Dare you deny the Draconic Prophecy? Join me on an epic swashbuckling sandbox adventure across the length and breadth of Eberron. Cross steel with the Lord of Blades! Discover the secrets of the enigmatic Lady Vol! Match wits with the dragons of the Chamber and the fiends of the Lords of Dust!

This game will be beginner friendly, no experience with Savage Worlds or the Eberron setting required. There will be a fair mix of combat, investigation, exploration and role-playing. The game will include some horrific elements.

I'm looking for five players for this game. I'll monitor this thread until 9am CST Friday October 25th, at which point I'll choose from those who've posted here.

I accidentally bought Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone that is a wild-west-spin on eberron. I know that this book is created for D&D5e2024 in mind, so its not relevant here.

I'm tempted to join, but I want to know what kind of story you wanna tell first.

I think it would be interesting to play an Elan.

I don't yet own Frontiers of Eberron, but any lore is relevant to the game. As for story, I'm open. Are you all an up and coming gang of criminals in Sharn, warring with the established gangs? Are you investigating the rumors that the king of Karrnath is undead? Are you a team of scavengers that travel into the Mournland to retrieve treasures lost to the devastation of the Mourning? Are you secret agents of the king of Breland, defending crown and country from threats foreign and domestic? Any of these plus a hundred other possibilities would work.

How about a kalashtar?

Never really was clear on the difference as either are just a human vessel hosting a quori spirit which suits me just fine.

Hey there, I'm definitely interested. Fan of SW, familiar with Ebberon and would like to learn more about the setting. Was in a brief SW Ebberon PbP game a while back, but it quickly folded and would like to try again.

Would this use the updated SW Ebberon sourcebook as well?

We can use that book yes. I'll check it out.

The weave of reality sure has changed somehow. What do I need to learn the new physics? Where does one start with the new system?

There are free test drive rules here. They feature the Deadlands setting. The mechanics are the same. I'll be providing further resources for the players I invite to the game.

I am definitely interested. I don't have any previous experience in the system. I have previously player Pathfinder 2e and Ad&D and D&D 3e and 5e.

Savage Worlds is a little different, but easy to pick up. Most of the time your just rolling a couple dice and trying to hit a target number, which is often 4.

This looks like an abridged version, judging by page count. Is there a full book that should be used for the crunch, especially since Eberron has magic and peculiar species? (I'm wondering about adapting the uncanny bard from the previous campaign into Savage Worlds.)

The books you need are the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition Core Rulebook, the SWADE Fantasy Companion, and Savage Eberron. I can provide access to those when I invite players.

Oh hell. I can't resist a Savage Worlds game. Count me in! I am fully versed in the system (having been running it for several years) and have all the necessary books.

By 'Savage Eberron', do you mean this, or something else (perhaps the name is not quite spot-on)?

That’s it.

For those new to the system, it's very easy to pick up. Roll a dice type as determined by your Skill or Attribute, try to get a 4 or more. If you roll the maximum amount possible on that die, that's an Ace. Roll again and add the results. Do this as often as your die Aces. If you're trying to hit something, 4 points above the number you need is a Raise. That adds a d6 to your damage.

All Wild Cards (like player characters) get a Wild Die (d6) that you roll alongside your Skill die. It can also Ace. You take whichever die ends up with the highest result. There are a few other nuances that can modify your target number, but most often it is 4. Oh, I almost forgot, your damage dice can Ace as well!

For damage, compare your damage roll to the opponent's Toughness. If you beat their Toughness by 3 or less, they are Shaken. Beat it by 4 or more and that's a Wound. If you get multiple Raises, you can stack additional Wounds. Wild Cards (player characters and main villains) can take 4 Wounds. Mooks can suffer only 1 Wound before they are down.

Ooh, forgot about Bennies. These are tokens that you get at the start of each session that allow you to reroll dice, shrug off Wounds, recover from Shaken, regain used Power Points (that power your supernatural abilities), and even make minor changes to the story (with the GM's permission).

Benny for WhtKnt for the succinct tutorial!
