Re-recruitment: This game has been going for some months now, and players are starting to enter a new overarching plot of the campaign. I'm looking for one more player to add to our group of 5.
Game system: OVA: The Anime RPG
This is a rules-lite system that's partially freeform, and gives great liberty to build any character you want, while going a bit deeper when it comes to combat. I expect players that have never heard of it, of course, and only a minimal commitment of looking into it to make your PC and such is asked. Also, the current players are already proficient at it, and will be helpful to new ones, of course.
Players would all be first year high school students in the academy, you can chose any monster race (agreed with the GM); the system (and setting!) allows for great diversity of powers and abilities, even between characters of the same race. All monsters have a human form, and pass most of their time in it, only revealing their true-selves when in danger or needing to use some power dependent on their monster form.
Tone-wise, the game will alternate between lighthearted and funny shenanigans & a more serious and dramatical story, stakes progressively growing. Overall, the campaign would mix adventure, battles, comedy and drama (without falling into cheesy melodrama).
Finally, about availability, I'm looking for people who can write at least a post a day. I plan a somewhat long campaign ahead, with 12 main chapters, allowing for extra side-stories too.
This is a pretty anime-y game, being itself inspired by Rosario + Vampire, a manga series that starts at a fantasy rom-com and develops as a battle-shounen halfway. You can expect themes and tropes from the medium; if you're not into that, this game really isn't for you.
We keep things reasonably Safe For Work in here, though myself and the current players have dwelt on some ecchi tropes for comedic effect sometimes.
To apply, I'd like you to describe your a concept for your PC, bonus points for an image too!
PCs so far are:
+ An eccentric and clueless huge Dragon girl who have a crowd of fans and aims to collect princesses for her hoard
+ A Tsundere witch who likes sweets and aims to be a physician; she may or may not be a bit sadistic, though having a kind heart at the end of the day.
+ A nice fox-girl shrine maiden with a badass goddess inhabiting her and shares her body.
+ A female Oni seeking enlightenment through the teachings of the Buddha, and a martial-artist.
+ A female Yasha, princess of the Chinese Mafia, and a foreign student, with psychic powers.
