The lasso option is being discussed but it looks like we both think it is an option but there will be some limits to how it is used.

Understood, just thought it would be cool. I could say get over here when I was pulling them in. Hahaha

To show we didn't forget, here's the idea for a lasso.

It uses the Light Weapon proficiency. It does need to be "loaded" (which is mitigated by Quick Shot). If it successfully "hits", it does no damage, unless it is a critical hit, in which case it does a point. However, the target is now bound and can make no Actions other than try a Save Test to escape. (Basically, it works like the Web Trait of a Giant Spider.)

If you wanted to pull them in, that's something that could be done, but it'd likely be a contested roll or something like that to see if you succeed.

So will that be 2d6 since I don't have that proficiency?

No proficiency is 1d6. Proficiency is 2d6. Mastery is 3d6.

So, right now, it'd be like you sword: 1d6.

As an aside, I'll be promoting you to Veteran shortly. Typically when you get to Novice and Veteran you take Mastery in a Proficient weapon for one of them, and a third Trait for the other. In your case, you took Mastery in Bows for your Novice level-up. For your Veteran level-up, you can take Light weapon Proficiency instead of a Trait if you'd like. After that, you'll be gaining XP and you can take whatever you want as you accrue XP. Just an option to think about.

Attacks without proficiency are at disadvantage, so 1d6
Jun 20, 2024 2:38 am
That sounds good. I plan on using this lasso quiet a bit.
Jul 4, 2024 9:38 pm
Yes, I will take light weapon proficiency and I will keep the lasso on my hip.

Ok, cool. You now use 2d6 when attacking with light weapons. You get this immediately.

Good deal, does this come with any extra hps? I still have just what I started with.

Nope. No new HP.

To gain straight up permanent HP, you can do one of two things:
1) Take the Tough trait. It gives you two extra permanent HP.
2) Spend 6 XP to gain one HP.

There are also two other mechanisms to get HP "helpers".
1) The Diehard trait will bring you back to 2HP if you ever fall to 0HP. (You can never go below 0 HP. Anything that would take you negative is ignored.)
2) You can take an Armored trait or proficiency (I forget which) and it gives you "ablative" HP which won't come back for a day. Some magic armor does this, too.

@daryen did you bump me to veteran and give me the light weapon proficiency?
Jul 31, 2024 8:36 pm
Yes. Yes I did. You now have light weapon proficiency, ranged weapon proficiency, and mastery of the bow.

You also only have two elective Traits. You will be able to use XP to gain more.
