Yeah, that aspect of character creation can be confusing. I thought characters got that extra gold when I first read through the PHB.

Is Stoneward on the map? I don't see it.

If it's a place you created for your origin, I'd like you to substitute it for one on the map. I think there are enough places to choose from.

If you need some help determining which place is appropriate, let me know. But I don't really have detailed lore for these places yet.

For example, you could choose the great fortress-city of Vuldun (also the capital of Umbermoor) is you want him to be from a city.

Timbervale has a thriving timber industry.

Ulsternaulde is on the coast, so harbor and coastal stuff.

Lemme know if you need info on other places.

Got it, yeah I made that place up, mostly because at the time I couldn't find locations haha, I think it would be interesting if he was from Ulsternaulde!

Ulsternaulde is fine! Being on the coast and close to Graylock, it's an important port. Population is around 5,000. Since it's a port city, all sorts of different races and salty dogs coming in and out, and a fair amount of shenanigans. If you're sticking with the former guard origin, he'd have some interesting stories if he both grew up here, and ended up stationed here.

Yeah that’s the idea, I’m going with the former guard route with him! Though he is on the younger side haha
