"You think they’ll tell us, if we ask?" Logan grunts. He slides his claws in and out impatiently as the group deliberate!

Kurt was as sceptical as Jubilee that this was a testing facility.

"This could just be the airfield. We don't actually know where the facility is."
Aug 21, 2024 10:19 pm
"With satellite imaging, it would make sense if they keep things underground," Scott muses aloud. "Alright, Kurt. Start with Remy and Logan, get them to that building there," he says as he points to the westernmost building. "Jubilee and I will head there," he points to a building opposite the other. "I know you'd rather not jump into the building, so use this vantage point to move to the shadows. Stay in contact, and let's find our people."

As you are discussing this, you see a woman approach the Blackbird carrying a fuel hose from the fuel tank nearby. She looks around at the plan, then seems to radio someone. A few moments later, the voice you were talking to before comes over the radio. "Uh, yeah, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but we are unfamiliar with your plane and can't find the fuel port. Can you let us know where it is?" The Blackbird runs on technology far more advanced than fossil fuels and lacks a fuel port...

"Oh hey, not a stupid question at all. The fuel port's inside the dorsal..." Scott tries to stall for time so Nightcrawler can get the team out of the jet and deployed to the field.

"Jackasses don’t know our ship?" Logan mutters, as he grabs on to Nightcrawler and gets ready to bamf.

Maybe they do, and this is a trick… is the last thing he thinks before popping out of the plane.
Aug 22, 2024 7:19 am
"Expect an alert when they find no one on board. Better remotely secure our plane when we exit Scott. Keep them scratching their heads for a while longer.

Alright let's go."
Kurt had scanned the airfield as they landed in order to note the most discreet spot for him to be able to travel there.

BAMF!

Assuming Nightcrawler's rested with Focus back to maximum. How much Focus cost, 10 per PC?

Yes and yes.

Here's a rough map of the buildings around the airstrip. Pick a spot to bamf too.
A few moments after Nightcrawler finishes teleporting everyone out of the Blackbird, the sound of whirring rotors and chopping wind can be heard from behind the largest building. A pair of helicopters soon rise into view over the buildings.
Aug 23, 2024 2:38 am
Nightcrawler surmised that the largest of the buildings would be the hangar, and not necessarily where they would find out more about what this facility did. He aimed them towards the space in between the two smaller buildings; they would have to dash into one of them quickly to leave the whirly-birds second guessing.

Sounds good to me.

Opening the door, you see it is a barracks. One wall is taken up by simple cots, barely a dozen, while the opposite wall has lockers and a rudimentary bathroom.
OOC:
The helicopters are now up in the sky with spotlights, and there are several guards around the compound. Give me a TN 14 Agility check to remain unseen.

Jubilee darts to hug the shadows as the spotlights pass overhead.

"Alright, no one home? Might be the other building then, let's check it out."

"Nothing here, let's move quickly." Nightcrawler hastened.
OOC:
Sounds like building C next, E doesn't look promising, unless you think those little rooms are cells, which is strange for an airfield to have.

Gambit ducks into the barracks to avoid a passing soldier, checking to see if there are any "open" lockers with passcards or clues.

On the contrary, I think E is promising because I think it's a cell block, which would be weird to have on an airfield but perfectly reasonable for kidnappers to have.

Let's go with our cell block hunch then! :)
Aug 28, 2024 11:41 am
The team ducks into the building and their hunches are proved right. The building houses four cells each along the southern wall and takes up most of the interior space. Inside each cell is around a dozen mutants, each with an inhibitor collar on. The walls of this building are lined with metal and anyone with knowledge in science understands this building is one large Faraday cage. Further, it seems to block telepathic abilities as well.

While the group's hunch was right, prisoners means guards, or at least one guard since the people here didn't expect a rescue attempt. He whirls around at the sound of the door opening. "Hey! You aren't supposed to be here!" He reaches for a whistle around his neck...
OOC:

"Mein Gott!" They had come with the expectation of mutants being held captive, but the sheer number surprised Nightcrawler.
