X-Traction

Jubilee looks out the window of the X-Jet as the plane explodes with a big, flashy boom. Slowly, Jubilee turns her head to the pilot.

"Okay, so, another big ask...can we get some directions?"

Gambit shakes his head at Cyclops, a little embarrassed as the plane explodes just as Cyclops finishes his question. As Jubilee checks with the pilot, he brings over a blanket and any water they may have on the plane to Hannah.

He gently asks, "Hey petite, it's probably feelin' pretty crazy right now, no? But do you remember dem sayin' anyting about what direction dey was going, even how many hours to go like Wolvie here said?"

"I'm all out, " Nightcrawler shook his head at Cyclops' request to pop over to the plane to retrieve its destination bearing, just as Gambit made the aircraft go boom. "I think that's no longer possible." He gave a wry grin.

"Get the information out of the pilot?" He looked over to Logan to do his classic intimidation by retracting his claws and threatening to pop them back out again under a target's chin.

Logan towers over the pilot, making sure that the man can see his plane disintegrating just outside the window of the X-Jet.

"Give us the coordinates and we’ll call it even!" he says, tensing his fists right by the man’s head!

Jubilee places a hand on Logan's arm.

"Whoa, Wolvie! Come on, give the guy a chance to talk before you pop the claws!"

Turning to the pilot, Jubilee gives him a pleading look to start talking before heads start rolling.

"All right, all right! We were going to Saint Clairvaux Island off the coast of Cote d'Ivoire. It's 5 degrees 10 minutes north, 4 degrees 1 minute west."

Logan looks to Scott, waiting to see if he’ll make the call to have them burst into the place now. Knowing Cyclops, he’d play it safe, and have them back at HQ to talk things out first…

Scott feels Logan's gaze as he considers their options. The team in the Blackbird now are primed and ready to take on this threat. But they have non-combatants on board as well. "Team, I'm itching to take down this base on Saint Clairvaux Island. But, we need to get Hannah somewhere safe and drop off these Friends of Humanity goons first." He starts flying toward Salem Center, with plans to drop off their prisoners in New York somewhere. Perhaps the Fantastic Four would help out? Some time in the Negative Zone for them would be great. Hannah could stay at the mansion. This also gives him a chance to bring Jean along - they may need a heavy hitter.

"Good job petites!"

Gambit gives a wink to Jubilee and a cheeky grin to Wolverine.

He then nods at what Cyclops says and demonstrates to Hannah how to buckle into her seat.

"By de way petite, wat kind of powers do you have?"

Now that everyone was safely on board and the plane was bustling with the team going about doing what needed to be done, Nightcrawler fished out an energy drink Jubilee had stashed away somewhere, slurped it down, and promptly strapped himself in to get a few blinks, to recuperate for whatever they needed to do next after they drop off their FOH friends.

Jubilee pumps her fist as Scott changes course.

"Alright, let's do it! Oh, Hannah, you're going to love the mansion, it's so cool!"

Hanna blushes a bit at Gambit's attention. "Nothing spectacular, really. I have X-ray vision. And not like in the movies, you know, but like actual X-rays. I can see bones and stuff like that. Not very useful most of the time unless I get a job as a security guard," she laughs self-consciously. "Or want to increase someone's likelihood of cancer several years in the future. Thank you for the offer, but I think I should get home to my family. I still have homework and classes tomorrow..."

"School’s out." Logan remarks, wondering what the girl made of his skeleton.

"These goons don’t show up on time and there’s no knowing when they’ll try get the jump on you again! Next time, it’ll be even worse. You should lay low!"

Hannah nods but doesn't seem very convinced. "Maybe. But for now they don't know they failed to get me until the plane fails to arrive. They also won't get the drop on me next time, I will be more aware. I was careless before because I didn't think I was anything special. Not a threat anyway. That won't happen again. I don't want this to derail my studies. That would be conceding a small defeat to them." She brushes her long hair back from her face. "But you shouldn't waste too much time with us. If they notice the plane hasn't returned on time, they will be on alert and it could be harder for you. Best to get there when they aren't expecting it. The element of surprise and all that."

She pauses and looks at Logan. "I've heard about you. All of you, y'know. But it's different seeing you up close. Your skeleton I mean," she blushes. "Must be nice, not having to worry about broken bones. I broke my arm playing softball in high school. It was the worst."

"Real nice!" Logan grunts, but maybe there is a hint of satisfaction there too.

"That doesn’t stop them from trying to break em. Isn’t that right?" he says menacingly, to the pilot of the other ship.

He appreciates the go get em attitude of the mutant, and her desire to stick it to the man. The same couldn’t be said for their captain.

He looks to Cyclops and the others:

"She’s got a point. Sure, we can hit em twice as hard if we have back up, but they’ll be dug in twice as bad, too!"

Jubilee ponders the point. Well, the X-Jet should be way faster than a Cessna, so the math should work out where the X-Jet has some leeway to take a detour to the X-Mansion...right? Damn dyscalculia.
