Autoborg actually get 2 traits, robot and dark vision. Not sure why they split it.

Alright, I've skimmed through the post and know roughly what to do! :)
Step One:
Role is an obvious choice, there's only the Tactical position avaiable so a fighter it shall be!
The question is if it's going to be a twelve foot four arm alien fighter or a "Whatchamacalit (Splinter)" fighter...
Unfortunately, I can't find the Whatchamacalit heritage in the list with the others! The positioning would suggest it's the hologram, but I don't really know...

Edit: Maybe not... Stinger is the name of a character, so is Whatchamacalit even avaiable?
I am quite confused and just will wait until clarification.
Which Role and Heritage are avaiable?

Splinter is an "Invex" (insert space bug) see the collapsed section at the bottom of this thread. Just click the "+" symbol next to ethe Invex in the boxes at the bottom of that post

I don't really know why Invex is crossed out if Invex is also avaible, but I won't question it!
So, Bug Fighter or Tall Fourarm fighter it is! Hmm..

Alright, so far so good!
I've decided on a Tyranax Tactical Operator, tadaa! And I did manage to select the character sheet and already put the traits in!
So, step two: I get to choose a trait? Are there any guidelines on that or can it truly be whatever?

There is a list of predefined traits here for those without the rules. Of you can just list of a few things you want your character to be able to do and I will help define how it works in game.
Updated Character Creation says:

1. Select a Role and Heritage = Tactical / Tyranax
1a. Your heritage comes with a trait
1b. Each role will also have an assigned trait for this game based on a ship role.
2. Pick two traits. (No Psionics)
3. Pick a weapon group to be proficient with and mastered weapon to start with
4. Pick a Family trade
4. Pick your belief
5. Character will each begin with a minor xenotech or advanced piece of gear that applies to their role or background.

I do not really want anything combat related necessarily since the Tactical/Tyranax combo already has quite a lot going for it in that department. Instead...
How about:
A Cybernetic sensor array, subdermally implanted behind the ear. I do not know exactly which kinds of sensors it should include, but it would make sense for someone punching people knowing who and where are the people to punch, would it not?
And as a second picked trait...
Is there something like a Tinkerer trait? Like, creating a stun baton by very scrappily assembling batteries and wire. Or would that be engineer territory?

Perceptive : You gain Advantage when Testing to gain information about your surroundings or find things that may be hidden. You gain this even while asleep.
Cyber-Sensors : When you fail a perception related Test, you can choose to re-Test it at Disadvantage.
There is not official tinker but we have another player who asked so we worked this up
Tinkerer :You gain Advantage on tests to modify or enhance technology.
Alternately you could go for something like
Weaponsmith : Provided the right material, you can modify or create weapons or explosives. You also gain Advantage when identifying weapons and armor.

I do like Perceptive more, the cybernetics will have to wait another day!
And I do like Weaponsmith, because I don't want to step onto anyone elses toes if there's already a tinkerer! :)

I assume both of thse go under the "Choose Trait" field on the character sheet.

Next... Weapon Group and Mastered weapon.
Is there a list of them somewhere?

light melee, heavy melee, light ranged, heavy ranged.
Light = 1 handed, 1 damage
Heavy = 2 handed, 2 damage
Melee = only enemies close to you
Ranged = ammo issues
Heavy Ranged can not be used in close quarters

Can Tyranax carry two Heavies/Four Lights/Heavy and two lights at once?
In any case, Heavy Melee sounds great!

Anda mastered weapon out of that group I'd assume? Hmm... Heavy Melee weapons.
Perhaps a hammer? Of course, a sci fi Hammer!

2 heavy, and 8 light are possible. But they're is no way 4 heavy can be carried.

You only start with 1 for now

Sure. A standard tool belt/kit is one thing. For your specialty device you can get a high tech multi-tool or a small repair drone with minor AI capabilities (cat to dog sized, no combat capabilities)

For my Xenotool, can I get a small repair drone with minor AI? Like a small robot dog to help with repairs?

Also when someone replies in character they have a small character portrait, how do I add that?

To add a character portrait to a character
1. open the character
2. edit the character (pencil icon top right)
3. click "Change Avatar" (top right)
4. upload image from local pc

to post in character you just change the "Post As" drop down above the quick reply box to your character name
