Heaving and getting their backs into it, Kalis and his partner strain against the heavy stone lid. There is a brief grinding of stone and the lid shifts, but only moves an inch before everyone needs a breather.
Apr 7, 2017 11:45 pm
Coda runs to catch up to the group "I did it guys, I did it!" he ecstatically calls out "I created..." as he makes his way closer to the room his sentence cuts off "I don't like this room. Anyone want to check on that other door with me?" regardless of any takers, Coda turns and makes his way back to the jammed door.
Apr 8, 2017 9:46 pm
Maenor smiles at Coda's pronouncement then sets his back to help Kalis once more.

This time the lid slides across the stone. The momentum of the push tips its center of gravity and the lid teeters against the edge only briefly, before thudding to the ground, resting against the sarcophagus.

Inside is a dust-covered skeleton, clad in a suit of chainmail. The leather and fabric underneath the armor has disintegrated, but the metal links look serviceable, if not a bit dull from age. A diadem of tarnished gold is around the hood, crowning the skull. An aged longsword sits by the skeleton's right hand, stuck inside a wooden scabbard with decorative iron bands. Resting across the skeleton's lower torso and legs is a tower shield, adorned with the symbol of an open eye. Small clay urns, similar to those outside the sarcophagus, lie at the skeleton's waist, next to a metal flask with the same eye symbol carved on one side.

Coda hears footsteps following him as he joins the group, as his invisible servant stands ready to obey. And again, when the halfling goes back to the jammed door.

Coda knocks on the door, for no other reason than good manners, then places his ear to the door for a few moments and listens.
Apr 12, 2017 9:13 am
Maenor inspects the metal flask.
Apr 12, 2017 12:58 pm
Kalis tries to open one of the urns to see what's inside.
Apr 12, 2017 3:55 pm
Coda hears no response on the other side of the door.

Maenor picks up the metal flask, and can feel the weight of liquid within. Removing the stopper, he sees and smells water.
CancerMan sent a note to marithyme
It is easy to crack the seal on the urn, but Kalis knows even before he opens it that it contains coins; 20 silver, to be precise. The second urn contains 10 gold pieces. The third and final urn contains gemstones: two tiger eyes, one lapis lazuli (10 gp each), and one diamond (50 gp).
Apr 13, 2017 8:17 am
Coda observes the bottom of the door.
OOC:
How flush is it with the floor?
Apr 13, 2017 3:27 pm
The door is not flush with the floor, with perhaps a quarter of an inch of space. No light or movement can be seen originating from the other side, as far as Coda is able to tell in his own torchlight.
Apr 14, 2017 4:39 am
Coda will extinguish his torch and rest it on the door then check the under gap to see if any light is coming from behind the door. If not he'll relight the torch while it's resting on the door.
Apr 14, 2017 5:29 am
No light can be seen through the gap.
Apr 14, 2017 5:54 am
Coda will back away from the door and issue his Unseen Servant to do the same then he'll sit down and wait for whatever happens with the burning torch left on the door.
Apr 14, 2017 6:00 am
The torch continues to burn, singing the door.
OOC:
What are the rest of you doing?
Apr 14, 2017 8:31 pm
Maenor looks to Kalis, "Shall we search the next?"
Apr 15, 2017 1:06 am
Maenor and Kalis perform the same ritual of opening the middle sarcophagus, whose lid eventually gives way to reveal another skeleton clad in chainmail. The adornments, shield, and sword are the same as the other, complete with iron flask full of water and clay urns full of coins and gemstones (15 silver, 5 gold, and 3 onyx stones worth 50 gp each).
Apr 15, 2017 1:48 am
"Last one?" Kalis asks, nearly out of energy.
Apr 15, 2017 7:19 am
The third and last sarcophagus reveals yet another chainmail-clad skeleton, also with a shield, sword, and diadem. There is another iron flask filled with water, but there are only two clay urns (21 silver pieces, and 5 gold pieces).

Coda's torch continues to light the hallway, but the flames appear to only singe the door and leave black marks. Coda's servant waits patiently for orders.
Apr 15, 2017 9:20 am
Coda rubs his chin before retrieving the torch from the door "Magic door, I suppose." he makes his way back to where he was standing, takes off his sling then loads up a bullet and slings it at the wall.
OOC:
I'll do this until one punches through or sticks, let me know if you need more rolls.

The impacts echo throughout the hallway. Coda aims for the charred spot and it takes three bullets until the plank is fractured and a small hole is punched through the door.
