"Try talking. See if it's intelligent. Be ready to fight if it won't -- or can't -- talk," Anders says with a shrug. "I can try talking if we want. It'll probably notice me regardless, I'm not subtle. If I have its attention, the rest of you may have an easier time sneaking up. Unless someone objects?"
Feb 18, 2025 3:59 pm
Jeckle digs through his component pouch, ultimately returning it to his belt and, instead, reaching for his necklace and rubbing it to soothe him.

I can't talk to the creature, so please, Anders, do your best. I don't know that we need to immediately fight it. I'll prepare a Level 2 blessing so that, should we engage in battle, the four of you may feel the Moon Goddess' presence.
OOC:
I'd like for Jeckle to get close enough for a Perception check on the area, but only once the group is nearby or in front (except Arten, who I assume will stay distanced with crossbow aimed.) So behind Flash near N24.

"To be fair, I don't speak animal. I'm hoping it's more intelligent than a beast, and can communicate."
Feb 18, 2025 4:24 pm
"Good idea." the goliath rumbles. He will stay behind Flash to get near the dangerous unseen.
OOC:
Hope my rollstill counts. *fingers crossed*

Arten
moves carefully up through the water and up behind a stone-carved lamp. His movement causes very few ripples in the water, but he can feel something making ripples in his emotional waters. His emotion starts to boil and he is ENRAGED!. He dashes to the next island and rush towards Quercus with his shortsword drawn. He carves a bloody line over Quercus'es arm. (6 points of damage)

Anders
Anders hangs back while the others moves forward towards the unknown creature.

Jeckle
Follows Flash in a quick march forward while he keepes an weary eye out, and he realises that the eyebeast by the shrine is more like an owlbear with colourful feathers and an open maw sitting in the sun.
[ +- ] creature
Quercus
The goliath is taken a bit by surprise by his quick companions, as his hides behind the stone bridge railing. He is even more surprised by by Arten that now has attacked him in rage.
OOC:

Had changed my action due to the hope of Pass without trace. But no problem. Let's do it this way. :)
"What is it, Arten?" the goliath rumbles quietly and lifts a heavy eyebrow. He had gotten love-bites from his GF that hurt more. A lot more.

Still keeping behind cover, the Barbarian glances at the dwarf. Feeling his heart start pumping quicker, an understanding smile appears in his eyes. "You wanna go hard, don't you? Wait just a breath more - THEN we strike together." Quercus can taste the battlelust rising in his breast as well. Still no reason to scratch a comrade like a meowing kitten!

But what should a man do, when the fever of fever has one in its steely grip!? Trying to keep quiet, the heavily armed man fells compassion for his fellow warrior.

'Dear Sylvanus - gift us strength of mind!' he sends out a prayer in favor of his friend, to be granted enough patience to make their plan work.
OOC:
Standard: Dodge
Bonus: Rage - I will keep spending my bonus action to keep the rage going until it isn't necessary and other conditions keep it running. (Love the 24 rules so far.)

On my turn, I'd like to move so that I can reach Arten, Quercus, and Flash within my 30ft radius for Blessing. If Anders moves near them, too, I'd like to cast Level 2 Blessing for all four, otherwise I will cast Level 1 Blessing for Arten, Quercus, and Flash.
Jeckle prays to Selûne, moving his necklace in the shape of a seven-sided star: May the light of the moon dampen the radiance of these hostile creatures.
OOC:
As I concentrate:
Quote:
Bless: Whenever a target makes an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, the target adds 1d4 to the attack roll or save.

Noted, but Jeckle is in initiative group C, you might change your mind after lair and monster actions
Feb 19, 2025 4:11 pm
Anders will move closer, still keeping some distance. "Greetings! You've gotten some people worked up and injured a fellow. These people would like you to be on your way. Is that something we can help with?"

Suneater owlbear
The Suneater Owlbear roars and several sunspirits appears, it then teleports to a ray of light on a neighbouring island. From there it opens its maw again, and a beam of light bathes Quercus and Arten in painfull light

Arten
Is still enraged and continues his attack on Quercus. The appearence of the nearby sunspirit causes him to step back, and is only mildly sunburned by the ray of light
10 radiant damage

Flash, if you stay near, I can more easily tend to your wounds.
OOC:
@GreyWord: You can keep going where you were going, but if you stayed near me, I could more easily use Cure Wounds. (I'd also probably take advantage of my halfing natural stealthiness and may hide behind you, though, so that may change your mind, lol.)
Jeckle moves to the middle of the island (L28) where he can reach Flash and Quercus as he casts a level 1 Bless on them, plus himself.
[ +- ] Bless
Quercus! Come to me and I can heal your wounds!
OOC:
I forgot that Arten was Charmed, so I'm not sure I want to Bless him, although I will if I Jeckle would know the Charm would only last a turn. But if not, then he'll Bless himself instead.

OOC:
Still learning the new system. Through my Vitality of the Tree feature, I got 6 temp HP with the start of my rage. These will be subtracted from the damage the Solar Beam. So 20-6 = 14 DMG+ 6 from Arten.
Not able to contain himself any more the Barbarian pops up from behind the stone bridge and ROOAARS his battlelust out into the world. Long enough had he hold back - now the moment of action finally has come!

Arten - freed from the magic of the pescy sun thingy - feels some of the pure energy that Quercus is radiating strengthen his grip.

Drawing his HUGE Two-Handed Warhammer, the goliath starts to attack the sun thingy right infront of him. If it falls there is still the one, for whom the came for!
OOC:

Free: For Arten 2d6 Temp HP
Bonus: -
Standard: Reckless Attacking the S1
Move: Maybe. If S1 dies after my attacks, Quercus moves to I25
Reaction: If the S1 dies and he moves not I25, he would use his Branches of the Tree-Feature. DC: 15 Strength Save for the SunOwlbear, or he is teleported to I24.
If S1 dies after my first attack and the SunOwlbear is teleported infront of Quercus, he tries to hit it as well. Topple as well.

"Can't say we didn't try," Anders says to no one in particular as he moves forward, closing with the sun-beast. "You know what to do." A second later, Anders will brace his hand crossbow on his shield and channel his will through his weapon.

Alright... moving to H24.
Having the invisible imp familiar fly (40 ft.) forward and provide the help action, granting advantage.
