The new group of 3

May 10, 2024 2:47 pm
@MaJunior,@Basil (I will mention Sardis when they join)

Welcome.
The three of you will be starting in The Village of Barovia.

https://i.imgur.com/1loQDon.jpeg

I trying to figure out the full timeline for the three of you.
But main points are:
The three of you out in the woods for some reason. (You three can decided together)
You were attacked by wolves/werewolves.
Running through the woods you came upon The Village of Barovia.
That was maybe 3-4 days ago.
You found a house that was safe to hide out in.
A few of you were severly injuried.
You have been healing and dealing with wounds.
You have explored a little bit of the town

You have found:
E1. Bildrath's Mercantile but have little coin and their prices are expesive. 10x normal PHB cost.
E2. Blood of the Vine Tavern the 3 owners were very rude.
There is also a constant sound of a lady crying. It sound like she is very sad.

Traveling about the village is not safe at night. A large horde of zombies come out and wonder the village.

@MaJunior,@Basil,@Sardis

Now that the 3 of you have all joined,.

Do you have any questions or ideas about the information above?
May 11, 2024 1:15 pm
Not yet... although that may change.
May 11, 2024 1:21 pm
I'll post this, from my individual thread, here as others may want the answers as well:

Are those of this new group following the same Diplomacy route as indicated from the original game description?

If so, I have thoughts of a College of Eloquence Bard, Rogue Inquisitive.

Is custom lineage an acceptable racial option?
Also, I can see MaJunior's personal thread but not Basil's...should I be able to see both or should I see neither?

Character Creation Rules.
27 Point buy or Roll 4d6kh3. If you don't like your Roll you can switch to Point Buy.
Starting 3st Level
All WotC allow. No UA, No Homebrew.
Race - ERLW Marks, VRGR, AAG and MoT not allowed.
Background - SCC, AAG, DSotDQ not allowed.
Starting Equipment & Background Equipment OR Roll for Gold.

Custom Lineage is allowed.
Current Party makeup is:
Human Warlock (hexblade)
Fairy Rogue (Unsure)
Half-Elf Paladin (Unsure)
Tabaxi Ranger (Going Animal Companion)

I think Basil was thinking of either Rogue or Warlock also.

The three of you should chat about what you are building, keeping in mind what the party already has and what I said above.
The player we lost was a Fighter but you don't have to play that.
I was working on Permission late at night they should be fixed this morning.
May 11, 2024 2:59 pm
What do you think guys?

My plan was to go rogue (Inquisitive)/Bard (college of Eloquence) with a primary focus on Persuasion, Deception, Perception, and Insight.

I believe the other rogue in the group is an Arcane Trickster, so likely more stealth, Sleight of hand, etc...and a little rogue overlap isn't generally a bad thing.

By the looks of it, a cleric/healer might be a good idea, but several of my latest characters were clerics and would like to try something different.

What are you two thinking of playing?
May 11, 2024 3:18 pm
Ehh, I'm still debating. My stat roll was... bad. I mean the 18 was great but other than that? So I'm going point buy -- which stings, with an 18 and all.

Might do Sorcerer with a dip in fighter. The problem there is starting gear... so maybe I just take some version of Cleric?
May 11, 2024 4:24 pm
twilight cleric could be cool... Im going warlock... DM are you allowing custom backgrounds?
May 11, 2024 4:25 pm
Custom in what why?
If you mean you can pick and choose which skills, proficiency, and such, yeah, that is fine.
May 11, 2024 4:30 pm
When I play clerics, I've found twilight clerics to be quite fun. My last was a Tortle. Its natural AC + a shield allowed it to wade into battle quite effectively:)
May 11, 2024 4:31 pm
yup thats pretty much it! Background is Dr. / Physic - just about done on paper will put him together on GP later today... in a nutshell, The Dr from hell, and hes got a great smile. might need a bit of help with the backgroung "Feature"
May 11, 2024 4:33 pm
Basil, what subclass are you aiming for?focusing on Eldritch Blast? Or something else?
May 11, 2024 5:11 pm
main attack will be eldritch blast, but will be taking pact of the chain? What class are you taking? Just a group suggestion but of course play however you want... maybe as a group we are a bit "darker" not murder hobo evil but maybe a darker shade of gray
May 11, 2024 6:36 pm
Debating between Life, Tempest, and Arcana domains.

Arcana would focus on Booming Blade since they add the WIS modifier to a Cleric Cantrip (which Booming Blade would be).

Tempest would, at level 6, use an ability to imbue a weapon with Lightning damage and be able to smack enemies 15 feet away.

Life would focus on healing, as one would expect. Probably take a feat to cast Goodberry, so each berry heals a flat 4hp and is food for the day.

Thoughts?
May 11, 2024 7:01 pm
I played a life cleric once, and it was useful and powerful...but I found it boring. Arcana and tempest sound cool and having someone around that can do some smacking would be nice!
May 11, 2024 7:03 pm
Thoughts on this custom background feature... I modeled after the Noble background feature "Position of Privelede"

Feature: Healers Esteem

Due to your invaluable medical knowledge and healing skills, people hold you in high regard. You are respected across various strata of society, and individuals naturally offer you their trust and cooperation. The common folk go out of their way to assist you and steer clear of upsetting you, while those in positions of power recognize the importance of your work.

Your reputation as a healer grants you access to circles that might otherwise be closed off, including the ability to request an audience with local authorities or nobility should the need arise.

Your presence is a sign of hope and relief, and as such, doors that are closed to others often open for you.
May 11, 2024 7:04 pm
Few things.

I don't care if you are evil but murder hobo would not be the best for this campaign.
Actions have consequences. And straight death can be a consequences.
In party fight will be allowed but you can not kill anyone. Knocking them unconscious is a possibility.

I also ask that you do try an Power build or try and cheese stuff. You can try something interesting but not everything you see on some tik tok build will really work.

Your characters will find magic items. I am not a fan of high ac characters. You might find some magic armor or shields but it will not give you +x it will give you features or abilities or trade offs.

May 11, 2024 7:46 pm
Background seems good :)

Basil/MaJunior: Thoughts on my going College of Eloquence Bard, Inquisitive Rogue?
May 11, 2024 7:57 pm
Sounds similar to my warlock but with a differnt flavor. We have the social scene covered!
May 11, 2024 8:37 pm
At 3rd level this character, with silver Tongue from College of Eloquence, will have Persuasion and Deception checks with a minimum result of 18...20 come 4th level.
@Smiley

what level do you expect this game to reach?

See, that's why I decided a Sorcerer wasn't needed. Lmao
May 11, 2024 8:44 pm
Actually, I may delay bard 3 until next level, going:

Rogue 1/Bard 2

This would allow an additional skill proficiency, proficiency with thieves tools, use of Theives' Cant, and SA +1d6 to give me a bit more usefulness in combat.
May 11, 2024 8:51 pm
I hope this campaign to go to high levels Not quiet to 20 but maybe that high.

Just remember, just because you roll high to try and presuade or lie to someone doesn't always mean you will get the effect you want.
Some people can not be stubborn or not able to do something you wish.
May 11, 2024 9:01 pm
Thats when you use "Intimidation" hehe!
May 11, 2024 9:09 pm
He'll have Intimidate as well, but won't benefit from Silver Tongue unfortunately :)

At best, request some sort of reasonable discount.

We have an Arcane Cleric, Fiend Warlock, And a rogue/Bard.

How do you all know each other? You have been traveling with each other for a while.
You were just attacked in the woods and are taking refuge in boarded up house.
May 13, 2024 9:38 pm
Well, Jorah is nomadic, so... he can easily have ran into either of you randomely. He has a bit of the wanderlust, and is pretty good at the great outdoors.

Perhaps our fiend warlock has trouble staying in one place because people inevitably find out what he is?
May 13, 2024 9:42 pm
Traveling physician!
May 14, 2024 12:55 pm
Question. Would this apply only to creatures i personally kill, or will it also work with things my familiar kills? I have taken pact of the chain.

Dark One's Blessing
Starting at 1st level, when you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + your warlock level (minimum of 1).
May 14, 2024 2:20 pm
According to RAW It would be only when you kill something.

I need to figure out how I want it to work because we do Group Initiative.
I tend to move damages around to be the most efficient for the party.

A few things about Temp HP to remember.
It doesn't stack.
If you kill 3 creatures in the same turn it would only be 6THP not 18THP.
You also loose all THP at the of a Long Rest.
May 14, 2024 2:30 pm
Yup all clear on that! thanks for confirming... i hate for things to go one way when you expected it to go another

Dr Crow coming to life!

Warlock Patron - Bel Lord of the 9 Hells

Dr. Thaddeus Crow, a physician of mediocre skill, labored in the dimly lit back rooms of the city’s obscure clinics. His ambition, however, burned brighter than any surgical lamp. Thaddeus yearned for more than mundane healing; he craved immortality—a secret whispered in ancient texts and forbidden scrolls.

One moonless night, a shadowy figure materialized in his study. Its eyes glowed like dying embers, and its voice slithered into Thaddeus’s mind."Dr. Crow," it hissed, "...your ambitions are wasted on this mortal realm. I can offer you power beyond your wildest dreams. In exchange, you will serve me. Your patients, your oaths—they matter no more. What say you?"

Thaddeus hesitated, torn between healing and damnation. The fiend’s offer promised not only mastery over life and death but also the elusive elixir of immortality. With a drop of blood, he sealed the pact, and his hands transformed. No longer clumsy, they moved with precision, stitching together life and secrets.

Now, as the Crow-Doctor, Thaddeus wields the fiend’s fire. His clinic teems with desperate souls seeking cures, unaware of the price—their life force drained to fuel his magic. Redemption tugs at him, but shadows cling. The elixir awaits, and Thaddeus wonders: Can he break free, or is he forever bound to the fiend’s dark embrace?

A Traveling physician, a nomad and a psionic rogue/bard walk into a bar.

How did you three meet? Friends from the start? Happenstance?
I would be better if the three of you knew each other before meeting in the woods.

Jorah was traveling about doing some healing. Ran into Dr. Crow saw that some of his healing methods were unconventional.
You questioned him about it started learning from each other a little?

Where does Bard/Rogue come in to this?
Bard/Rogue finds you patients/victims? Finds/steals/aquires medicine the two of you need?
May 15, 2024 1:56 pm
Maybe the rogue part of the bard bit off more than he could chew and needed a bit of healing.
May 15, 2024 5:28 pm
As far as the pc's common thread how we met....can run this through an AI and see what it comes up with. If everyone could give a short description of their character, maybe personal goals and what not ill write up a promp and see what comes up!

Im ready to start rollin

I'm working a 24 hour shift today (only 7 hours in...sigh...lol).

Character sheet submitted.

There are significant changes to this character. Still a Rogue (but an Arcane Trickster vs Inquisitive), and no levels in bard (with plans of taking some levels in Fighter instead, at some point). As for race, a much simpler, reflavored elf with a pet mouse (Urchin background) and a pet owl (find familiar spell).

@Sardis What is your opinion/thoughts on the above.
My plan for you 3 was to wait to join the others once they get to a point (They are close but I am not sure how close due to PBP)
Do the three of you want to roleplay in here while we wait for the others to get to the merging point.

Jerinvar has (street) urchin as a background...perhaps he has lived on the streets all his life(even in between adventuring). He became ill (near death even) and was healed/made better by Dr. Crow in some back alley?

The three of you recently caught wind of a clandestine trade set to take place deep within the shadowy woods beyond the village of Tardide. Word has it that a reclusive apothecary, known to the locals for his mysterious remedies, has concocted a miraculous cure-all cream. The exchange is rumored to be scheduled for the stroke of midnight at the moss-covered ruins of an ancient watchtower. Determined to acquire this coveted elixir by any means necessary, you prepare to venture into the eerie forest, where moonlight barely penetrates the dense canopy and the air is thick with the whispers of old secrets.
OOC:
@MaJunior,@Basil,@Sardis Can the three of you describe/post an image of your character.
You have arrived at the watchtower about an hour before the exchange it suppose to go down. What would your plan be to get the goods?

Dr. Crow appears as an older, swarthy male half elf. Slender and tall, his dress is of fine quality, but that of a traveler. Dr Crow is an engaging empathic conversationalist with a bedside manner to match.

[ +- ] Jorah

Jorah is a young man, his bright eyes always alert in his quest for knowledge. He isn't much of a people person, having spent many of his formative years drifting through the world learning what he could, when he could. He knows he isn't smart in the traditional sense, but sees pragmatism as more valuable than book smarts. He generally believes in helping people who need it, and as such has put his divine abilities to work helping the average person overcome injury many times without fee. He has had small hamlets and outposts ask him to stay, but his drive to wander is stronger than any promise of coin or status.

Every so often, he sends a animal messager to a contact. That contact meets him at an arranged place for a trade.
Pip's merchandise is always top notch. You have been able to sample some of his goods in the past. A pipe weed that could mellow an owlbear, Some strange green booze that made everyone glow for a week, and a few other quiet, delightful, but unique items.

The rumors the three of you were able to hear and research afterwards were that the Blackthorns are interested in the Cure-All-Cream.

The Blackthorns
Husband: Garik "Ironhand" Blackthorn
Appearance: Garik is a burly man with a rugged, weathered face marked by a deep scar running from his left temple to his jaw. His dark hair is cropped short, and his piercing green eyes seem to miss nothing. He often wears a leather vest adorned with various trinkets taken from his victims, over a roughspun shirt.
Personality: Garik is cunning and ruthless, known for his quick temper and iron will. Despite his harsh demeanor, he has a fierce loyalty to his wife and a protective nature towards those he considers family.
Skills: Skilled in hand-to-hand combat and proficient with a crossbow. His nickname, "Ironhand," comes from his unparalleled strength and his ability to handle nearly any weapon with ease. He also has a knack for setting traps.

Wife: Lira "Shadowstep" Blackthorn
Appearance: Lira is slender and agile, with long, raven-black hair that falls in waves around her shoulders. Her striking blue eyes are always alert, and she moves with the grace of a dancer. She often wears dark, close-fitting clothes that allow her to blend into the shadows.
Personality: Lira is intelligent and calculating, the brains behind their operations. She is charming when she needs to be, using her wits and allure to manipulate others. Her love for Garik is evident in their interactions, though she remains fiercely independent.
Skills: An expert in stealth and subterfuge, Lira excels at moving silently and remaining unseen. She is proficient with daggers and poisons, and she has a talent for lockpicking and sneaking into heavily guarded places.

Background
Garik and Lira Blackthorn, known collectively as the Blackthorn, are a low-level bandit duo infamous for their small-time heists and robberies around the outskirts of Tardide. Despite their modest beginnings, they have built a reputation for being both formidable and elusive, often striking under the cover of darkness and disappearing without a trace. Their latest scheme involves acquiring the fabled cure-all cream from the reclusive apothecary, a treasure they believe will elevate their status among the criminal underworld.

Motives
The Blackthorn are always on the lookout for opportunities to increase their wealth and influence. The miraculous cream represents not only a potential fortune but also a means to secure their future endeavors. They are determined to obtain it at any cost, making them formidable opponents for anyone attempting to thwart their plans.
May 21, 2024 2:04 pm
"You know, unless they can replicate the cream I don't see how this benefits them anyway," Jorah says with a shrug. "Think the wife assumes she can handle it because she knows poisons?"

The young man lounged against the wall in a way that made it look downright comfortable as he watched people wander back and forth about their day. Without looking to the two he had been travelling with, he voices the obvious question: "Or do we assume the husband intends to "Ironhand" the formula out of the apothecary?"
May 21, 2024 2:54 pm
"Given the Blackthorn reputation I would wager the transaction will not go as smoothly as the seller would expect."

"Perhaps we can find a way to make that work in our favor"
May 21, 2024 3:29 pm
"I guess I'm just curious what the Blackthorns think they can accomplish. They can't really think they can produce it," Jorah's voice conveys his disbelief.

"Ooh! Maybe they're going to kidnap the creator and force him to churn out his salve for them to sell?"
May 21, 2024 3:54 pm
"And if we manage a rescue…maybe he would feel obligated to us in some way"

Jerinvar listened to the conversation. Instead of injecting more conjecture, he instead moved to discussing a plan of action:

"Where do you think the best place is for us to create our own ambush so that we might improve our chances of succeeding in this 'rescue'?
May 21, 2024 8:02 pm
"Well we would need to know the route they intend on taking when they leave before we could stage an ambush. Regardless, right now we have no idea what their plan is. Only assumptions unless we can get more intel."

"It's a coin flip" says "Dr Crow. "If they plan on a kidnapping they could either take the gnome back to his lab...or they can take him to their Lair, assuming they do abduct him."

" I can send Bela to spy on them invisibly and monitor whats going on. Based on that, we decide on what to do next. I say lets not commit to a one path or the other, but wait and see. Hide out at a middle point and be prepared to move quickly once we have something solid to move on."

Jorah shrugs. "Honestly? I don't like it. You're assuming they intend to kidnap him. If they're just going to beat the formula out of him then kill him, we need to be close. Or hell," Jorah continues, pushing himself off his spot on the wall, "they may intend to kill him and steal the salve or whatever, because they assume they can figure it out."

Jorah pauses, his eyes following a very pretty elven woman as she walks by.

"Anyway, I just think we need to be close. We may not have time to cover any real distance. And we wouldn't know we didn't have time until we didn't have time."
May 22, 2024 4:46 pm
"Well we cant be everywhere all at once...Bela can cause a distraction long enough for us to get there if it comes to that."
May 22, 2024 4:51 pm
"I think I'll still be at the tower, since that seems like the meeting spot."
May 22, 2024 5:02 pm
"If you are settled on the tower, then I will join you"
May 22, 2024 9:04 pm
Jerinvar didn't involve himself in the bebate had by Jorah and the good Doctor, but rather allowed them to work through their disagreemwnt as to the better plan of action.

"The tower is as good a place as any, and it seems a centerpiece to their place of meeting so only makes sense that it would be their place of meeting."
May 22, 2024 9:45 pm
"It’s settled then. I will send Bela ahead to find us a way in and a hiding place"
May 22, 2024 10:55 pm
Jerinvar nodded in agreement to the doctor's plan, and added, "Once we are in place I can send Fauntleroy to observe one approach direction and Bela can observe the other. Fauntleroy may not be able to turn invisible like Bela, but as an owl he'll be just as invisible, even put in the open.

Survival to find a place that would be good for Hiding. Stealth to Hide. (I asked on discord and I was suggested Survival)

Different picture of the watch tower.
It sort of looks like this but really really old.
The stairs covered in red are no longer there due to them being destroyed and rotten.
There is a 60ft gap between the remaining stairs and the top layer of the tower.
Does that help?

Not to nitpick... you have said 20 ft between the stairs and the top of the tower twice, and now you have said 60 ft between the stairs and the top of the tower twice.

Can we get a triple checked clarification for our planning? I wanna know how far I fall when I roll a 3 and fall. Lol

Shit you are right. Sorry. I typed that up when I was dealing with dinner.

The stairs climb up 20ft.
The rest of the stairs are destoyed.
The top floor is 60ft up from the broken stairs.
There is a 60ft gap between the stairs and the top of the tower.
The tower is a total of 80ft high.
The top floor of the tower has no roof but it does have a few 5ft tall walls that are still standing.

Sorry about the confusion.

The group searches around the area and comes up with a few ideas to hide and steak out the area.

1. You could climb up to the top of the Tower and hunker down.
2. There is a large dead tree a little to the south of the tower that is hollowed out enough 2 of you may fit inside of it.
3. Too the North East there is a large enough bramble of bushes that the party might be able to squeeze inside.

I don't think Jorah can free climb 60 feet (only a +3 to Athletics, statistically he'll fail a roll before he's up), and he doesn't have any movement spells.

Yes that is correct she is out of range of my direct control and ability to use her senses. She is acting independently of me doing her own thing based un general instructions. As she is setient with decent inteligence and a fiend, I figure she has some ability be devious, spy and otherwise do a few things on her own. She is in effect a loyal minion.

She is is to find, spy and report back immediately if its urgent, otherwise just follow and share relevant intel when shes back in range.

The party, having arrived a few hours earlier than the transaction was to take place, has set up shop.
The three of you hunker down. Hiding in the bramble of bushes and in the old dead tree.
Bela, invisible, hides in the direction the Blackthorns are supposed to arrive, and Fauntleroy is sitting perched in a tree where Pip is supposed to travel from.

The silver sliver of the moon is almost ready to peek into the sky as the minutes tick by.
Bela, perched in a tree, does not notice any movement in the woods—no sign of the Blackthorns.

Fauntleroy and the party do not notice anything either, besides a single Raven that flies up and perches on top of the old, ruined watchtower.

Both Bella and Dr. Crow understand that a fiend is rarely welcome. Therefore by default she remains invisible. When scouting as in moving invisible Raven form. When trying to get closer a really small invisible spider….

In this case, Invisible Raven form, land and then get close as an invisible spider. Watch, Listen and stay close.

From the conversation, sounds like we may have killed he gnomes familiar, from the brutes concern…Dr. Crow wonders if the woman has a health condition… The spider gets closer so the Dr can get a better look and maybe make a diagnosis.

Insight checks to get the emotional state of the duo. Is he concerned about her welfare? Is she worried
that maybe the gnome wont show?
Medicine check to see if there are any clues with on the woman’s health.

Bella also has insight skill

Let me know if any rolls are warranted.

From Bela paying attention to the Blackthorns it does not appear anything is wrong. They are just bored and impatient.
They came here for a deal and the seller is late. They don't like it.

The Blackthorns continue to wait and complain. A plain bluebird flies over and lands by the Blackthorns.
The bluebird's mouth opens and a human's voice come out. "Good evening, Blackthorns. Deals off. Another party is lurking. They ruined the Deal. Best of luck with your endeavors. Good Day."
The Bluebird flies off...
Garik takes a deep breath, then screams so loud it causes birds to flutter away. "FUCK YOU!

The Blackthorns have left. The Apothicaries is a no show.

Jun 1, 2024 12:50 am
Jerinvar let's out an audible sigh. The night seems to have been a bust. At least it hadn't rained. The elf let's his mind reach out to Fauntleroy and instructs him to return to him. He then turns to Jorah and inquires: "So, shall we go meet up with the good doctor and call it a night?"
Jun 3, 2024 2:43 pm
The group, feeling frustrated and disappointed that the exchange did not go as planned, heads back towards town. As they stroll through the woods, a thick, dense fog rolls in and surrounds them. Inside the fog, they can see only a few feet ahead. Ghostly images swirl within the mist, their forms flickering in and out of view, creating an eerie, unsettling atmosphere. In the distance, a lone wolf's howl pierces the silence, its mournful cry echoing from the direction the group is heading, adding to the sense of foreboding that hangs heavy in the air.
OOC:
@MaJunior,@Basil,@Sardis To Keep this moving I will push you forward.

Eerie doesn’t bother Crow, clumsily walking into danger does however. Crow slows his pace and remains alert.

Bella shifts into a tiny spider and hides under Crows collar.
Jun 4, 2024 2:45 pm
Jerinvar does not like this change in the night and becomes very alert to his surroundings. Could this fog be a magical construct made by those whose plans of a business deal this evening were disrupted...which was likely due to having discovered their 'hidden' presence.

He reaches out to Fauntleroy and instructs him to fly above the fog to see what possible threats he can see. And with that, the owl gained altitude in order to seek answers for his master.
Jun 4, 2024 2:57 pm
Fauntleroy files higher and higher but the fog does not end. The higher the Owl flies the thicker the fog gets and the harder it is for it it to fly.
OOC:
@Sardis Can I get a Con save from your owl please.

The group keeps heading towards town the fog growing thicker around them. The piecing howl of more wolves fill the air. The sound comes from all sides but behind you. A low growling fills the fog around you. Something is close but the fog is too dense to see...

[ +- ] Exhaustion
Dr. Crow and Jerinvar, increasingly uneasy, realize they should have reached the town by now. The absence of any sounds or lights from the town is profoundly unsettling. As they carefully turn around, their eyes still on the wolf patrol trailing them, the dense fog and their exhaustion make the search for freedom even harder. Jorah seems to be succumbing to the fog more than the others—he moves sluggishly, loses focus, and struggles to stay awake.

After what feels like an eternity, the party spots a few dozen flickering street lamps in the distance. Hope flickers briefly, only to be snuffed out as the lights start to flicker and fade, one by one, leaving only a few dim remnants. The howls and growls of the wolves grow louder and closer, their number seemingly increasing, filling the air with an ominous symphony.
Jun 7, 2024 2:45 pm
Seeing Jorah struggling, Jerinvar moves closer to him in case the man gets to a point where he needs help to stand. The elf's mind races at trying to figure out what is going on. It doesn't take long to conclude that whatever it is is beyond his understanding. He had no idea what they should do to escape this madness. He frantically looks around for any clue as to where they should go.

Dr. Crow tries to ascertain what is going from a medical perspective… apart from the symptoms they are all experiencing he considers a few other factors while narrowing down a diagnosis.

Dr. Crow moves to find some cover and sends an invisible Bella into the night sky to see if she can determine numbers and positions and most importantly who the controller is.

Bella sees hundreds of undead shambling down a single path, their hollow eyes fixated on a large, isolated mansion. They surround it like a relentless tide of death.

Floating ominously above the mansion is a woman of dark power. Her flowing white gown, adorned with gold ornaments, starkly contrasts with her dark complexion. Long, dark hair, decorated with sinister golden accessories, frames a face of stern, malevolent beauty. Her piercing eyes seem to see into your soul. One hand is raised as if casting a dreadful curse, while the other hangs menacingly. A golden headpiece and intricate jewelry only add to her terrifying aura of unearthly authority.

Bella remains cautious but curious and she does a circling flyby 50 yards or so to get a full look at the beauty before returning to Crow.

The Lady fly around does not notice Bella at all.
@MaJunior,@Basil,@Sardis
What do the three of you plan on doing?
Their is a horde of zombies surrounding a house some are walking aimlessly around town but have not noticed you yet.
You are all tired with at least 1 level of exhaustion.
It is very late. The failed exchange happened at Midnight, you were prepping all night for the exchange and you have been working for a few hours since then.

If all of the party is at 0hp in the main post I will push you guys in that direction (Somehow) and you can SAVE THE DAY!

"We need to find shelter for the night" Says Crow. "If this is a normal occurrence around here then I suspect everything would be locked down but we still have to try."

Crow sends Bella to look for a tavern or an abandoned building we can shelter in

Will archive this come the weekend.

Is it safe to assume Fauntleroy returned to Jerinvar? If so the owl will be returned to the dimensional pocket.

OOC:
