I'll go first
runekyndig says:
Why are your character in Salvation?
Oh oh! I read this book, where, where the Knights Arcane had been operated near Salvation!

And I would really like to find them. I read that they were all armed with Sunblades, those are super cool weapons! I want one!

And... and I would like to know more about them.

Beside: Being a magewrite is boring! All I do is fix (magical) washing machines.

runekyndig says:

Kael was a magewrite-appentice in Aundair. He repaired everyday magical equipment for the common man. He had no roll in the war at all. But dreamed about fighting for honor and glory

Finished my character (Colt d'Orien) with Runekyndigs charsheet. You should be able to see it JoshuaMabry :)

About the feats:
One you get from the background (Origin Feat: Lesser Dragonmark) and a second one I get from being a human (Human Race Feature: Versatile). Pretty sure about that. :)

What others might know (or learn quickly):
Colt is a Dragonmarked Heir of House Orien. He can ride, drive, steer, handle, navigate and more - anything landbound and if someone is seizing the reins - it is him. He loves showing off and is convinced that with enough elbow grease (and bravado) his once mighty house will overcome its momentarily decline and find back to former glory. And f*ck those knive-eared a**hole* with their lame, slow skyships trenching on Orien territory.

The key to this glorious future most likely lies deep in the Mourning Lands, where a mere century before three lines and the vital hub of House Orien tragically vanished.

Now seems like an excellent moment to reclaim what is lost - and gain GLORY while doing so!

Edit: I just saw your message from few moments ago Runekyndig. :)
Will answer them tomorrow. *gets something to eat now*

Eltesla says:
...I'm thinking of playing a 2024 Rogue (planned subclass Assassin) that used to be the physician to a ruler before she was framed for the ruler's assassination. Disgraced and hunted, she fled and drifted from place to place until she found herself in Salvation. As for why she joined the salvage team, she figured she could use her skills to earn enough money to establish a practice and then live her days quietly.

This is Cerise Duskglow, a human Rogue (2024). Sorry for being quiet over the past day or so. I was working on the sheet in DNDBeyond as well as looking into where my character could be from. I'm thinking Cerise will be from Zilargo. Born in Korranberg, she attended the Blackdragon college at the Library in order to become a physician. She finished off her exemplary school days by stumbling upon the cure to a particularly nasty gnomish disease, so Korranberg's triumvir approached he and she became their physician right as she graduated. She served for nearly a decade until disaster struck: The triumvir was assassinated, and circumstantial evidence made her the prime suspect. She fled Zilargo right away, as she doubted she would receive a fair trial, or any trial at all really. The Trust were after her every step of the way, but she slipped over the southern Breland border and made her way northeast, blending in with the shadier crowds to survive. This eventually brought her to Salvation, where she felt she could start anew. Her reasons for joining the salvage team remain the same. She still keeps looking over her shoulder, expecting the Trust to come her at any point. Gnomes make her anxious now too, even if she logically knows not every gnome is an undercover Trust spy.

Seeing some awesome character ideas everyone. Can't wait to start playing.

Where do you want the character sheets? here or dndbeyond?
Nov 20, 2024 6:36 pm
Full character sheets on dndbeyond please. Here you can just create a placeholder one with a name and a portrait so you can post in character. Or you can use a full sheet which will help with dice rolls.

I suggest here as it is easier for you to use the die rollers ;)
But that is just my preference

oki. Is there a way to easily import the skills list for this page or does one simply type them from one end to the other?

First look for the character sheet earligere in this post

Fill in your stats and your professions by clicking on the checkmarks
You should see that you get the same modifiers as DNDbeyond
Kael is proficient in History, but don't have expertise (that would been 2 checkmarks) when I pressed the 1d20+5 button the roll is made on the post

https://i.imgur.com/7l97Vju.png

click the inkwell to edit a section. If you want it to be collapsable as here you will start with a # i.e. #Human and everything between this # and the next # will be with in the Human field. Makes sense?

That should answer 80% of your questions to the sheet. Otherwise check the documentation of the BB codes here or ask :)

What did you do in the war a few years ago?

Birch was a scout in Cyres' armies. Part of a special unit that snuck into enemy territory to gain advanced recon. He was across the border when the day of mourning happened. Outside of his unit, he lost everyone he knew that day.

Why are your character in Salvation?

He has stuck near to the Mournland ever since the war ended. First to hopefully find survivors, eventually as reality dawned it turned to find their remains. As time passed, he found he had a knack for getting in and out, and hired himself out as a guard for people wanting to get into the Mournland. Eventually Salvation became a good place to set up permanent camp whenver he was out of the mournland.

How's everyone doing? I'd love to get started soon.

I've finished my character.

Im having some trouble with dndbeyond
The character I am planning to play was originally written as a forest gnome, but I cannot choose that on ddbeyond. I took the 2014-info for mechanics. is that how its done?

Or rather - I found gnomes, but only deep gnomes and rock gnomes. No Forrest gnomes

Tim on the outside
Tim is just a scrawny little boy in rags.
He wrapped a shawl full of holes up like a hood so it hides his face. But somewhere inthere, there is a set of bright eyes, freckles and short, dark, wispy hair. Bare arms, short pants, no shoes and dirty feet. The dust of a life in the darkest corners of Sharn city is in his hair, skin and the rags he wear - he would probably change colour if he had a bath.
Tim is used to being poor - he never knew anything else.

Tim om the inside - A bit of his hidden backstory (there be spoilers :) )
Tim is too small to survive on his own. He knows that. So. When he lived in Sharn, he teamed up with a halforc called Maria. They lived together in the large City of Towers and got by with everything from small-time pilfering to more elaborate scams and drug-transportation for the Boromar Clan (although Tim didnt know about it at the time).

The last time he saw Maria, she gave him a small polished stone that he now wears around his neck. He was told to hide it somewhere where noone would find it because it could be their insurance. Later that day, Maria disappeared after speaking to a few short men and after weeks of mourning and searching, Tim decided to get revenge on the Boromar Clan. But. Getting back at them for stealing his friend had its price, and therefore he has now gone into hiding in Salvation.

Tim is not his real name, but it works for the time being. Tim likes when things work.

(@joshua; I know you asked for dndbeyond, but now I have a finished sheet here. Ready to play. Ill fix dndbeyond if I get acces to the forrest gnome some day. OK?)

So it looks like forest gnome is not an option in the 2024 PHB. Do you have legacy content toggles for your character?
