I would like two volunteers (preferably people familiar with the site who have been in combats on it before) to help me playtest some shenanigans and see how they translate here.
@Dipper just tell me what you need :)

I'm thurely impressed by the vast information you have provided about the campaign setting.
Thank you! There's such a fine line between "impressive" and "overwhelming" and I often worry about straying too far into the latter territory. ;) It's a relief to hear that I'm on the right side of that boundary for you.
grifter730 says:
- Are there any racism issues similar to our world? (As in, not elf vs humans, but, say, humans of one continent who looks different than humans from another continent?)
Well, the continents don't have contact with each other at the moment, so it's tough to say what might happen if they ever did. ;) But there's a wide array of appearances on your continent, and no, not a lot of intraspecies racism going around. It's in the nature of sentient beings to be more tolerant of small differences in the face of larger ones, so the existence of "degenerate" races like goblins, orcs and kobolds tends to focus their vitriol away from each other. Much like I imagine we humans in real life would get over it quickly if aliens invaded.
grifter730 says:
- Are there any "Asian" looking humans (or elves) in this setting?
Yes; despite the assertion of open intraspecies comradery above, some unknown historical fact seems to have produced areas on the continent where certain subsets of humanoid appearance are more common. Esternesse, in particular, is known to have more people with real-world Asian features, and Seasparrow has a significant subset of humans who have Native American and Middle Eastern skintones. Zhanniqua has it all, but they do tend to lean a bit heavily towards African and Caucasian looks.

You, Avraham, and maybe one of the Hufflepuff people, in a mock combat in my playtest thread. ;) I've given you access to look it over so you can tell me if the rules make sense to you.

How does the comprehend language spell work in your world? If none literacy is so prevalent , do you have to have at least one literacy proficiency to even cast that spell?

Nope, magic is magic. ;) For the duration of the spell, you can simply read and write any nonmagical text, even if it's in a language lost to all living people for thousands of years.

Magically secreted text can overcome the spell and remain indecipherable, and text that was gibberish in the first place remains gibberish, but other than that, it's just a free Duolingo subscription.

It does seem important to also note that illiterate people can still read scrolls to cast off them, because, y'know... magic.

question: Is there any strong feelings against AI artwork in this group?
I'm fond of using AI to make avatars and artwork, and my other groups here on GP don't mind, but this is a very new group.

I plan on using OpenAI for my character portrait as well, unless there is strong feeling against it.

I lean very heavily on it, so I hope not. ;) Protip for anyone new to using tools like that: the best way to get multiple images that look like the same character is to use a celebrity name as a starting point.

"a young adult druid with a green cloak and a wooden staff" produces a vastly different image every time.

"wesley snipes as a young adult druid with a green cloak and a wooden staff" produces a bunch of images that are visually easy to tell are meant to be the same person.

AI is a tool. Use it like a tool. I use it a lot.
The best spelling and grammar checker, and for gaming, AI art is amazingly useful.

As an artist myself, I have a strong personal bias against AI artwork. I view it as a soulless mockery of real, human artwork, but I can tolerate it.

AI Generation - I have never used it very much until doing the ‘Completely AI Generated’ campaign here on GP. I have never used it for artwork, but am not against it. What ones do you all like most?

I'm thinking of using this. Made with OpenAI. https://i.imgur.com/va5fKVu.jpeg

You can definitely tell the difference, even when they don't come out with extra arms and freaky eyes. If I were going to hang something on my wall, I'd definitely go with a human artist, but for something like this where I would've just appropriated someone's work off the internet anyway, it's probably the ethically superior choice. With the added bonus that the image is conforming to my imagination, whereas ten years ago I would have conformed my vision to whatever picture I "borrowed".

Where will you post the game sheet you're working on that you want us to use? Just so I can keep a lookout. ;)

I have answered the questionnaire to the best of my abilities, but I'll get to know more about my character when I play him. That kind of character exploration is part of my game. Let me know if you think there are something that needs to be elaborated.

I have also placed all the answers in the character sheet that I have submittet

Hi friends, hope y’all are well today.

I have answered all the questions on the questionnaire, and those are on my character sheet (which, I’ll adjust pending whatever custom sheet the DM comes up with). I can private-text the questionnaire into the appropriate thread too, if that’s better.

Now, to finish up the mechanics of Bru! lol

That is a good point, I will concede that.

We don't talk about Bru-no no no no ~

But seriously, feel free to tell us more about this character of yours.

Submitted my character for approval. Will adjust character sheet where needed if you want things on it.

Edit: swapped 1 spell I just realize makes lots of sense for her to have

Aisede reached out to a couple of his favorite players from my old home and invited them to the game. I didn't really endorse it, but I do like the players he pitched to. I'll make grouping decisions based on whether I get one or both.

Grey also joined us and I know they want to go with the Ravenclaw group. Might wind up with two groups of six after all.
