As they discuss the job, Laulalith starts examining the items SheK left behind.
Her fingers glide over the surface of the map of the Mournland as she starts building a metal picture of the area. She closes her eyes for a moment, and then a three dimensional image starts growing out of the paper to help her visualize.the area. When she is satisfied that she has learned all she can from this map, she repeats the process with the other one.
Then she turns her attention to the ring and staff. As she handles the items, she starts singing softly in the language of her ancestors, weaving magic and questions into the melody and words to slowly convince them to give up their secrets.

Detect magic as a ritual. I think we have time for that.
Considering the house rule, I will use inspiration on an arcana roll to examine the staff. I believe we already know what there is to know about the ring.
