The heroes position themselves in the narrow doorway, forming a defensive chokepoint as the skeletal warriors advance in steady, relentless formation. With their backs to the corridor and shoulders squared, they brace against the worn stone, forcing the undead to funnel toward them in the confined space. The flickering greenish light from the bone chandelier above casts eerie shadows across the skeletal figures, their black iron blades gleaming ominously as they draw near.

Each step brings the undead closer, their hollow eye sockets fixed on the living with an unsettling, unblinking intensity. The corpselight from the candles bathes the scene in a sickly glow, reflecting off the chipped, ancient bones and the dull metal of rusted armor, making the skeletal figures appear as twisted, monstrous relics of ages past. The faint clinking of bones and the scrape of their iron weapons against the stone floor grow louder with each slow, unhurried advance, heightening the tension in the enclosed space.

With makeshift weapons gripped tightly, the heroes raise their arms defensively, steeling themselves against the inevitable clash. Every nerve is on edge as they realize the mortal danger of facing these tireless, unyielding foes in close quarters. The doorframe becomes their shield, their only chance to contain the numbers pressing against them.

As the first of the undead reaches the doorway, it raises its blade high, its hollow eyes flashing in the corpselight as though mocking the living before it. The heroes know that every inch given here may be fatal, and with a shared, determined glance, they brace for the coming fight, prepared to hold the line or fall in the attempt.

Thanks to the positioning of the heroes, only two of the skeletals are able to attack with their black blades.
OOC:
I guess I will roll defense for everyone. In the future, though, try to add any defense rolls to the bottom of your action posts.
Kruul the Last

Kruul is able to ward off the first skeletal's attack with the crude blade he took from the gaoler.

Hambul "The Arrow"

Likewise, Hambul performs a sweeping kick just as the skeletal attacks him, knocking it off balance and causing the blade to slam into the nearby wall instead of its intended target.
OOC:
Mahluk, you're up.

The sharpened stone draws blood from Mahluk's copper chest as he lies on the cold ground in an obscene position. Chanting pours from his throat that hardly seems human, and does not seem to be coming from his vocal cords. An invocation to summon a demon, but who can say what will answer?
OOC:
Trying to summon a lvl 2 demon.

As Mahluk’s chanting reaches its crescendo, the oppressive air of the corridor seems to thicken, vibrating faintly with the power of his incantation. Shadows on the walls flicker unnaturally, and the faint scent of sulfur wafts through the room. Suddenly, the stone floor just behind the skeletal attackers glows with an otherworldly red light, a sharp, pulsating hue that pierces the dim greenish gloom. The light spreads into the shape of an intricate, arcane circle, its symbols etched in blazing red, seeming to burn with unholy energy.

From the center of the glowing circle, the air ripples and distorts, as though reality itself were bending. A pair of long, clawed hands grip the edges of the circle like a hatchway, and a small, sinewy demon pulls itself up and out, crawling into the hallway as if emerging from a chasm. Its reddish skin glistens with an unnatural sheen, and its bat-like wings, slightly tattered, flutter faintly as it straightens itself. Two glowing yellow eyes, filled with mischief and malice, survey the scene with an unnatural intelligence.

The demon rises to its feet, unnervingly nimble and quick, standing no taller than a small child but exuding an air of menace far greater than its size. It turns its sharp, angular head toward Mahluk, its lips curling into a toothy grin filled with jagged, uneven teeth. With a dramatic and mocking flourish, the demon bows deeply to the warlock, its clawed fingers splayed wide, as though acknowledging both its summoner’s power and its own delight at being unleashed.

Then, with a quick pivot, it fixes its glowing eyes on the skeletal figures attacking Kruul and Hambul. Its wings stretch slightly, and its clawed hands flex as if itching for violence. A low, guttural chuckle escapes its throat, echoing unnervingly down the corridor. The demon crouches slightly, its muscles tensing, ready to unleash its fury upon the undead interlopers with gleeful malice, as if it views the coming chaos as a game it intends to win.

The demon's claw attack successfully slammed into one of the skeletals, causing a little of the creature to crumble away.

Emboldened by their successful defense against the skeletal warriors’ feeble strikes, Kruul and Hambul surge forward with newfound confidence. Kruul’s rusty blade flashes in the dim greenish light as he swings with brutal force, channeling all his rage and strength into the attack. The blow lands squarely on the skeletal before him, shattering it into an explosion of bone shards that scatter across the room. The fragments clatter harmlessly to the ground, their energy spent, leaving a faint mist of dust in the air where the skeletal had once stood.

Beside him, Hambul seizes the opportunity created by the demon’s earlier assault. With an efficient and precise strike from his improvised weapon, Hambul finishes off the weakened skeletal, sending it crumbling into a heap of brittle remains. His attack is swift and calculated, a stark contrast to Kruul’s savage fury, but no less effective. The skeletal falls with a hollow clatter, its glowing eyes extinguished as the life animating it fades into the ether.

Oral, positioned just behind the two warriors, watches the scene unfold with a sharp, tactical eye. He keeps his weapon at the ready, carefully assessing the battlefield for any vulnerabilities or shifts in the enemies’ approach. His calm demeanor belies the tension in the air, his mind working quickly to weigh options and anticipate the next move. For now, he holds the line, ensuring that their position remains strong and unbroken.

Even as the shattered remains of the first wave fall to the ground, two more skeletal figures lurch forward, their black iron blades raised high. Their movements are faster, more determined, as if driven by a deeper malice, but their attacks are wild and undisciplined, more like flailing than combat. One skeletal’s blade whistles harmlessly through the air near Kruul, while the other’s attack clatters against the floor in a misjudged strike aimed at Hambul. The summoned demon, gleefully prowling at their side, snarls and snaps at the attackers, its claws itching to strike again.

The momentary missteps of the enemy leave the group with a fleeting advantage, the corridor echoing with the clatter of missed blows and the hollow, rattling groans of the skeletal foes as they press onward. The air feels charged with tension, the battle hanging precariously in the balance.

Mahluk lies in the ground still crying out in a hoarse voice and strange tongue words of command, keeping the demon bound and subservient. The foul entity darts back and forth, its wings not slowing it any as its claws rake and slice at the animated bones.

Kruul and Hambul launched their attacks with savage precision, their blows landing with devastating effect. Kruul’s rusty blade smashed into the skeletal before him, the sheer force of the strike splintering ribs and sending bone shards ricocheting through the air. The creature’s skull was torn from its spine and clattered to the ground, its glowing eye sockets extinguished in an instant. Hambul followed suit with a powerful, calculated swing of his improvised weapon, severing the skeletal’s head cleanly from its body in a single, brutal motion. The decayed remains collapsed into a heap, fragments of bone and shreds of ancient cloth scattering across the blood-stained floor. Even their black iron swords were knocked free, spinning across the room with dull, metallic clangs.

The companions barely had time to relish their success before the remaining skeletal warriors advanced. Their movements, while stilted and unnatural, were purposeful, driven by an unseen, potent force that refused to let them falter. The greenish glow of the chandelier above reflected off their blades as they raised their weapons high and pressed the attack, their relentless silence more unnerving than a battle cry.

This time, their strikes found their mark. One skeletal swung its black iron sword with a surprising speed, its blade carving a deep scratch across Hambul’s arm. He grimaced in pain but kept his footing, clutching his weapon tighter as blood seeped through the tear in his clothing. Another skeletal lunged at Kruul, its blade slicing across his chest. The impact left a jagged, heavy gash that oozed blood, staining his already battle-worn attire. Kruul growled through clenched teeth, his rage and determination outweighing the pain.

The air grew heavier with the stench of decay and the iron tang of blood as the combat intensified. Despite the wounds they bore, Kruul and Hambul held their ground, defiant against the encroaching undead. The flickering green light from above illuminated the scene with an eerie glow, casting dancing shadows across the shattered bones and fallen swords. Though wounded, the two warriors prepared for the next clash, their resolve unwavering as the skeletal onslaught continued.
