Your group is on a flat plain, with grass and a bit of scrub here and there; nothing really significant enough to hide yourselves behind. You've been out in the open for some time, and can reasonably expect to be visible to anyone from a high vantage point.

"I think if they are coming for a fight, there is no avoiding it. Hopefully, they are just passing through." Coda lets out a chuckle "They probably have nothing to do with that one we let run away, huh."
Dec 6, 2016 4:53 pm
Maenor raises an eyebrow but carefully stops himself from saying 'I told you so'.
Dec 7, 2016 4:48 am
"Damn. At least we are prepared this time..."
Dec 7, 2016 4:55 am
"I doubt very much they're just going to leave us alone..."
Dec 7, 2016 4:57 am
"Maybe if ask nicely." Coda laughs as he draws his lute, letting off a few strums to check its tune.

The two hobgoblins with spears continue a charge straight at the party, now closing to approximately 600 feet away. The one with the longbow veers off at an angle, readying an arrow and drawing a bead towards you.

"Something tells me they're not interested in talking." Daniel removes his blindfold and ties it around his arm.
Dec 8, 2016 3:05 am
Geno looks around, desperate to find a place where the group could break line of sight with the longbow wielder.

There is only grass and small scrub brush in your area, which barely comes up to your knees.
Dec 8, 2016 7:47 pm
"Curses, we're sitting ducks out here if they start to bombard us."
Dec 8, 2016 7:50 pm
"My spells can't reach that far... anyone with a bow want to see if they can take out that archer?"
Dec 8, 2016 8:25 pm
"Likewise, however, I may be able to aid those that can reach that far. I do agree that the archer should be our main priority if this is coming to blows."
Dec 9, 2016 7:32 pm
As no one has anything for this long range, the party remains stationary. The two hobgoblins continue their charge, closing to 480 feet, spears glinting in the sunlight. You can hear the thundering hooves against the earth.

The archer continues a flanking move, not closing as quickly as it rides along an arc. From 500 feet away, the longbow angles upward and the hobgoblin fires an arrow. It demonstrates tremendous accuracy at this distance as the projectile slashes Geno across the side (18 vs AC with disadvantage, 4 damage) before burying itself into the ground.

OOC:
Consider this a round in combat. What will you do?
Dec 11, 2016 3:43 am
OOC:
I'm don't have many options, so I'll bardic inspiration if someone wants to try and take a shot.

OOC:
I don't have anything with that kind of range either.
Maenor sets down his shield and unlimbers his crossbow. He kneels behind his shield, resting the loaded crossbow atop it and waiting for the riders to come into range.
Dec 12, 2016 1:26 am
Daniel pulls out a dagger and waits for the archer to get closer to him.

OOC:
I don't really have much at this range either, and I can't think of a non-combat solution...
Geno draws his crossbow while wincing at yet ANOTHER perforation in his muscles.

"What did I ever do to anger all these goblinoids...?"
Dec 12, 2016 7:24 pm
The spearmen continue their charge, closing in to a distance of 360 feet. The archer maintains a distance, its angle taking it to 450 feet from the group.

Another arrow sails into the sky, arcing on a trajectory straight for Geno again. Now aware of the danger, the tiefling easily sidesteps and avoids the projectile.
