Thanks for the invite! And the book repository, looking forward to digging into the lore more.

Still thinking of an Artificer or Soulknife, maybe gnome but not sure yet. Regarding the Artificer I'm a bit confused on how they work. Is it more like weird science where I'm using a mechanical trapping, or am I actually investing power points into items, for myself and others to use? If the latter, are these permanent or temporary?
You are investing power points into items, and it is temporary.

@Knighthawke what book is that from?
That is from the upcoming/backer-released SWPF Advanced Player's guide 2.

It looks balanced to me. Go for it.

@WhtKnt I don't see her on the game page. Looks fine though.

So where would you all like to begin the game? So far we have interest in the Mournland and a desire to not do the Mournland.

Regarding the start, I'm not familiar enough with the setting so am down for wherever.

@ctme2000 Totally understand. Be default I'll probably start us in Sharn, but we won't stay there long. It's actually a good place to go to other places from.

Maybe instead of picking a starting place we should pick a group patron. You all could be a research team from the University of Morgrave, or agents of the King of Breland or Prince Orgev, the last surviving noble of Cyre. Or freelance inquisitives in Sharn. Or something else.

Agents of a king, nobility or connected to a dragonmarked house would be my suggestion

Ancestry in Eberron is calculated to 4 positive abilities. What does that mean in the character creation? I feel as if it's a looping reference to some book, that then again references to the core book, that doesn't say

I believe that's there so you know how many abilities you could give a custom ancestry you built yourself. There are rules for that in the SWADE core book. It shouldn't affect character creation.

thank you - I have submitted my character, but I'm not finished yet - you should however be able to see what direction I'm headed, and if you spot something directly wrong, let me know

What is our starting money amount?
Oct 27, 2024 9:21 am
@runekyndig All I see missing really is her ancestry and which dragonmark she has.

No starting funds. Pick equipment you find reasonable. If I object to something we'll talk about it.

I think I've hit upon an awesome patron for the group. We'll be starting in Sharn, but not staying there for long. Your characters do not have to know each other from the outset (although they can). I would like you to decide what you're doing in Sharn, which is the largest, most cosmopolitan city on the continent of Khorvaire. Did you grow up there? Did you come there after the War?

Kue is no lady of courtly manners or noble birth. She is a hardened soldier of House Tharashk, a house known for its skilled trackers and prospectors. Kue’s specialty wasn’t just leading charges or swinging blades, but making sure her team was equipped, prepared, and protected against the dangers they faced. As the quartermaster of a tight-knit group of five, she earned her title not just through command, but through care and capability. In their group, the team used card names as their call signs—Jack, King, Clubs, Ace, and Nine. And Kue? She was their "Queen of Diamonds."

Her role wasn’t merely about logistics; Kue was the one who ensured the team’s magical wards were in place, their rations packed, and their route planned. When tensions ran high before a mission, Kue’s steady hand and cool demeanor became their anchor. In a world of steel and shadow, she was the subtle strategist, their hidden ace—making her the "Queen" in their deck.

The group, operating under House Tharashk, specialized in recovering stolen artifacts and securing valuable relics that belonged to the Kingdom of Cyre.

After the war ended, the group disbanded, with each member trying to carve out a new life in the shattered remains of their world. News reached her that Nine, the youngest and most reckless of their crew, had met his end in a senseless bar brawl in Sharn—a death that seemed beneath the man he once was.

Driven by a sense of duty and a desire to honor her fallen comrade, Kue made her way to Sharn. She intended to give Nine a proper burial and ensure his memory wasn't tainted by the way he died.
