Dead in the Water

Richard races out into the dark, trying to find Shayna in the dirt and see how bad she’s hit! As he rushes out, he thinks he sees movement off to his right, startling him!

His feet go out from underneath as he tumbles over Shayna as she lays in the brush. Her face is painted with blood, and she winces as Richard drives his boot into her on the way down!

Richard hits the ground with a hard whack! His gun goes off in his hand from the impact, and he grazes himself up through the meat of his shoulder! The hot wound stings immediately in the cold night air. He feels, but does not see the blood start to seep from the wound into his clothes!

1 Damage to Richard!

The shot sends earth and leaves blasting into the sky only a foot or so from where Richard and Shayna are huddled together on the ground. Both survivors ache from their gunshot wounds, but they have a pretty good bead on where this son of a bitch is!

Out of the dark, in response to the gunshots, come the moaning sounds of walkers. It’s impossible to tell how many, nor how far! The sound carries on the air, and you surely wish for nothing than to be back indoors!

Shayna
Blinding pain shooting through her, and blood starting to seep more and more into her eyes, Shayna scampers further into the brush. The woman pushes herself on, forcing her way through the bushes that would snag on her clothes and hair.

A wet growl from somewhere above and behind. Black against black, Shayna sees the lurching figure of a walker shambling towards her! Somehow it senses her, and begins to force its own way through the raggedy bushes to get at her!Shayna’s 1 goes to a Single Walker Attack! Roll a skill! Succeed, or be dooomed!

Richard
Richard stands defiant, leveling his pistol at a second man in as many days. Big Richard had gotten away with a flesh wound, not unlike the one that was throbbing in Richard’s shoulder right this very minute!

He squeezes the trigger, and the pain of his wound causes him to shoot off into the trees. A chorus of snarls go up all around in response! They sound closer now, more riled up and on the march!

Richard’s 1 increases the Threat Level to 2!

The stranger’s gun sounds off again, as he lines up Richard there among the trees! The shot slams into Richard, sending him sprawling!

Owen and Billie Faye
Both Owen and Billie Faye race for opposing sides of the small cabin, hoping to split the attention of the stranger outside! Snarls go up all about, and you start to see black moving against black all about you!

Owen and Billie Faye both reach cover in time to see the muzzle flash erupt from the trees off to the right, and Richard crumple down into the earth!
