect Bella…who is immune to poison
OOC:
I never said he was a good Dr!

Rolls

Dr. Crow: Medicine - (1d20+3)

(5) + 3 = 8

Jun 7, 2024 4:55 pm
OOC:
You would have Disadvantage on the Medicine roll due to exhaustion. So Jerinvar giving help would be a straight roll.

You got it pretty much right. Something possibly magical or cursed about the fog that is causing all of you to get extremely tired.

Having looked very attentively to their surroundings he relays his hunch to the others:

"I think the lights could mean that there is a town of some sort ahead of us. There might be a safe location to lodge for the night. The lights are still a good distance away, half a mile or so, but somehow I'm still able to see them through this dense fog."
