Eugen puts the little statuette back on the table next to his sickbed. The movement is long-winded, as every part of his body hurts. He grabs the brown flask and pours some pills onto the blanket that covers his plaster-casted legs.
One, two, three. Five. The doctor said, three per serving. Ha! Little does this idiot of a goatherder know about the pain he is really going through. A good amount of sleep will help, he said! But how? Whenever he closes his eyes, tendrils appear and the demanding beat of a dead heart hammers inside his head.
He swallows the pills with a good sip from a bottle of Gin. Aaah! The warmth of the booze fondles his throat. Putting the Gin back with the same awkward movement, he grabs his diary.

Wednesday, March 25th, 1925. Sidi Bou Said, Tunesia.

Awaiting Dorothy Olsens return from the appointment with that Mr. Crowley: Maybe we‘ll get a passage to Marseille by 2nd of May. Waiting for confirmation - it‘s not granted, that the captain will take another passenger, especially in a wheelchair.

Payouts from Lady Bishop will hold out. She kept her words and was very generous.
Last telegram she‘d sent contained no news of Thomas. But the newspapers from Egypt held reports on several strange homicides. All three persons where day labourers and had obviously been stabbed. I hope, he can wreak revenge onto the Children of the Sphinx.
I wonder, if Robert was able to gather more information on that. Need to visit him, if I can make it back to London.
