Chapter 4: Level 3 dungeon

Traveling Criella says while with Orsik & Tante, "That and we may have a need for a good magical weapon. Like when we encountered those ghosts."

You discover a corpse of a human Tinkara recognize as Zean - cleric who entered dungeon with her and left the party several days ago for his own reasons. You never seen him since then.

Tinkara also recognizes the magic staff in his hands (staff of python) - the one you got from tomb behind propeller. One where Tinka lost her metallic equipment. You also discover a mace in his backpack and recall Vatoris had it in his backpack a while ago.

Few more of you remember the short period you were together here in this dungeon

Lude picks up the mace.

Nyx admires the staff and would like it but acknowledges that with Shillelagh he does not need it to be effective in combat against these ghosts.

"I'm not built for close combat, so I'll stick with the dagger Criella was kind enough to lend me. Please take the staff Nyx."

When Tante Lude picks mace
Red smoke seethes from the head of the mace, forming the outline of a monkey with a long tail. With a roar, the smoky apparition leaps at you, screaming, "Let me in!"

When Nyx touches stuff:
Green smoke billows from the staff, coiling around you like a serpent. A sibilant voice whispers in your ear: "Let me help you! I promise to be good."

Nyx silently curses his forgetting of this places advised nature as he heals the curse try and slice him 😭 but grits his teeth and pushes through

(I'm assuming everyone, not just Tante Lude, can see the monkey)

She will then take the short rest and attune to it.

Hmm interesting and unfortunate. The item holds a spirit that now has some influence on me. I assume something similar has occurred to the others when taking up these cursed items. Though as it did not occur when I took up the amulet it seems to not be a guaranteed effect. and he looks at Tinkara in consideration as he recalls her transformation.

"Not a surprise. Seems most magical items here hold possible curses. I know the horn also tried to take me when I possessed it."

My curse seems less severe than Tinkara's. I almost wish it had afflicted us all as the constant change of companions has begun to wear on me. You see, i not have extreme difficulty in lying. Not the most onerous of afflictions but possibly problematic in negotiations. So I will leave parlaying with others to the rest of you.

The benefit, however, far out ways the cost in my mind. I gained the ability to vanish with only a bit of concentration. and Nyx vanishes from view

I am able to do this in just a moment and remain invisible till I attack or cast a spell.

Nyx then uses his telepathy to speak to the others Combined with my ability to speak directly to others without words and I feel this grants many possibilities.

"I am not sure but that we need to be possessed, each by a spirit of one of the gods of this place. I will not willingly give hierarchical space to one who is not in alignment with my goddess but it may be what is holding us back."

Temple raider Criella put her thoughts up, "I think it is a good time explore more." She losses her spell as time runs out on it.
