I'm not sure there is any point in rolling anything - without weapons I'm done. But ok let's do some dice rolling

Nindia is dead. =(

GreyWord, you can play with Brenda or Korena, if you want, until we finish this game.

Very convincing fate of Nindia

@htech I can't express in writing how much I appreciated you running this game the way you did it. Although I have strong reservations about the system and how often it felt like dice would tell me - nope, the way you want to tell this story will not happen. Despite my bad luck with dice and my opinion on the system participating this story were among my best PBP experiences.
More over you managed to influence the way I'm playing RPG over PBP. I've been putting more thoughts and sometimes sleeping over my next post to make it the way I'm proud of.

Merry Christmas and a happy NY !!

I guess I could find a place in my hart for Korena next year if @Pedrop is back to posting.

Thank you very much! This is the kind of feedback that a GM loves to hear. =D I also enjoyed a lot this game.

Merry Christmas and a happy NY!

@Pedrop your posting style also contributed to my deeper involvement and considerate posts. A pleasure to play with you.

First off, Pedrop, I want to send my best wishes to you and your family. I hope your youngest is on the road to recovery or already recovered and that everyone’s health improves quickly. We haven't heard from you since. Hope it is because of the holidays =)

That said, after some reflection and considering where we currently stand in the story, I’ve decided it’s time to bring this chapter to a close. With Grey’s character having met their untimely end, Pedrop understandably dealing with real-life challenges, and my own interests shifting to other projects, I think this is the right time to end this.

I’ve "rolled" the dice for Faramos to wrap things up. The orc’s brutal punch left him unable to continue the fight, marking the end of his journey as well. While it’s a somber conclusion, I hope it feels fitting given the tone of the story we’ve been telling together.

It’s been an honor crafting this adventure with you both, and I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have. This isn’t goodbye, though! I’ve truly enjoyed our sessions and would love to play with you both again in the future. Whether it’s starting a brand-new adventure together or playing in someone else's game, I’m confident our paths will cross again. Until then, take care of yourselves, and I look forward to when we can game together once more.

P.S. It is a pity first-year student is just not my thing to role-play.

Yes, my youngest one was at home just before Christmas, thanks Good God! :) And everything ended well in this regard. Thanks a lot for asking! :) Then - indeed - holiday time took over and having a lot to catch up on GP(I always read and answer from oldest to newest), I only recently manage to read all the threads in this game. And I must say Nindia's ending thread was really epic and interesting too!

I loved this game and your style of GMing! This game provided me of the best moments as player here on GP, so far! Thanks a lot for putting so much effort and care in your posts! I really felt that and I appreciate it.

That was also a reason I felt that I just CAN'T put much less effort in writing my posts myself (although - obviously - they still weren't as good as yours), and cased this game being the most time consuming from all my games:) That was one of the reasons I slowed down with posting in this game(besides making a mistake in game I'm currently GMing that caused it to take much more time than I thought it will).

So recently I decided to have only 2, max 3 games here on GP to be able to have such hight quality games like yours in the future. So already hoping and waiting for our next game together! :) But it won't be too soon, as I first have to drop below 3 active game(I'm currently at 3...)

Speaking of which: I have read IC for you new game and as (similarly to Grey) the Harry Potter-like setting is not my thing, if I had more time/less games I would join it, just to play with you:) I also have read your "stripped down version of the Cortex Prime ruleset" - and I really like it! I have read/scanned through "normal" Cortex Prime ruleset sometime ago and as I loved the general idea of the system: the different sized dice pools and it's free form something always felt not quite right about it... and I'm still not sure what it is... maybe it became to convoluted in the aim of being so flexible?? But: I must say I didn't have this feeling in your version of the rules! I would really like to try it someday! :)

Just wondering: did you read/try Cortex Lite before compiling your ruleset? If yes: How do you see relation between the two?
Getting back to this game....

I also feel it was a perfect moment to end it. We tasted the world, rules and our characters. We started to feel them. And one of the opportunity GP is providing me is the chance to try all those great systems I have only read so far in practice. I think we get the good glimpse how it worked. My personal problems and break in the story caused by them only helped with that. Playing further would probably require us to "open new chapter" and "go deeper":)

In the same time I liked your NPCs, hard-as-stone, slightly rude Nindia and of course Faramos a lot. I feel a little pity that he never had opportunity to "manifest" the druidic powers that he was bestowed in(by?) the forest! So maybe someday we will consider continuing this story... saying that our pc's death was only a bad dream caused by orc's "antidote", maybe even in different rules system?? :)

Speaking of whitch:
1. This time I still have to many games and still very limited time resources... but please PM (if that will be not to big a problem for you!) me next time you will begin any new game. I hope by that time I will be ready to join! :)
2. Maybe you will reconsider joining my game Beyond Secret of the Black Crag. In very short word's the themes I like to have into it are like: in The Mysterious Cities of Gold, in Thorgal comics, discovering and interacting with ancient technology of unknown origin, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Indiana Jones series, pirate themes and general blending fantasy with sci-fi(science fantasy), but observed and discovered by fantasy characters. I'm using a very interesting system of Tales of Argosa, that have nice degrees of success and revolutions. And I have already prepared a very interesting and overarching story, that connects my own content with tons of classic/well regarded modules(mainly OSR style). All in OSR-style, so the most important is for PCs to interact with environment and other characters and the danger is real.

We are at the perfect place to introduce a new player, story supports it and we are before next bigger chapter, that will open the current environment a little bit more. I have great players too, including Grey! :D And I want to focus on this game for longer time/years with bigger story(campaign) and PC development - as long there will be players wanting to continue. I blend adjusted modules with emergent play.

So hoping you will reconsider that! As I'm pretty sure our styles are very compatible:)
@Grey: of course thank you too for this game too, it was a pleasure and Nindia surprised me many times! But we play together in my game at least, so I thought I don't have to write so much - as we are staying "connected". You certainly teach me how to look at things in different way in this game and others! :)

No... I will have to look into it, didn't know there was a "Lite" version of it. I just have the Prime book. Thank you! =)

1. Sure, no problems!
2. Unfortunately, I am at my game limit as well. But I promise to PM you if I am able to join any of your games.=)

See ya!

Great!

I would be interested in your thoughts about Cortex Lite after you will sit to it:)

All is clear and understood!

See ya around those parts! :)
