One of the creatures let loose with a blood curdling shriek that makes your whole body shake.
OOC:
Everyone needs to make a Vigor roll or be stunned. If you succeed, Grimwulf, Khel, Wess and Chigaru can act immediately. Li as well can act, but Pedrop haven't logged on for a while, so will NPC him for now and let him go after the rest of you have acted.

Edit: Or solve it easily by having him crit fail and not be able to act.

Wess tries to withstand the verbal assault, unwilling to drop his axe to cover his ears. Wess is willing to try and stop the other creature from emitting a similar yell. So he moves forward to attack it.

After he recovered from the shreik, Khel went forward and pointed his staff at one of the floating heads, trying to aim it.

The rules state ranged weapon, but I'll allow it. Mind you that it takes a whole round and you can't move this round. But it will get rid of the cover penalty, so might be a smart move overall.

Aim Page 129: "If a character spends her entire turn Aiming a ranged weapon at a particular target or spot (GM's call) and takes no other actions, on her next turn she may ignore up to 4 points of Range, Cover, Called Shot, or Scale penalties; or add +2 to her roll. Her attack must be used on the first action of her next turn or the bonus is lost.

The shooter must be relatively stationary to Aim. She can’t walk, run, ride a horse, or be constantly jostled."

Wess rushes into the room, and makes a devastating overhand slash. It leaves a horrid scar along one cheek and wing.

The creature tries to fight back against Wess, but it seems to still be disoriented by the dwarf’s blow, and it misses.
OOC:
The blue skull uses one bennie to soak 2 of the 4 wounds, then another bennie to unshake.

Shalelu aims as well. New round of action cards for next round in next post. Saldrina may act if she wishes.

Saldrina, unable to see much of the action, wills herself to float and begins to rise into the air!

Calling on her Elemental Air bloodline to fly.
When she is above the level of the party (if she is able to get there in the corridor), she targets blue with a flame bolt.

Khel aimed the skull that Wess pumeled and shot a bolt of fire towards it.

Taking a -1 modifier to conserve power points. I forgot to mention which skull I was aiming for, but you can randomly determine it if you don't want it to be the blue skull.

Saldrina floats above the rest so she’s hugging the roof of the stairway. From her vantage point she can finally get a good aim on the creatures and she sends a bolt of flame on the damaged skull. Shaking it.

Already shaken from Saldrina’s attack, Khel sees an opening and lets loose with a devastating bolt of flame. It burns to cinder and as it falls into the pool a column of smoke rises up.

The other skull screams in rage. And rushes at Wess with a wild attack. It hits him, but its teeth can’t pierce his armor.

With its companion dead, it takes you no time to dispatch the last one.
OOC:
With the other one dead, I don't think it will pose a threat at all and will end the encounter here. Had a nasty effect if it had attacked a stunned enemy.

Chigaru shakes off whatever mental effect had paralyzed him. "I didn't like those things," he says simply. "I would guess everything here is for protection or experimentation. Maybe both. The question is why and who? Let's find out."

You open the door to the other end and a short hallway appears, and at the end another door. Opening that one you find a flight of spiral stairs that winds up around a circular pillar into darkness above. Though just a few feet, as it soon ends in what have once been a cave in. Perhaps this was an entrance once upon a time.

You have explored the whole complex, though you left some items in the levitating room.
