OOC Conversation

I need to add descriptions for my abilities, but my character is otherwise created!

I'm going with a STR/CON-based Earth/Wood kineticist. He should be able to be a solid mix of Tanky DD w/ a bit of support. Since we're doing Free Archetype at lvl 2, he'll be going with Beastmaster and pick up a flanking buddy.

Hey everyone, I want to start with an apology. I was also not feeling well this last week and so I kept with my current games, but wasn't able to sit down in the right headspace and create my character.

That being said, I am feeling better now and I have submitted Eugene Aldrich to the game.



Eugene was an engineer for a Physical Security Integrator. His job was to engineering solutions for CCTV, Access Control, and Security systems for a variety of customers. On the side though he enjoyed computer programming, mathematics, and engineering of all sorts. He was mildly social though a bit of a goof at times, for example he loves to tell dad jokes and has has a penchant for trying to be funny sometimes even when it's not completely appropriate (it's a defense mechanism). At his core Eugene was pretty boring, enjoying spending time with his wife and two kids, delving into a video game, or working on one of many side projects than going out and experiencing the world. This was safety, this was his happy zone.

Then everything changed, one day while at work Eugene received a request to join a meeting in the conference room over his lunch break. While not his favorite thing to do (he particularly liked taking his lunch break away from the building so he could clear his mind and refocus), he agreed to the meeting. Upon arrival though the lighters were off and no-one was there. Thinking they were just late he looked back to the meeting invite to find out who all was listed as Attendees. But as he did a portal opened behind him and he felt it tugging him, he turned just in time to see the swirling green energy that whisked him away from everything he held dear!

Alright, it looks like we're ready to begin. I'll get the gameplay thread up shortly.

I have a question: do we already have our abilities, both basic stuff like 'trained in Diplomacy' and less basic stuff like 'cast a spell'?

Yes, you have all of those and an innate understanding of how to use them.

Are we still working off this statement:

Yes, with a couple caveats. Rone can start with his sword so he can fight effectively and Eugene will have his spellbook and necessary components for casting spells.

But, without sword, I would have to fight bare fisted and maybe throw my mobile phone at it. Thanks for the clarification, @Dmbrainiac.

Yea I was worried about that for you! But I am glad we are all good :)

How do you want to handle Recall Knowledge, because that'd probably be my first action next turn.

You can state you want to take the action to Recall, and I'll make a secret roll and let you know what your character knows based on the result.

Sorry - we are transported to inhabit the bodies of real people in Golarion, with past lives and selves? Or are winking into existence as a character much like we created them at the table?

My idea was the second one, that you've become fresh characters without a past existence on Golarion. You're welcome to give yourselves connections or faint memories from this world if you would prefer.

@Stalker05 we had decided that in this world, the Pathfinder roleplaying game isn't a thing, so you wouldn't be familiar with the names and such. :)

Okay, I will change the post.

I will be out of town next week from March 16th through the 23rd. I will not have internet access during this time so I will not be able to post until I return on March 24th.

I'm back from my trip now, but I'll need a bit of time to get caught back up at work and such. I'll hopefully resume posting tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.
