"Forgive me, we have no time! Companions were cursed by vile waters in the grey, we must hurry -- we need to save lives!" 37 calls ahead, not intending to stop the carriage as he is acutely aware of the minutes ticking by.

The creature nods his head slowly and causes a large, glowing blue sigil to appear in front of him. He then disappears into the forest.
[ +- ] Creature and Sigil
Dubdub waves a greeting to the departing creature, "It's not often you see a warforged shed their armour and choose peace.", the druid says to know on in particular.

Torhak looked after the creature, "They can take off their armor, I thought it was part of them?"
Jun 9, 2025 6:06 pm
"I would like to return and find that one," 37 calls back to Dubdub. "I feel we would have much to discuss."

37 would try to identify the sigil, so long as it doesn't take his attention away from driving.

Dubdub chuckles, "Indeed, many do.", he says to Torhak, "Your warforged friend here doesn't show it, but under that armour is a body made of darkwood and a skeleton made of metal. They can change their armour, or take it off if they choose. Like a hermit crab, the shell is part of them, until it's not."

The druid watches 37 drive for a few moments, "House Cannith did wondrous things in those forges, even managing to create life. Too bad they intended them for war. Those ones were part of a group of Blades that fled the Mournland. They've been living here in the Thornwood ever since.", he says to 37.

While 37 continues to drive, he recalls seeing a similar sigil on back of Titaness' shield, which now adorns the space above their hall's entrance.

The afternoon turns to evening and the evening turns to dusk. As the twilight wanes, 37 passes Arythawn Keep. The gates are closed and the guards posted. The group has already made the decision to press on past the keep and continue to Salvation Outpost. It's around this time, that Vice notices that Virtues stops moving and slips into unconsciousness. At the pace 37 is keeping, Salvation is a few hours away.

As the waning orange moon of Olarune rises, 37 barrels across the rail tracks and into town. The sizzling lightning illuminates the buildings through town as the warforged steers the elemental directly to the Temple of the Silver Flame. When they arrive, they find the front door to the temple is closed and locked.

37 will immediately jump from the carriage and, realizing the door is locked will begin pounding on it. Loudly. He will also call for the cleric. Also loudly.

Vice also shouts "Mother Jahanah, please! I know we aren't your favorite town residents, but a we have sick here who need you help. Or cursed may be a better description."
Jun 10, 2025 6:53 pm
Laulalith stretches and pats Torhak's arm. "Funny, I thought the same about minotaurs. I don't think I've ever seen you out of your armour either." She sends him a brief wink, but then her eyes follow the huge unarmoured warforged as it disappears behind them.

Mother Jahanah
The townsfolk seem to largely ignore the ruckus from 37 and Vice as they are used to rowdy evenings. As they yell and pound on the door, they spot a small amount of light appear in the window above. It slowly dims and there is silence for several uncomfortable moments. Eventually, they hear the click of a latch and the door opens. This may be the first time the pair have seen the cleric in anything besides her armour. Instead of her tarnished and battle worn armour, she is adorned in a lavish white robe with silver woven into flames throughout. Her simple braid and cold scowl greets them.

"Well, good evening Guardians.", she says coldly. "Just how cursed are they that this cannot wait until dawn?"

"An educated estimate gave our curse victim twelve hours to live," 37 replies grimly as he gestures for Vice to go get Virtue. "We started our return trip twelve hours ago."

Vice rushes back to the cart. "Dubdub can tell you all about it. He's a mournland expert!"

There is nothing Laulalith can do for the cursed goblin. While the others are occupied getting her to safety, Lali observes the onlookers searching for any clue that Ikar's crew is watching them.

Dubdub jumps down from the wagon and retrieves the limp, but still breathing form of Virtue the goblin, "Forgive me Mother Jahanah, but this young one drank from the cursed waters. These folks are correct. She does not have much time."

Mother Jahanah
Mother Jahanah winces at Virtue's pale grey appearance. She then closes her eyes and touches the goblin's forehead with the back of her hand, taking a moment before moving on. The cleric then pries open Virtue's eye, revealing that the red glow in her eye has begun to fade. She clicks her tongue, "Very well, bring her inside. I assume you have brought the necessary materials for the ritual?", she asks coolly. Dubdub immediately pushes past Mother Jahanah and disappears inside the temple.

Meanwhile, Laulalith takes a look around. The streets on this end of town are mostly empty. A few blocks away, the din from the Grey Beyond is raucous as always. The elf then spots a grey furred cat-folk in a cowboy hat watching from up at the tavern side of Main Street.

Tryne felt slightly better with some rest he had gotten, but still worn out. As the others rush the goblin into the church, Tryne and Talon remained to guard the coach and wagon, keeping an eye on things in general.

"Materials . . . . yes. Can you remind me what they are please?"

Mother Jahanah
Vice almost gets impression that Mother Jahanah may actually be worried under her cold exterior, "A pinch of diamond dust, Vice.", she sighs in frustration, "I’m willing to help, but diamonds are not cheap for anyone. Even if it is just dust. Check with Harry, or steal a diamond. Suit yourself. I’ll do what I can for her here. What’s her name?"
Jun 10, 2025 11:38 pm
37 stands, observing Mother Jahanah as she goes about her business. "Perhaps my knowledge of divine magic is lacking, but unless I miss my mark... this isn't about breaking a curse anymore... is it?"

His tone is soft as he asks the cleric his question, and he steals a glance at Vice -- secretly hoping his companion doesn't make the connection.
