Meepo stands on a barstool to get a little higher view. After the performance he claps with great passion and starts whistling the best he can at least

Entering midway through the song, Vice is an enamored by the performance as anyone. He sits patiently in his brightly colored outfit, holding his yellow chakram in both hands. When the song is done he rushes to the stage, exuberantly shaking the bard's hand, and exclaiming "You're hired! Especially if you can think of a rhyme for '37'. Welcome to the team!"

The room sits in silent reverence during the performance. Those who regularly attend the tavern are usually treated to simple songs meant for partying or frivolity. A performance as powerful as this catches the patrons off guard. Nonetheless, they are unable to take their attention away from the elf woman before them.

Despite not having even seen it, Laulalith somehow perfectly displays the battle from two days ago. The lightning, chaos and the heroes all so accurately represented. Many of the patrons remove their hats in respect to the prowess of the performer on stage.

As the ballad comes to a close, there’s a short beat of stunned silence before the entire tavern erupts in whoops and applause. Hands slam on tables and boots stomp on the wooden floor as the Grey Beyond rumbles from the din. As a purple cloaked gnome rushes the stage, calls for an encore ring out from the dusty crowd, as the light still shines on Laulalith.

Trusk joins in the raucous applause. "That was amazing!" he shouts to no one in particular.

37 watches the last half of the performance, entering with Vice.

It's hard to tell his impression of the show, the fact his face doesn't really move not helping things at all. When it ends, and the crowd erupts, the generally stoic warforged certainly seems to survey the gathered patrons as if gauging their reactions. And then Vice runs off.

Well... we were looking for more people to assist us, he muses with a shrug.

Tryne joins the others in applause at the spectacular show, having never seen anything like that in the slum bars he is accustomed to attending. Adding his voice to the cheers of everyone else in the bar. Laughing he says to himself mostly, "I think I'm going to like this place..."

As the performance ends and the cheers of the crowd greet her, Laulalith cannot help but smile and laugh. This crowd is much more fun to work with than the bored aristocrats she has met at court. For a moment, she forgets her purpose here, and simply enjoys the thrill of the successful performance.

When the gnome graps her hand, she sends him a confused smile. At first, she thinks he's just an over-excited fan, but then it dawns on her: "You're one of them! You're one of the Guardians of Salvation!" And then her smile broadens "I was you. I was you, just before!"

As the gnome starts talking about a job, she is brought back to the reality. This is an unexpected opportunity to find the allies she needs to explore the Mournland. "A job? Oh, how exciting. Would that mean that I get to participate in your next adventure?"

"A job with you and thirty-seven? That's my idea of heaven"

Seeing Vice talking with Laulith, Trusk goes to introduce himself. "Greetings. I am Trusk. Did you really cut the head off of the Warforged Titan?"
Nov 14, 2024 12:59 am
Yes, you were me! You were all of us! Just incredible. But why pretend, when you can be one of us? Due to some odd and curious occurrences we need a few more uh. What was it you said? 'Guardians of Salvation'. We could use a clever wordsmith to sing of our inevitable future victories." hearing the mention of the titan he turns "I did! Admittedly, only after the rest of the team distracted her and opened a gap or two in her armor. HEY! We could use some muscle too. You should join us too! Trusk, will you help us to, uh we are, well 37 will explain our next quest. 37, come tell them what adventure await them! I'mgoing to see who else rolled into town." Vice says and he jumps down from the stage to find dinner, a drink and more adventurers

37 watches Vice run off into the crowd. Turning back to the new people his companion seemed to have "hired" on the spot, the artificer doesn't speak initially, choosing his words carefully.

"We took a job to retrieve some supplies from within the grey. Forgive me, but the details are a guarded matter. Suffice to say, we have transportation and we know the location we are searching for. However we expect it to be dangerous, as any foray into the Mournland tends to be. We would offer an equal cut of the profits, once the sponsor takes their cut and any related fees are paid of course. It also could lead into more work, if any of you were considering regular employment."

Vice yells over the crowd to 37, "Dont forget to offer a place to sleep, that is very most likely, no longer haunted!"
Nov 14, 2024 2:50 am
The orange haired man at the bar laughed, "Not haunted? I thought that was half the fun of this place."
Nov 14, 2024 4:55 am
"Vice is correct. We are mostly certain the undead in the basement are now just dead."

If the large metal man is making a joke, it might be the absolute best deadpan any of you have ever seen.

As Vice jumps down from the stage away from the performance to find dinner, drink and more adventurers a small Kobold wanders up to him. "I heard that you told them that um you may be looking for more friends to help you with" he continues looking down at the floor sheepishly "you might be looking for more to help you in your adventures? Mind if Meepo come along to help if he can? I promise not to get in the way. Meepo can do more than most Kobolds and can help you."
Nov 14, 2024 7:38 am
Vice gives the Kobold a bright smile, puts his hands on his shoulders, and says reassuringly; "Meepo, never underestimate your ability to help keep me from danger! You should have seen the amizing things Peldan could do before he, . . . vanished i guess. But don't worry about that. What we should worry about, is finding someone to hide behind, while we hurl weapons and magics and our enemies. So, who's the toughest looking warrior you've seen come in with you on the last train?"
Nov 14, 2024 1:55 pm
Meepo smiles and Vice's kind words. "it is hard to tell. Meepo has learned over the years not to judge a book by its cover. But if only by sight that one arrived with me and looks really strong." and Meepo points to Torhak
Nov 14, 2024 2:31 pm
Torhak had watched the show with great interest. He had never been to a theatre performance, preferring gladiatorial entertainment over lights and fancy magic tricks. This was on another level, though it did make him wonder about the bard that performed it. He knew why he was here, he knew the dangers of the Mournland first hand. He knew he was here to conquer it. But why would a seemingly first class performer be here, in this disheveled run down hovel of a town on the edge of chaos.

Still he couldn't help but notice Vice and Meepo point him out, and so he 'hopped' down from the barstool, his hooves making a loud clunking sound as they struck the wood floor and walked over to them. He knelt down so as to speak with them face to face. "I am Torhak, it is a pleasure to meet a warrior capable enough to fell that" he shoved a thumb over his shoulder to indicate the Titaness. "I heard you before say you were hiring?"
Nov 14, 2024 3:35 pm
Even with the Minotaur kneeling, Vice still has to look up to him. Even though Torhaks words were kind, Vice still spoke with caution, "Less hiring, and more putting a team together. No leader, and we split rewards evenly. If you're willing to brave the Gray Beyond, I thing you'll be a welcome addition." Vice start to visibly count on his fingers, "I think that leaves room from one more in our elemen . . in our carriage. Let's try and find another adventurer before the drinking starts"
OOC:
I think that's right, only Tryne hasn't been 'hired' by Vice yet?

OOC:
Kinda sorta? He did comment on the "most likely, no longer haunted" hall
Nov 14, 2024 5:48 pm
The orange haired half elf was not to be left out of this group if he could help it. Following the others forward, the mechanical lion following beside. Smiling broadly Tryne began, "Sadly, I can not content with the muscle of these two, but I've got a knack for the magical and I'm pretty good with scavenging tech."

At exactly the wrong moment, the lion sat down and yawned broadly. Tryne laughed, taking it in stride, "My friend is not so easily impressed it seems."

The artificer points at 37, "You my friend show the signs of some armor augmentation if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps we can talk shop while these others do the heavy lifting."

He looks at Vice, "Where do we go first?"
