M'Ress shrugs requests a tea for herself, happy to get...hopefully...the one she didn't have the chance to drink earlier. Perhaps a bit if both really. I thought as a fellow scientist we could speak about the summit, the gossip, what have you. Rather surprised I hadn't heaed about it...probably in one of the journals back logged on my PADD. This one wants everything to be investigative she gestures to Drake

Drake knows he's not the most diplomatic and plays along with the doctor, thankful for her friendly encouragement toward the Ferengi scientist. His hackles raise a little though when the Ferengi suggests she is only asking her questions out of "fairness".

Sure she is.

Nodding at the doc's comment, he continues to play along. Shrugging his shoulders he admits, "It's true. I can't help myself."

"Well, if this footage is accurate, the facts of the murder are clear." Aurin folded his arms. "The weapon, the victim, and the culprit are clearly visible. And it seems like the culprit attempted to inject some interference into the surveillance footage - luckily it didn't completely garble the data."

"It looks like he absconded with a data crystal." Aurin tried to focus on the moment the object was taken. "Curious. If it was valuable enough to provoke such a crime, why was it here?" He looked skyward, as if he could see the alien ship on station, at whatever interplanetary orbit it had taken up as not to threaten the conference. "If it is some kind of state secret - a covert handoff of some kind of intelligence, perhaps - that would explain why our hosts are so close-mouthed... and why the victim's associates are so up in arms, above and beyond the usual outrage."

Drake offers his hand despite the scientist not offering hers.

"Drake Zarah, Security." If she takes his hand, he will squeeze gently and meet her eyes. If not, he would meet her eyes anyway. If he can put her on edge, maybe she will stop sidestepping the question.

"So what do you know about the murder? What are the gossipers saying and what do you think happened?"

M'Ress perks up, her ears twitch with interest. ooh that is fascinating. Doctor M'Ress. Chief Medical officer. she offers a hand as well

"Or it could be some important piece of science? Definitely something worth killing for. It seems pretty obvious this is the culprit. But then why hasn't this case already been solved? Why is he being protected? Why did we get warnings not to jump to conclusions about the suspects?" Luna asks puzzled.

"It all seems so clear cut from this footage. Maybe I just overthinking this. Maybe we should just go apprehend him straight away?"

Drake figured it was time to cut to the chase.

"You might know something about it because we have ascertained that the murder is a Ferengi, much like yourself."

He wasn't going to reveal who he had quesioned. It was none of her business.

"You seemed startled when I first mentioned it."

"Humans can be rude that is certain" she rests a hand on Drake's shoulder, but also tries to gauge if there is anything about her mannerisms that seem to indicate she's hiding something.
"Perhaps you and I can chat after the next lecture. I wanted to stay but Im sure this one wont let me. I would love to see your notes" she sips her tea. "And hear whatever passes for gossip of course".

Suppressing the urge to sneer at the tiresome scientist, he casts a glance at the doctor, signaling his support for her plan. He hoped he’d unsettled the Ferengi just enough to make her want to confide in M’Ress.

"I'll leave you two to gossip then," he says, making another cup of coffee for himself. He then returns to his seat.

M'Ress smiles, I will now, that sounds disturbing but in a strangely good way
She attempts to register on her PADD

M'Ress does register when Doctor Prirra gets a message on her PADD. she quickly reads it, looks at you both, reads her PADD again, hisses with her jagged teeth, then incongruously says, "I've been called away. Bye." She lopes off in a kind of simian gait.

Drake watches her go from his seat and gives chase. He doesn't run but walks quickly without bringing too much attention to himself. As he follows, he messages the others on his comm.

I'm following the Fenergi scientist. She has been behaving suspiciously and has abruptly left the conference room.

"Should I hang back and find out what she was interested in here, or shall I aid in intercepting?" she glances at her tea, making a tiny growl when she realizes she may not be able to drink it....again

"I think we both need to follow her. I have a feeling about this. She acted so strangely earlier. This might sound crazy, but I think she is the murderer. I've alerted the others that we are following."

Drake sees the doctor look disappointedly at her tea. "Don't worry, you'll have a nice big tea at your leisure once we apprehend her."

She sighs and puts down her tea and follows

Meanwhile at the suit.

"Before we do anything else, perhaps we should check the rest of the data. What did the victim do before he was murdered? How did he talk to? Did he get the data crystal here or did he already carry it? Do you think we can track that, Auri-Ah?"
