After the sparring match, when Yui begins talking to others, Khoren begins to add in his own story, but the words catch in his mouth. Instead, he watches the portal, and the windows, but listens jealously to their growing comradery. He was never good at that, talking easily with strangers. Back in Bhoreg, the gang accepted him, and as he grew to know them, he began to speak more openly with them. They thought that he was shy, but it was really that he didn't have any idea what to say to them until he knew them well enough. As he grew into adulthood, they began including him in all manner of hi-jinks, and soon he found an outlet for his unspent words. A vicious cruelty emerged, one that felt natural and gained him immediate acceptance with their games of one-upmanship.

But deep inside, he felt a stronger urge, an urge to assist and accomplish rather than to bully and destroy. He left one night, and joined Phyrell, who seemed to understand his need to escape a bad lifestyle. As a teamster, hard work and cooperation erased the seemed to erase the path down that terrible road to the life of thug. At least he had thought so. But during the sparring, as Yui pressed her hands to side, blood creeping down, a horrific thought strangled his attention. Was that cruelty gone? Or merely repressed.

Words choke in his throat, unspoken.
When the time comes to exit the room, Khoren is a bit more at east with himself. Still, a terrible thirst gnaws at his throat and he knows that without refreshment, they will soon become weakened and may not survive the next encounter with poisoned air. He says "Rememdium..." and then coughs slightly, holding back the rest of his thought.

Tara will inform everyone that she's managed to evolved her combat fighting style to find a way to take Advantage of an opponent that has been attacked previously on the same turn that she is attacking, whether that attack hit or not, thus making it easier for her to hit them. This of course is very useful against more formidable opponents. When able to do so, she will try to use this advantage herself of course, but sometimes she can't turn her back on a more formidable opponent and just wanted to let everyone know that the distraction can be used to her advantage whether they hit or not... it could pose some tactical strategic advantage.
(So, if someone attacks an opponent I'm attacking before I do (because they have a higher initiative), that puts the creature at -1 step for me to hit it. So a lvl (5) monster (5)x3=15 to hit, turns into a (5-1)x3=4x3=12 to hit now before I even apply effort or weapon training.)
(OOC: I don't remember if I mentioned this or not to everyone.. I thought I had but couldn't find where I posted it so figured I might as well restate it since we're all trapped in a room for a full day with nothing else to do.. she'd have plenty of time to explain it to everyone)

After a while Darazen stands up and stretches. Noticing that over the period of the day there is quite a mess immediately around him, despite Khoren's best efforts to keep the room clean. He starts to pack his personal effects away in his back pack, making sure his books are easily accessible. He re-reads some of the notes he's written while resting, using his incredible memory to accurately record the last few days, including some of the conversations of particular importance, friends and foes alike. Particular emphasis is paid to the unusual experiences, including rumors, cyphers, and his telepathic experiences. Satisfied it is an accurate record, and feeling privately proud of himself, he packs his book.

He looks towards Utazo and communicates telepathically with her. (Ooc: see PM)

Brushing his robes down, he feels ready to move on. Darazen wasn't much of an eater, and he had managed to keep his mind stimulated for the last few hours, but now the hunger pangs suddenly kick in.

"Well everyone, it's been a pleasure sharing your company with me, but I don't know about you, but I'm starving. Shall we find some food?"
Mar 23, 2015 11:28 am
"You can have some of my food." Vult offers. "Is anyone else hungry?"

He tone grows low, inquisitive, "What do the rest of you know about the Assassin's Heart? Is it a telepathic device?"
Mar 23, 2015 12:50 pm
Darazen eagerly grabs some food from Vult and starts to ravenously eat. "I was hungrier than I thought. I get so embroiled in my studies I forget to eat sometimes!"

Recognising Vult's question, Darazen nods. "I was just reading my notes, and there was a snippet of information I found from one of the commanders we killed. I'll read it to you." Darazen reaches back into his pack and retrieves his note book he'd only just stowed away. Opening the book and finding the correct page, he glances up at Vult's impassive face and briefly wonders whether the guy has emotions, and whether this information will excite him or not. After all, the somewhat mechanical being had not shared much information about himself in the last few hours, and the first time he spoke was all business, much like a computer.

Making sure the food was completely swallowed, and his mouth is clear, Darazen reads aloud to the whole group, taking on the voice of one lecturing in a large impersonal room. "The Commander said to me... "I don't know where the heart is, or even what it looks like. The thing is supposed to be this amazing artifact which lets the wearer see through the heart of anyone close to them, knowing exactly what they are doing and what they are feeling. It is supposed to protect the wearer from mental attacks of any type." So it does sound like some sort of telepathic device."

The food tastes better than you'd expect for field rations (OOC: Vult uses Hedge Magic to season them).

Vult listens, his hand absent-mindedly disolving and absorbing his ration. When he replies, his voice is a mix of awe and trepidation, "I had a dream. That was mentioned in the journal in the dream -- device # 42. Does their queen have pure white skin and red hair?"
Mar 23, 2015 2:27 pm
Darazen nods. "I have seen the Queen. She has skin of alabaster white, and red hair, and she is extremely beautiful, almost mesmerisingly so. Let me check my notes." He flips a few pages back in his book. "Here it is... Let me read it to you. This is quite a long passage, so bear with me..."

"My link to the command is strong still for the next few seconds. He is scared and feeling very alone and betrayed. While he was a tough guy, hard on his men, it was to teach them how to survive. Now he feels like he let them down. I get flashes of memories, him growing up too soon, seeing his mother murdered and his father blamed when he was only 7. The streets he grew up in, the shelters and homes he used, his pets (random small animals). I see him wandering farther and farther from town. Getting into trouble, and yet sometimes helping those in need.

Then, it goes dark. He feels movement, but cannot see anything. The caves... now he is lost. A room... a water curtain glows and hangs on the wall. It's wet (yet dry) and cold... and there is a room on the other side. Stepping through, he wanted to see what it was hiding. He is seeing swirling colors and hearing odd sounds, he steps out a moment later. It is night and he is outside. He feels a bit stronger. He looks to the sky and he sees a blue and white marble in the sky. A sound to his right and now he sees stars.

He wakes up in a camp, chained to others. He is called a cruit by others who seem to be in command. He is trained and soon bests his fellow cruits. He faced and beat many challenges and was given more and more freedom. Soon given the rank of LT, he is given his own cruits and soon he works them into shape to take on tasks.

On these tasks, he is given an artifact, told how to use it and what it takes to repair it. He is told that once in GiaPrim, to cover themselves with mud as it absorbs the weapons energies. He does what he is told and he achieves each task put before him.

He is 19 now, and earned the rank of 4LT. He is summoned to the central. He is joined by 5 other 4LTs in the outer room, 2 women and 3 men. Commanders and support people circle around them, removing weapons and armor. "You won't need those", they were told and stripped down to their breeches.

The center door opens and they are lead to the door. Inside, a feast has been brought. "Come in", a pleasant voice says, "Sit with me and eat." He's been given audience with the queen. He and the others step through and the door closes and seals. From behind a synth curtain, the most beautiful woman he has ever seen steps through. She is tall, maybe 6'4" with long red hair and deep green eyes. Her skin is alabaster white and her breasts firm with rose colored nipples. Catching himself staring, he drops his eyes. She does not seem to notice, or care. She moves to the head of the table and offers seats to him and the others.

The feast is wonderful, far better than he has ever eaten before. But unlike a couple of his fellow LTs, he knows not to over eat; you never know what the next task may be.

Two of the LTs gorge themselves with food and drink and pass out. The queen, displeased by this, has them removed. She stands and out of reflex and respect, he stands and lowers his head. She walks back to the curtain and beckons the rest of you to follow. The shape of her behind is perfect and there is not a blemish on her skin.

She pulls back the curtain and reveals a large cushions bed. "I have a 'Commander' rank, for the one who can keep up with me." She was avaricious when it came to her pleasure within a couple of hours, two of the LTs had passed out. She left them where they were, occasionally prodding, licking and kissing them, hoping for more. After several more hours, he and the other LT were exhausted and yet she wanted more. As the other LT started parting her legs, her eyes started to quiver and her lips turned blue. She grasps her chest and collapses. As the queen rolled her off of her, she rolled on her back with a smile on her face.

"Commander", she whispered, "Care for another?"

Hours pass and she was resting her head on his arm. "Commander?"

He shuddered. "Relax, Commander, I was just going to ask if you wanted breakfast."

My link with the commander breaks and for all the beating he took, he too died with a smile on his face."

Looking up, Darazen smirks with embarrassment. "You can see why I didn't share this with you guys. It's a bit like soft porn."

"You know, it really says something when she can't restrain her appetites enough to keep the people under her alive." Vult says, disapproving.
Mar 24, 2015 2:10 pm
"But Vult, you asked me to confirm her identity. Do you have information to share with us?"
Mar 25, 2015 2:54 pm
"Not much else, I'm afraid. This place used to be a paradise of some kind, if my dream was correct." His voice falls into a solemn tone.

So, where is the party going? Into the structure, or back through the portal?
Mar 25, 2015 4:04 pm
Darazen shrugs at Vult's anticlimactic response. "Fair enough."

"Well, I think we've spent long enough contemplating our navels, let's get moving..."

He approaches the locked door and types in the code to unlock it. "Anyone fancy going first?"
Mar 25, 2015 7:38 pm
"I'll go first." Tara says and steps forward. "Someone should cover our rear just in case".
Mar 26, 2015 12:10 am
"And let us all know what the code is to get in.. Just in case." Tara shrugs. "Just being practical.. better to know in an emergency."
Mar 26, 2015 12:26 am
"That's a good idea Zo, I mean Zoey, no, Utazo. It's a really good idea. Locking the door may prevent anyone following us through the portal." Darazen waits for everyone to pass through the door before locking it. As each person passes by he tells them the password. "Osred".
Mar 26, 2015 12:47 am
Vult draws his bow with a fluid action. "I'd be best near the front."
