OOC:
I’m fine with fast and loose. Lets see what you’ve got.

Am I correct then that 37's attempts to break the others out of whatever they were experiencing (via shaking and shouting) were ineffective? Because I have a second step if that's the case... everyone in the carriage needs to make a CON save, DC 15.
"I am sorry."

Torhak saw the wheel, the obstacle ahead, the glimmer of light, and the ghostly apparition they were heading for. It didn't take much to convince him and he trusted his instincts, he grabbed the wheel and yanked it back towards the glimmer of light!
OOC:
Edit: Going to use my weekly inspiration on that one, me big minotaur!

[ +- ] Torhak & 37 POV
[ +- ] Tryne, Vice, Meepo & Lali POV
The cart pulls away from the mist. Meepo, Laulalith and Vice feel like they’ve been hit by a train… but come to their senses. Their ears are still ringing from the warforge’s spell. They are safe in their seats, once more inside the elemental cart. The world outside their windows is quiet, colourless and lifeless. Even the sunlight looks grey.

Tryne finds the Minotaur’s mighty hands wrapped around his, steering the cart to the left and the cart pulls lazily away from the towering wall of grey behind them.

An abandoned and mostly stripped, stretch of lightning rail tracks passes to their left. The air around them is deathly still. The driver and his partner feel no wind on their faces, despite the speed of the cart. The only sound is the crunching of the derelict turnpike beneath the cart’s wheels and the sizzle of the lightning elemental pulling them forward.

Meepo, Laulalith and Vice take 12 points of thunder damage

"My apologies, but my previous attempts to rouse you from whatever stupor you were suffering through proved ineffective," 37 explained as he settled back into his seat.
Dec 12, 2024 6:19 pm
Torhak sat back in the seat, releasing the wheel, satisfied that the danger was clear.

"Close one" he said with a sigh that blew his nose ring up a bit.

OOC:
so right now we are out of the grey mist but we need to go back in for the mission correct?
Meepo looks around. "What the?" what he just experienced seemed so real. Right now seems so real. There has to be a way to tell what is real and what is not.
"it's ok. I can only imagine how panicked you were. How did you not get affected?"

Tasrek says:
OOC:

OOC:
You’ve made it through the grey mists and into the Mournland. The mission is ahead of you.

"I am... uncertain. While it was not the first time I have dealt with the mists, experience does not provide protection," the Warforged explains, nodding at Vice as he does so. "There seem to be many possible variables, and while I would hate to say it largely comes down to luck..." 37 splays his hands, as if to say "there you have it."
Dec 12, 2024 7:12 pm
Vice looks around, stunned, and pretty sure he was about to eat his chakram. "No apologies needed. You did what you needed to keep us safe."
Dec 12, 2024 7:24 pm
Meepo strokes his chin as he was not satisfied with that answer but it made the most sense.

Meepo thinks of those up in front and sends a message spell to Torhak "how's it going up there? Meepo imagine it was crazy up there for you too!"
Dec 12, 2024 10:53 pm
Laulalith shakes her head and stares at the cursed grey wall receding behind them. She had been about to blast her way out of the cart and jump, but thankfully Thorhak got them out just in time.

"Please, take us away from this place. And then let's find a place to rest before we proceed.

Tryne could not help but scream as his train collided with the on coming train, the explosion rocking the cabin, eyes closed waiting for oblivion. Moments past and Tryne opened his eyes to view the coach and Torhak steering the controls.

The half-elf was shaken, looking around at the coach controls, he eased off on the speed, slowing the coach. He almost considered stopping, but decided to keep things moving. His throat was raw from screaming and his arms hurt from wrestling a minitour.

"What happened? I... I was on a train, another one coming right at us..." he shook his head, looking at Torhak. "Thanks. I don't know what happened."

Hearing the others comment about continuing, Tryne continued to drive carefully, constantly looking around for the missing train.

Tryne continues down the turnpike carefully for a short while. He is starting to get more confident with the cart. The elemental inside, seemingly becoming accustomed to his control. There are moments where the cart still resists his input, but he’s starting to make good pace. As best as 37 can tell, they have a couple of hours to continue before they leave this road.

Slowly, the silence of the area is replaced by random sourceless whispers. The further they continue, the more incessant they become. Yet, they are never able to fully understand any words or language. Like straining to hear a private conversation in a large room, what they voices say, is always just out of ear shot.
