Robert eyed the direction from where they heard the sounds of footstep, "You mean another crew? Or our own workers? It would be a strange thing to find another route of entry unless this tomb is already discovered. However, we are stranded here, and whatever is coming will surely spot us if we don't move. I suggest we go to the room and hide somewhere."
OOC:
Running away from whatever is coming would be the right thing to do. But, we don't have any escape route unless we cave in the section through which we crawled in. Then we will just be stranded. Won't it be alright if we hide and let whatever thing is coming pass on and then explore that area while it's gone?Mar 5, 2025 1:02 pm

Awesome idea. Didn't think about this.
But the main room has a bark/boat, vases etc. on the map we've seen.
@GM: Could I use "spot hidden" to do the opposite: search for a good spot to hide?

Leading the way back to the treasure room with the candle, Lady Bishop looks for a good hiding spot.
"Staying out of the way sounds good. After all, maybe that is the robbers who injured the man coming out from their treasure hunting. Perhaps they will show us another way out. Do you not think one of us should set up the dynamite at the entrance in case and hide though?"

There's certainly plenty of hiding spots, especially in the treasure room, or you could run. Either way, you need to decide fast!Everyone gets one action - go!

OK hiding requires a stealth roll. Clara hasn't done so well, so can use Luck or try something push the roll at a risk of something bad..Mar 5, 2025 5:30 pm
Eugen never was a deft boy. Books, literature and archeology - these are the things he likes. For a few steps, Eugen kept up with the others. Not only in movement, but also in behaviour.
But as they step into the treasure room, he looks to the left again. The corpse with the grotesque animal heads still there.
The pounding footsteps hammer louder in his ears than his only panicking heartbeat.
"Are they waiting for us? Are we cursed? The sound of the steps .... aaaaah."
He leaps to the right hand side, away from the corpses and to the bark.
How's the mechanic going? Char-Sheet says "60 Luck".

Edit: Eugen and Stealth. I knew this wouldn't work out. I'd like to push that with luck, if possible. How's the mechanic going? Char-Sheet says "60 Luck".

So you EITHER use Luck or PushLuck is spent from your pool to bring a success, so in this instance 42 Luck!
To Push you need to come up with something EXTRA you do, then reroll. Fail and something bad happens. Note you cannot then use Luck on a Push, so choose wisely.

Your patience and will to explain is outstanding. Highly appreciated. Thank you.I just see, that I wrote "...I wan to push that with luck...", without knowing that Push is actually a keyword/mechanic.
As we're here to face true terror, I don't expect Eugen to stay safe or sane. Hence ... ;)

Robert was not ready for hidding. His entire life he has never skulked around. All his youth he has spent pouring over tomes in a secluded corner of the library. He tried his best to find a hiding spot and tried to take a low profile.

Eh, mind as well use up the luck she has. Will use 46 luck points for hiding and only 10 left.Mar 5, 2025 10:38 pm
So the first and second candle are now burnt out, leaving Clara with the only one lit. As she blows it out, you are plunged into complete darkness. The sound of the stone block moving into the room continues and you hear a heavy, almost animalistic, breathing and more footsteps.
Robert crouches in the corner, Clara hides behind the chariot and Eugen clambers under something, making a lot of noise in the process.

As the stone stops moving you make out the dark silhouette of something moving at the other end of chamber. In the complete dark it is impossible to make out the size, but your imagination fills the gaps that this is no man. Then you see two glowing red eyes.

Thomas sneaks a peak around the corner and sees the two angry red eyes glowing in the total darkness. Quickly he moves his head back and flattens against the wall. Now that there is actual danger, all trace of nerves have passed. His mind and body snap into a rhythm he knows very well. His mind clears and heart rate steadies. He feels the knife hilt in his hand. It's smooth, and worn, and fits his hand from years of use. He doesn't know what's out there, but he knows it isn't good. He knows the Lady Bishop is within arms reach, around the corner and behind that gaudy golden chariot. She had a candle and a book of matches. He feels the dynamite tucked into his belt with his left hand. Then he moves his hand down to his pocket reaching for his lighter.
Damn it. I must have dropped it on the ground while rushing in after Lady Bishop, he thinks. He pauses for a moment, waiting for things to play out a little more before his next move.

Robert stood at the corner with batted breath as the stone slab fully opened up. He tried to take a peek, inquisitive and scared at the same time, wondering what they were going to face in this isolated locked tomb. As he peeked, he saw glowing red eyes in the dark silhouette which made his heart skip a bit. He tensed up but held his breath and kept crouching in his hiding spot.

Crouching behind the barque, Eugen is trembling like a leaf. Absolute darkness all around him, he hears the steps of what has come out of the burial chamber.
Was that red eyes or does his mind play tricks on him?

Oh did I misread the map? I thought there was a little nook where the crawlspace came in that had standing room. If there isn't then Thomas would be next to Lady Bishop behind the chariot.load next
