Meepo turns around to the group and yells out. "Everyone hurry more will be here any second!!" He reaches in his back of tricks and pulls out two fuzzy objects and throws them down to the ground near the carriage.

Laulalith follows the dragon to the two figures sheltering under the wagon, and bows deeply as she walks up to them. "Mr Leith and Ms Virtue, I presume?" She does not wait for a response before proceeding. "My companions and I are here to bring you back, and it seems we don't have much time before those things come back." Then she turns, and calls out to the others. "We found them! Kalli, Vice! They're over here."
She retrieves two small vials from her pack and hands them to Leith. "One will heal your wounds. The other helps fight poison. But I fear that this black water is more sinister than any natural poison." Then she winks and proceeds. "I suppose both of these will also quench your thirst for a while, but we also have clean water in our cart if you need it."
Finally, she turns back to the dragon. "Please, Dubdub. If more of these monsters are coming, we need to leave now. A virtue can be a heavy burden to bear, but this one looks quite light. Please, would you carry her to the other side? You said that she now seeks the water, and I would rather not give her the opportunity to indulge."

Tryne jumps back into the driver seat of the coach, "I'm turning this around so we are ready to leave."
Careful of the water's edge, he backs the coach up and resets it so they can exit once everyone is ready.

Sorry, been a rough couple of days, there are a couple things seemingly happening simultaneously no? Torhak would have taken care of the sleeping creatures when asked, and then relayed Meepo's message, though now it seems also Meepo is warning of an attack so he would ready himself while retreating back to protect the others.Apr 27, 2025 11:14 pm

there is lots going on, but you would’ve had enough turns to dispatch the sleeping creature. We’ll say he’s down. Yes, Meepo is warning of an impending attack. This was just kind of to get everyone an opportunity to tell me what happened in the next minute. We can say Torhak is out of the water if you wish.

Ok, I feel a quick recap is in order[ +- ] Recap
Torhak finished the equitaur creature and on Tryne and 37’s recommendation, He makes his way over and eliminates the underwater sleeping creature. Here, he realizes that the middle of the swamp is much deeper and he must swim across. All threats have been taken care for the time being. Meepo spoke with the compliant creature under his suggestion and it tried unsuccessfully to trick him into drinking the swamp’s water. Realizing that the creature was taking liberties with the suggestion of "keeping them safe" and that the water is cursed. Meepo presses the creature who admits to others coming and his need to bring them to his master. Finally the creature relents and manages to tell Meepo to run. Meepo warns the others of the danger, while scooping three vials of the inky water. Meepo’s creature remains in the swamp.
As all this is happening, Tryne turns the cart around, preparing to make their escape. Kalli has joined him, ready to follow.
Laulalith speaks to the wyrmling who introduces himself as "Dubdub". He reveals that Virtue has already drank some of the water and is compelled to join the creatures. Laulalith and Dubdub have just made it to the overturned cart to discover a weakened Leith and a cursed Virtue. She gave them something to help with healing and has asked Dubdub to bring Virtue across the swamp.

Vice catches up with Laulalith at Virtue's side. He goes to gently embrace the goblin as he frantically says; "I thought we'd never meet again! Are you hurt? Do you still have your juggling axes? Please, please tell me your wit hasn't been dulled!"

Virtue coughs and sputters trying to drink Laulalith’s antitoxin. It doesn’t seem to have an effect on the goblin woman.
Virtue is unable to return the gnome’s embrace as she is tied to the wagon. "Vice!", Virtue’s voice is hoarse and strained, but she is happy to see her old friend.
She is very pale. Her vibrant green skin has faded nearly to grey. Her eyes have a faint red glow in blackened sallow sockets. Her famous yellow tunic stained from the swamp’s water. She struggles weakly again her restraints. "Please, I’m so thirsty."
Dubdub shoulders next to Vice, "She must not touch the waters again, sir., he says to Vice. "I can indeed carry her across if you wish, Laulalith the Bard."
Leith accepts the healing potion. "Thank you. Yes, our horses turned on us and fled into the waters. Tarin fled as well when Dubdub swooped in. The creatures followed them and left us be. We’ve been laying low, but without fresh water, Virtue took a chance. …", his voice trails off as he looks upon Virtue and Vice.

"Ok, no more cursed swamp water for anyone. We should have enough water to ration to all that need it." Vice turns to the wyrmling, "Your help is much appreciated. Please keep her safe and out of the swamps"

At Vice’s request, Dudub, scoops up Virtue and with a flap of his wings, he darts across the water to the cart. Here, he introduces himself to the rest of the group. "The animals call me Dubdub.", he says formally.
Leith begins to gather the few belongings he has left. "What about the lens?", the prospector gestures to a very large red disk, at least six feet across, barely visible in the mud. "We can’t just leave it here."
