To clarify, the door at V13 is locked, the door at V17 is not. I thought each of you was listening at a different door, so nothing was heard beyond either. A 12 is not going to be sufficient to open the door.

Opening the door reveals a corridor going straight ahead (east) as far as you can see.

The group moves down the hall to the east about 45 feet before the corridor makes an abrupt turn to the north. After another 20 feet, the corridor continues north, but a side passage cuts in from the east, going about 10 feet before ending at another door.

Eager to find something interesting and impress the boys, Trig scampers over to the door to listen. Under her hat, Koko shifts uneasily on her head, uncomfortable with the sudden changes in momentum.

The corridor goes north for 20 feet before turning east. It proceeds east as far as you can see, but there are doors on the north wall at the 15-foot and 40-foot marks.

Trig sneaks ahead (not particularly quietly, but she thinks she's being stealthy) to the first door (15' after the turn), listens, and, if hearing nothing, gently tries the door to see if it's locked.

You try the door and find that it is not locked! Opening it ever so slightly reveals a short corridor going north about 10 feet and then turning east.

"That's weird..." Trig muses to the others quietly. "There's a corridor, but it turns toward that other door." She points at the door 25' further east down the hall. "Maybe they meet in the middle?"
