Tinkara try really hard to spot hints or anything unusual but the harder she try the more dust she raise. With a loud achoo she finally gives up.
Nov 24, 2024 1:38 pm
I fly out of the alcove.

"Achoo! Somebody else can check out that alcove after the dust settles. I'm not having any luck searching it."
Nov 24, 2024 3:33 pm
While the fairy examines the dusty alcove, Tante Lude watches her carefully. The dust kicked up makes it hard to see but she wasn't harmed either by the room or by the dust it seems. AS the dust settles, Lude carefully examines the floor between her and the alcove with the table. Then, sliding her feet across the dusty tiles to avoid stepping down on something hard and to distribute her weight better, she moves to just outside the alcove and stops to examine it again closely both low and high.

She knows the dust is covering something, she just doesn't know what.

OOC:
@Psybermagi what is the goal/purpose of your examination? I'm taking the vocabulary definition
inspect thoroughly in order to determine their nature or condition
by default, but let me know if you had different idea in mind

@badbaron you may want to provide more detailed info on your perception roll next time not picking whole room to avoid your PC wasting hours of story time doing the through examination of larger rooms

Tante Lude spends quite some time (15 minutes) examining floor each time before stepping forward and examining the table and alcove. Only the very last piece of wall she examines appear to have something different in it's structure. It's mostly thank's to her wonderful intuition that she discover how to open this secret door despite being covered with dust and unused for a long time
The doors open into the room with pentagram other PCs told her about earlier.

Meanwhile Nyx checking the statues assures that they are just statues that has been here for white a while. He has seen petrified people before and is sure these are statues not a petrified people because they luck the perfect human face features.

"Well done, Tante Lude. It seems there are a lot of hidden passages between rooms in this place."
Nov 25, 2024 1:21 pm
So, this room you've been to before, right? Tante Lude says to the fairy.

Still don't know what all the dust was hiding but Lude was thinking she should return to the room they were in before the cauldrons of bones start spewing out undead.

Carefully retracing her steps through the dusty hall, Lude comes back to the group, carefully shutting the doors behind her unless someone stops her from doing so.

OOC:
Nyx was simply looking for signs of them being golem or traps etc. If they are statue then the should be one piece with their pedestals but if they are golems then the are likely simply standing atop the pedestals. Thinking along those lines. So the technical definition would cover that from my point of view.
Upon the discovery of the other room Nyx sends his familiar to look it over, having never been there himself. He will step back and glance through his familiars eyes for a moment to assess the situation.

Have you already resolved the other room? he asks Zean I would rather take these on one at a time if possible.

Nyx see statues simply standing atop the pedestals and nothing decline his assumption that they are probably golems. Nothing prove it either.
OOC:
For description what you see through familiar senses read Pentagram Room in this post
And I would be really thankful if we can indeed do one location at a time

"No... we had some ideas about using the gems we got on the frogs on the sarcophagi in that room... but haven't tried it yet. Most of us - probably - didn't want to enter this pentagram. And I don't blame anyone. I hate this symbol myself. Bad memories... I can tell you. There was something about using more salt with it... but I don't understand it for now. Maybe others can explain it better to you?"

"Besides: I'm fully for doing one room a time. We really don't want to have monsters on our backs from both sides..."
- Zean sighned on this thought and remainder how they were trapped in wine room.

Not seeing a clear path forwards Nyx hefts his club. Shall we shatter these? h says tapping one of the cauldrons. Or we can put the shild on top of one of them to see if it will shattr the bones? So saying he looks at the shield to see how hard it would be to move it over to and on top of the cauldron without letting it spear anyone. Perhaps if someone was enlarged?

OOC:
Shield is not too heavy single person could carry it. To make is simpler I will spoil you the mechanics of shield: the moment you will craw if from the floor I will ask everyone to roll initiative and shield act on initiative counter 20 without rolling. So one shot is a highly possible before you put it on cauldron. And you have no idea what will happen once you put it there. But you will learn.
Dec 3, 2024 3:27 pm
Making sure the others are behind him as he slides the shield then tilts it towards the wall before lifting and dripping it on top of the cauldron.

Rolls

Initiative = Dex(2) + Mod( 0 ) = - (1d20+2)

(8) + 2 = 10

Dec 3, 2024 3:40 pm
Not wanting to play spear catcher, I will retire to the hallway while Nyx does his thing. While I'm out there I'll note anything I see moving.

OOC:
Ok, no need for others to roll initiative shield for some reason decided to attack Nyx
The moment Nyx rise the shield it hurls an arrow, despite the pain Nyx manage to put it on top of the cauldron, face down (right?) before it recharge it's magic and attacks again.
OOC:
Nyx - 28 force damage please

Rolls

Magic arrow to hit - (2d20L1+10)

(1619) + 10 = 26

Damage - (4d8)

(8578) = 28

OOC:
ow
Nyx holds the shield for a moment to ensure it will not move and tries to determine if it is doing anything.

The shield regenerate the power and shoot - or at least try to hurl another spear at Nyx, but it hits cauldron instead. Cauldron seems to survive this hit, but you see how a new magical spear is forming on the shield - it if keeps firing arrows the cauldron will be destroyed sooner or later
OOC:
what do you do?

"Brilliant job Nxs, now let's get a wall between us and that cauldron in case it explodes and let me do a bit of healing for you."
Dec 4, 2024 1:44 am
I will fly about a bit in the "courtyard". Is anything moving?
Dec 4, 2024 2:23 am
Grimacing in pain Nyx asks Please help heal me quickly. I believe I have a way to move the shield to the other cauldron without endangering myself but will need to do it before the cauldron shatters. and he explains his plan to wildshape into a giant spider and move on the ceiling while keeping the shield pointed away from himself, towards the flood while using it to destroy the skeletons within the cauldrons.
OOC:
Just to verify, can the shield attack behind itself? I thought it could not.
