Not just yet. I'd like to enquire about the guide Azaka before meeting with Syndra, and also like to walk around town to get familiar with the important locations of Port Nyanzaru.

enquire whom? You understand that request to inquiring merchant princes is like inquire a senator of US
how do you differentiate important locations from not so? Yesterday you met an NPC who were about to show you what he think is important at a price. Are you willing to find another NPC to do that at a cost? I will need a charisma check (disadvantage) in game chapter to see if you manage to get one and at what price.

I'd also like to talk to one of the merchant princes about getting permission for us to use magic. ( unless I'm misunderstanding this region's rules for magic use.) Can't imagine we'd be much help to anyone without our spells

I for one am ready for the meeting, but of course I only speak for myself.

Larsie is also ready for the meeting.

EDIT: She did have one more question our Undril.

I got the info I wanted and am ready for the meeting.

OK, let's give @TatharCiryatan more time to decide on Yendil walking around town (either on his own or by hiring some local) and if/how he is going to search for Azaka.

The contact information to Jabal was given if we wanted to ask about Azaka, so I imagine that's the best approach. If the merchant prince's are like senators, I'd assume that they have people employed to be in charge of handing out information about guides.

Maybe important buildings wasn't the right term. Was thinking of high traffic buildings, and big buildings in general.

Do you mean Gondolo and Faroul? I was under the impression that they were talking about an expedition outside of Port Nyanzaru, not as a city guide.

As we're continuing with Syndra, I'll try to keep it short as to not drag this out.

Sorry, I was not detailed enough about contact details of Jabal. There is pointer to his villa, But as you go there guards explain you need to have your 30-day advance payment to (150 GP) in order book a meeting with prince and sign the contract of hiring a guide.

Big buildings:
You know about 3 temples, Goldenthrone and Grand Colisseum
You would discover Grand Souk (market bigger than Red Bazaar where you can buy anything - not just food/dress)
I can spoil there are some smaller building of importance, but your PCs would guess their importance until they have a specific need to be addressed. For example there are a few Public Bathhouses but would you care to go to any of them if it is too hot?

There is one big building not yet mentioned and I added it to story thread

You got it right about Gondolo and Faroul. No I mean locals like Chiwa or the thief some of you met be willing to earn some money buy sharing you what they know about the city.

Okay, than I think that all questions Yendil had at the moment are answered. Thanks!

Please don't be shy. Do keep posting in first thread if you have anything. I actually want to share with you more guide posters your PC found in the city. Will do that later today when at at PC.

Sorry for not posting for a couple days, I was moving and couldn't get on until tonight.

I could see quite often that a player or two may want to still do something in a scene and often that would not have a major impact on next scene. I am ready to make a thread per scene and keep as much previous scenes run in parallel as you want. Maybe you see a drawback of such approach and would prefer one scene to end properly before next begins?

Would you like simultaneous scenes?

Yes, please. I could sometimes come up with more ideas on next day
No, I would prefer to read/particulate story in chronological order

In this chapter 1 I decided to split day in following periods (first 3 are active periods in for your PCs to do some actions):
1. Morning(approx 4 hours).
2. Midday (4 more),
3. Evening (4)
4. Night (8 hours) - if you want to do anything in this period you may not get your long rest
The rest 4 hours a day for eating and mid-day resting.

I didn't vote, because I don't know what I prefer. I'm fine with whatever the majority chooses.
Nov 16, 2024 11:32 am
OK I'm going to try to keep scene 2 and 3 in parallel, will ask your feedback before moving to scene 4 to decide if I will open that scene before or after 2 and 3 and locked.

@TatharCiryatan @szemely just a reminder that I am waiting for your posts in scene 3.

Let's talk about timeline. I suggest following, how do you like it:
You sleep 00:00-8:00
Active adventuring time spit in twice 4 hours: 10:00 AM -2:00 PM and 4:00PM-8:00 PM
You can do some extra socializing at the pub 2 hours before go sleep (in the jungle you can do adventuring at risk of possible exhaustion)
There are 3 time slots associated with eating times, but they include more that eating.
Breakfast 8:00-10:00 AM
Lunch 2:00PM - 4:00 PM
Dinner 8:00PM-10:00PM

Please let me know if this makes sense and I'll use it in story, i.e. it would mean that at the story we are at 11:30 AM approx.

Yeah, that's a good thing to talk about, because this is how it I was thinking of it while in Port Nyanzaru:

11:00 PM-07:00 AM Longrest (considering breakfast a light activity between 11:00 PM-12:00 PM and 06:00 AM-07:00 AM)
07:00 AM-12:00 AM Adventure
12:00 AM-01:00 PM Lunch/Short rest
01:00 PM-06:00 PM Adventure
06:00 PM-07:00 PM Dinner/Short rest
07:00 PM-11:00 PM Light adventuring/social activities/investigating

I feel like this schedule is more fit for gathering intel, like we're doing now, and your schedule fits while on expedition. We'er mostly doing light activities, no straining travel. But if you decide otherwise, I won't complain ;)

Seems reasonable. Nothing we're doing currently (for the most part) requires a hard timeline. Meeting at, say, 5pm is no different than meeting at 7pm.
