I'd almost wager it will be difficult to find any orcs here with less than 3 drinks in them. Aizashi agrees with a smirk.

it will save automatically if I subtract the sp when I click on the character name, right?Last edited October 20, 2024 11:42 am

"Before you go cavorting with orcs, remember that they most respect raw strength and power. We," he motions to indicate everyone in the group, "will have to work overtime to demonstrate that. I'm not sure how interested I am in a bar fight to get that done."

Is there anyone playing some cards or dice? If so Kaarik will try to take part in a game to blend in and try to hear some rumor.
He will bet what the others bet and will do his best to lose.

This tavern is calmer but you overhear that the pit, the bar close to the plaza, is much livelier and has organized pit fights, gambling, and much more. If you want a rougher and more interactive crowd the pit is the place to be. if you want to eavesdrop or interact give me a test roll and basic outline of action/intent

Aizashi agrees that they should gather more information but isn't sure how to go about it.

You do not always need a detailed plan. A simpe "we loiter around for about 1/2 hour, chatting with others as it seems best, to try and pick up more information" with a roll is good enough. I just like to have a general idea of your attempted method, passive/avtive. Oct 25, 2024 11:12 pm

I'd assume being a trained martial artist and having even mastered some of it, I'd think he should be able to hold his own and might even be able to make it look a little good? ;) Is this with advantage? If not I guess you can ignore the 3rd roll?Rolls

Arc follows around the city Aizashi both to support him in case something goes wrong, and to check on more information.
Arc will not fight in the pit, but grab a drink and mingle, for additional information.

The pit fights are all pay to play and a purse of 5 gold is gathered frrom the team for enty to the fight Aizashi does fairly well against his first opponent, a snarling orc who scoffs at the weaponless beastkin. That is untill his weapon is dodged and a pair of clenched paws driven into his sides knocks the air from him. Now taking it more serious but hampered by its early overconfidece the pair circle each other cautiously while the others mingle with the crowd.
Arc is able to find a spot at the bar and casually watches the fight as he listens in to the other patrons. Between sips of ale and shouting encouragement to Aizashi he is able to get into snippets of conversation with a pair of nearby hoboblins who's friend just lost to the orc. He learns that the orgs ar moving into the hobgoblin teritory to the NE and have taken over one of the remnants there.
Kaarik, unfortunately, finds mingling with the tough crowd problematics and after being stared away by several groups drifts back to Skeeve and Arc.
Skeeve is the least conspicious of the trio and manages to find a spot near the pit and gets a bit of food and drink as he cheers on his friend in the pit. he is able to gleen from the mutted conversations he overhears between the shouts of the croud that tensious between the factions is rising and were it not for the iminent arrival of the "BOSS" the dominance of the orc/hobgoblin aliance would have shattered and resuled in an open 3 way conflict between them and the kobolds and lizardmen. The aution is anticipated to have several decent magic items, most will cost in the thousands of gold and is reputed to have an artifact of power that has drawn the attntion of the Boss.

Just to be clear, the implication is that the BOSS is here to buy the artifact of power, correct? Who is running the auction? Goblins?Oct 29, 2024 7:02 am
Arc shares with Skeeve thought the crystal what he found out, then "I get it, take care and don't go too far away from us. If things go wrong and you can't clear an escape route, we will join the fight."
Then, when Kaarik joins him, trying not to be overheard "The crystal tells me that it will be us three for a time. I trust Aizashi will be successful."

After the first bout Aizashi tries to look for his friends to see if they might signal him to stop or if he should attempt to continue.

Kaarik will try to sneak and look behind the hobgoblin back to see if he can have a look at the "worthy opponent" before Aizashi answers.
His plan is to nod or to make a sign to Aizashi if he sees that the next opponent is manageable.

[ +- ] In the shadows to the left . . .
Back from where the hobgoblin stepped into the ring Kaarik spots several rough looking figures including several hobgoblin, a couple bugbear, and orcs. Most are larger than others of their ilk and all look tough with sharp eyes that constantly scan the throng though they laze about drinking and chatting in low tones..
