I am good with it. Every band needs roadies.
Oct 13, 2024 5:42 pm
Sure!! Although, he'll be getting the last instrument for the band... Or a roadie, yes

Qralloq's Premise:
Our team of paranormal investigators is hired to investigate Lakeshore Haven, a summer lake resort that was abandoned after a brutal mass murder twenty years ago. The site has since become the subject of urban legends and unexplained phenomena, drawing in curious investigators. Strange sightings, eerie sounds, and disappearing locals near the lake have reignited interest in the location, and your team has been called in to uncover the truth behind the haunting.

Expanding the concept: The team is a reuniting music band, originally from high school, moving around in a van.

So far, the band members:
Gene:
High Concept: Ex-Web/computer Designer, Ripping Keyboard player for Band.
Trouble: Drinking, Caught Hacking

Cathamber:
H.C.: Freelance expert hacker. Plays bass guitar.
Trouble: Got fired, his ex-boss hates him.
Aspect: He never learned to fight.
Aspect: Competent lockpicker and in cryptology.

Phil:
High Concept: Low-Rent Mall Security Guard
Trouble: Lazy/Unmotivated Last

Mathias:
High Concept: Warehouse forklift driver. Plays sax.
Trouble: still stuck in HS mind set. Cruising and drinking every night,

Gentleman:
High Concept: Ex-Con Dad of All Trades. Singer in the band.
Trouble: Kinda Dumb/Too Smart
Aspect: I Will Make My Son Proud
Aspect: Ultimate Handyman With a Nice Voice
Aspect: Wannabe Detective Kid

Dragostern
To be defined... Probably Guitar player or roadie?

I'm guessing that Phil will get the drums... Right?
Will need to select music genre soon, and then band's name..

Did I miss something relevant for this summary?

Yes I have never played a modern type game. All have been fantasy based so don't know ability type stuff for stunts.

So, what Skills are y'all picking? Thus far I have only decided to have Crafts at +4, Physique and Will at +1 at least. Is it alright to put Academics rather than Lore in the sheet? (Academics is a Condensed skill, which is like Core's Lore but limited to non-magical stuff). Skills I'm also gonna pick but dunno at what rating: Investigate, Athletics, Fight, Stealth, Rapport, maybe Empathy

A question for our good GM: what would be the right Skills to use when trying to amicably interrogate someone? Or perhaps not so amicably, but falling short of threats (Provoke)? I ask this because I want to write a Stunt that makes it easier for my char's kid to get answers from people due to him seeming cute and harmless when questioning them, and I'm not sure what Skill to associate it with.

To me that sounds like Rapport.

Hmm. Skills: Physique for drinking, Crafts for hardware, Investigate for chess, Empathy to feel the crowd

Just some thoughts.

Skills according to the Fate Core book:
1 skill at Great (+4)
2 skills at Good (+3)
3 skills at Fair (+2)
4 skills at Average (+1)
Are we using this rule? Or do we get less at starting point?

If this is the case, my first draft would be:
Great +4 Engineering
Good +3 Burglary, Stealth
Fair +2 Resources, Investigate, Lore
Average +1 Contacts, Academics, Shoot, Will

Thus, Owen can be the one creating gadgets (or machines), operating computers, opening whatever someone thought was safely closed and is overall sneaky. Under 'lore' he has read plenty about paranormal stuff.
Not good with people though, nor with fighting or driving.

Blue is not driving the band van. Have to think about engineer for computer hardware over using craft. Hey Dracostern. The Russian is a good driver. Hic. (Gotta love hard vodka)

Hahaha, definitely not driving Russian!
He would be sitting in the last row, either reading a paranormal book, creating a new gadget, or writing a new bass riff with his bass guitar (although not plugged to amps).

Sure enough, the Russian would be driving the van, perfectly save after his 7th whiskey, or vodka, or.. what WERE you drinking now?

Could be too that he doesn't do well with American driving laws but has a license to kill. VODKA! Kills all you're ails.
