Maenor quirks a half-smile. He lays out the halfling's bedroll then gently picks Coda up and places him upon it. Looking over all of his other companions, he prepares to keep watch while they rest.

You spend the quiet evening by the comfort of a warm fire. The hot meal drives away the cold of the nearby tomb, and settling into your bedrolls you are afforded a few silent moments of reflection from prior events. The horses and Maribel are fed and secure in their tethers.

Some of you spend some time inspecting the items you've collected from the sepulcher. Kalis discovers that the sharpened rod of wrought iron with ivory marble recovered is a Wand of the War Mage +1, and the robe is a Robe of Protection. Daniel finds that he holds a magical Dagger +1. Maenor realizes that the cloak is a Leaden Cloak. As for the sword, he understands that it is a magical blade with a heightened affinity for elves. The longsword makes him rather uncomfortable to be around it, but there's no intelligence behind the hatred, rather a strong aura surrounds the edge that makes Maenor's elvish blood cringe.

Eventually, sleep takes you as the outside chill is kept at bay.

You take turns on watch, and each of you notice that the white-haired goblin doesn't sleep. It maintains its own watch along with you, stoking the fire and observing the surroundings in quiet meditation. It does not talk, and gently shushes any of your attempts at conversation as it insists you all get your rest.

Kalis looks over the equipment that has been inspected, "Would anyone mind if I took this robe and the wand?" he asks sheepishly, not wanting to seem greedy.

Maenor shrugs, "It makes no matter to me. He offers the sword to Coda, "My friend, would you find use for this? I think its blade is keen, but it makes my blood run cold. Does it do the same for you?"
Oct 6, 2017 4:12 am
"If you think you'll get the best use of them, by all means, take them." Coda replies to Kalis with a renewed and refreshed smile. He grabs the sword offered by Maenor "I...don't think so, feels like a sword to me. I'm not much of a sword person, though, but if no one else wants it I can hang onto it in the event that I do find use of it." He responds with a happy shrug.

The white-haired goblin stirs a light stew of leftover game and tubers. "Eat. When you are ready, I will take you to the lair of the dog-men. I know of a secret entrance that connects to their underground home. It lies in the desert, perhaps a day's travel from here."
Oct 6, 2017 12:23 pm
Kalis smiles at his companions, "Thank you!"

He then moves over and serves himself some food, "Thank you for the meal," he says with a grateful smile.

Coda gathers some food for himself and talks to the goblin in between bites "Do you know anything about the tomb? I have to go back in to return the mask that helped us, I do not wish to steal from the dead. Was wondering, now with the evil cleared out, if you know about the tomb; can you tour us and perhaps clear some of the mystery surrounding it?
Oct 7, 2017 6:26 am
"I do not know anything about the tomb, save that it was home to an unseemly and dark entity," says the white-haired goblin. "The tomb itself was already ancient when I learned of its location many seasons ago.

"If you wish to go back and return whatever you have found, it is your decision. If you wish me to accompany you, I can."
Oct 7, 2017 6:41 am
"Oh, guessing you don't know anything about the creature—other then that it was unseemly and dark. If you don't know much about the tomb, you don't need to accompany; unless you want to sight see. There was a lot of interesting things in there." Coda finishes his bowl and, if there is enough, goes in for seconds.
Oct 8, 2017 11:57 pm
"I don't much feel like returning, but I'll go with you. Perhaps we'll have a chance to study the place a bit more," Kalis says, standing and stretching after his meal.

Kalis will mostly follow Coda to his destination, but will pause to investigate anything of interest that he sees.

Coda makes his way straight to where he found the mask, only stopping so those following him can investigate things they find of interest.

The white-haired goblin opts to remain at the camp with your horses and waits for your return.

Travel through the tomb is uneventful given that you had cleared many rooms of the undead. The wight's armor of broken leathers still remains, though the ashes of the creature itself appear to have been scattered or blended into the general dust of time.

Kalis doesn't see anything out of the ordinary that hasn't already been discovered. It seems the only secret door was the one leading to the room with the four stone chests. He tries to make sense of Maerathol's words in their brief conversations, and surmises a hypothesis that it was one of the four brothers from the story depicted in carvings. He has little to base this on and can only rely on the assumption that since the being was ancient enough to have witnessed the internment of many in the tomb, it may have been the first. This hypothesis is buoyed by Maerathol's sarcophagus being located at the deepest point, likely in an attempt to seal it away as far as possible.

Coda is able to return the golden mask, balancing it up on the mummified corpse.
